"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Is it weird that I take issue with 40K games that have American accents on their main characters?
I feel the same way, it's horribly out of place. Americans have no place in 40k!
While I agree american accents in 40K are pretty glaring, its not totally unimaginable.
If the few descriptions of Gothic (which isn't used on a lot of planets) are anything to go by the accent of your average 40K human is a garbled mixture of a number of accents, including some that don't even exist.

That subtle "Murica, feth yeah" joke must've been too subtle.

I didn't mean to start that Alpha, sorry. I was more commenting that most characters in 40K games have various British accents, which comes with the territory of being an English game. Hell, even the books written in the US (like the 40KRPG books) have to use British English, not American English, for all spelling/grammar. It just felt out of place.
And IgnatiusMade, everyone has an accent. Americans are no different here.

Yeah the voice kills any hope of immersion for me... I'm not sure it has to be British as other accents have worked great in pasts games such as the Russian Guardsmen in Final Liberation. I think more than anything it is just plain bad.. here is how you do it All without anyone being paid a penny. Neocore do not deserve to be making an official cutscene for this beloved franchise imho.

Mine neither. Kiting away from a boss and constantly shooting him from afar is not the type of gameplay I prefer. Action should be face to face, not runaway-shoot-runaway-shoot through the entire level.
That has to be the laggiest video I've ever seen. I can watch youtube vids in 1080p just fine, but that thing was frame-by-frame slow.
Got to about 2 and a half minutes in before giving up.
So, based on that...
Visuals: Yes.
Gameplay: It'll take some getting used to, and I'm kinda annoyed it's not going to be 1st (I love me some immersion) or 3rd (Mmm, killmoves) person, but I could probably get behind it after a while.
Story: Eh?
Audio: Did you even try?
Combat: Remember Kill Team, on Xbox? Yeah, it's exactly like that. Except laggier. Apparently. So it'll get boring after about half an hour.
UI: Not seen enough
So. Not the most promising start, but the spokesman said it'll cover a sector, and defined that as hundreds/thousands of planets. There better be some good travel mechanics.

The running speed looks really annoying, and the shooting looks so slow that you could dodge bullets. Oh, and the narrator in the demo makes me want to go to sleep
The graphics look pretty good, to be fair, but it moves more like that Halo third-person game that came out for Windows Phone (can't recall its name), than a fast-paced third person game.

For a pre alpha it's not too shabby. The idea with the dismemberment of bosses was a nice touch.
At least that wasn't a total turn off like the mobile games were.

This isn't for the game, it's a trailer for the Lord Inquisitor movie
