I did PM him, I'm just waiting for him to get back to me.

I know it's Dakka and I've seen his avatar / name around, but I'm the tiniest bit paranoid. So want to get some kind of affirmative back before giving him my address.

You can send your address to me if it makes you feel more comfortable, pretty sure oadie is away for a few days.

I was indeed away. Just got back and answered the PM.

I got my boy, via Buttery.

I have a little WIP to show.

I am going to paint up that Dire Avenger Exarch head (in background) as a trophy to stick on a base.

Nicely done! I'm starting to feel bad for the NA folks, as I haven't shipped anything out, yet.

You'll all get your allotted models, of course, but I'm currently swamped with work and am still getting stragglers joining in every other day. I'll have to establish a cutoff date, soon enough (at least for the first wave - I'll do a second if interest keeps up), so PM me soon if you still want to join in!

Scout's honor - I'm not flaky, I'm just a bit sluggish.

Faz that is great work mate, reminds me that I should keep on painting (though, I do have the skin done now at least!)

oadie, no stress at all mate, I'm just happy you're going to do it at all, I don't particularly care when

I'm not worried about you, kb - I just don't want to raise the ire of all the folks waiting to join your WAAAGH! Orks aren't known for their patience, after all...

Skin done, just did the left shoulder in checkerboard, worked surprisingly well.

I painted it with leadbelcher, stippled thinned Vallejo red primer (I don't know what I was doing) all over it, stippled a mix of bonewhite and pallidwychflesh over that, masked it with 1.5mm squares of Tamiya tape (in a really terrible fashion) then painted it with abaddon black.

It looks pretty orky, thinking about giving him some tatts as well, no idea what colour to paint his leathers though, or his hair

Two little orks have comes swimmying back.

They're at my parents' house because there's always someone home to answer the mail, but I'll get a photo this afternoon.

Unfortunately the first to arrive has some simple breaks. Mum isn't going to try and mend him, but if I do a British mob photoshoot at WHW I'll probably use a minute amount of glue and tack him back together for that, let kb do a full-mend back at his end.
The second that came today (Para?) is fine.

You can modify them however you see fit mate.

Bummer about the breakages BC, I agree that just tacking thm together in the short term is the best idea

Wow, those are amazing - damage doesn't look like the end of the world, which is good.

Can we start putting painters to some of these bad boys so I can get to naming them?

Yeah it's frustrating that Camkierhi couldn't have done more to protect him, and he still got cracked.

I love that colour dude, can't wait to see how it turns out.

Is that top rotor upside down?

I also like that it looks like he fell out HEH

I need to make it a bit more opaque, and then I might do some freehand designs and weathering after that.

It was actually the bottom rotor that was the wrong way around, I did manage to cut the glue out and get it back together the right way around. The rotor still comes off, just both pieces are together.

So yea, the model arrived in good order about a week ago, but the bloody kitchen had been getting sorted...

Anyways, I thought I would get some work done on remodelling this bad boy to a more personal dynamic.

@Winter
After seeing what you produced for the painting challenge I am super keen to see how your freehand looks. Oh that rotor was upside down, that makes sense - probably doesnt matter for orks either way

@yhette
That looks great so far dude, can't wait to see how it looks painted.

Most recent example of my freehand work was this banner. It has been a while since I have done patterns though.

Here's mine, should be in the post in a few days.

(Prepare 2 clean handkerchiefs). I have never got the minimum 5 votes for an image. I would appreciate some votes in the gallery.

Spoiler:

The Dire Avenger Exarch head has a flat cut on it, so it can be glued to a base. May need to go the base of a nob, or something with more space. Will need some flock tucked around the edges.
