Do you mind not having the bases attached?

that way i could probably sneak it into a pouch instead of a box.

also cant wait. would love to build me something cool.

I explicitly do not want the bases attached, or I'll need to cut them off when they get here

So excited to see a new arrival in a post with a wee Stars and Stripes beside it! American orks are go!

And Kb those base moulds look great. I reckon you'll be giving yourself plenty of work to do and you might need a ton of green stuff but it looks like it'd be we'll worth it.

Do you have any particular mould in mind? I think battlezones looks good.

I was thinking urban as they'll be mainly city fighting (assuming i ever play a game) as that is the terrain i have.

Happy for suggestions though as i can't make up my mind anyway

It won't quite be your name, Tactical_Spam - I dropped the underscore when I wrote it.

On that note, LeCacty's box was originally addressed to his former name and kb had pre-printed a label thereto. Blacked that out and wrote "LeCacty." You're welcome.

Good luck modeling the sodomized goat, then, LeCacty.

Ok, speaking of that, I assume you sent it in a yellow/orange package? Not a box?

Nope. All were sent in small white boxes with the various original text/barcodes scribbled over. Scavenged the boxes from work and shipping by weight was much cheaper than flat rate envelopes/bubble mailers. $6.50 to send a cardboard sleeve, $2.45 to send a <2oz. parcel. Got the whole US/Canada lot out for about $50.

I sure hope it didn't get intercepted... Might look mighty suspiscious... I mean, how many times do you get physical spam mail that tells you its spam? I bet its laying around here somewhere. I shall look for it in the morning.

Quite simply, because I have thousands and use them in great quantity when scratchbuilding (I think there are about 250 on each side of my WIP Malcador). I've posted before about my feelings on 'sliced rod'/punched rivets and thought I'd give others a chance to try the microbead route that I find so much more appealing. Just chuck up something around a #70 bit, give a few twists to make a divot, and glue in your convincing dome-headed rivet.

Ok, on tangent to that, how would I go about glueing them? Do I dab some glue on the divot then apply the bead thingy?

Yep. I prefer to use either liquid superglue or gel in a very controllable bottle (like Loctite) - too much glue makes it insanely difficult to get the tiny bead to stick to the intended surface instead of your finger. Generally, I'll mark all of the holes (if they're to be regular, which requires measurement), drill all of the divots, then glue in the rivets in small batches to avoid premature setting of the CA. Five or so at a time seems to work well - 5 dabs of glue, apply five beads, then repeat on down the line.

It's worth adding that a spare bit of sprue is very handy for practice. It's not a difficult thing (merely tedious) to do, but if you don't already have a set of micro bits and accurate calipers or a micrometer, you'll need to size your drill bit to the beads by a combination of eyeballing and trial and error.

Another quick thing: after looking over all of the bitz you sent I can conclude that you will be getting a model back, but not an ork boy, but a mighty Loota.

I'm perfectly fine with that. He'll stay in my keeping for a bit, but this is kb's army, after all.

Good to hear our 'Merkan friends are getting in on it at last. RL is a real pig at times, and looks like you have made up for the delay with bells on Oadie, can't wait to see what people do with the extra goodies.

Any chance of a Brit pic? or are they packaged?

makes note to visit Sydney - cuz you know, reasons. Actually we have some other friends over there in Armidale that we're planning to see someday so it's possible!

Anyway, I'm not good at converting, I just have some of the WHF Orks (the old ones not the redone Black Orcs out now) so I wondered. I did just get some 40k ones tho so I shall contribute at least 1 to the mighty Dakka clan Orkiness.
