Balefull Realmgates are gone - They sold out and spoke with GW rep (LIMITED AND NO LONGER WILL BE MADE) - Stupid

How are new players supposed to get into the game down the road when they start pulling this - it is plastic - Make more. You would think they would want to get more out of the molds. same with older terrain - Come on!!!

They weren't announced as limited edition, were they? That doesn't seem right.

Well, more impetus to tell them where they can shove their limited editions, and just make your own?

Seems really odd, though. The page still says they're available for pre-order, while being sold out.

Can confirm that in the USA it says Sold Out, No longer available.

It make no mention of it being a limited release production, so GW looks like they have mislead the community in the States, shame on them.

What economic theory are they putting into practice here?

I don't think gw misled anyone here, people didn't buy it because it is marketed as limited release, only OP mentioned it.

I really wish they would indicate when a product is going to be limited availability in White Dwarf and on the website.

Honestly, I kinda saw this coming in any case. These showed up in Triumph & Treachery, which is in line with when GW was producing these terrain kits in China. They've pulled a lot of those kits now. Whether they'll be back soon(tm) or not, I don't know.

If you look at the site now, it says that they are only "temporarily out of stock."

My GW Manager (who I trust) says he was told today they are regular stock, just sold out of current inventory.

They are made in china, not in Nottingham, so probably can't make more now even if they wanted to. They are definitely a splash release though, and not permanent stock.

I don't think they are a splash (if by that you mean limited availability).

And recasters win again. Now, if people want these, they have go the illegal route or be gouged on eBay.

Sorry to disappoint, but they are. They are still available in the UK so there is a chance that if they don't sell they will be shipped over (like the space hulks that didn't sell your end were shipped back here) but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Up until last September I did, and my ear is still close to the ground.

Something is getting lost in translation internally at GW then, because my local manager said this:

"We just got info saying the new scenery will be regular stock. Sorry for the confusion folks"

Anyway, if they are limited then the communication of that from GW was lousy (non-existent really) on this release.

100% it is limited run. There is more scenery yet to come (ie chaos castle, ball cage (not the chastity belt type) etc) so that might be the confusion. Store managers don't get told anything until either the product brief or white dwarf arrives, both of which are usually only a couple of days before preorders go live, so speculation often gets mistaken for fact.

Strategy? I wouldn't even begin to try and work out any logic to it. If you want a set and don't mind paying the postage pm me and I can easily pop some in the post for you, it's only 5 minutes out of my day
