Subject: Crusade of Fury. (insert your forces into the crusade, for or against)
Contact----- TO ULTRAMIRINE WARSHIP VALINES REVENGE---- CAPTAINS EYES ONLY---
Such is your choice Captain, i will deliver the blade to its home should you fall in combat and present it to you upon your victory and full battle honours of my chapter, the venerable high chaplain Saladin is in agreement on that. However i have faith in your skills, all must face defeat, a true captain overcomes that barrier and fights on.
take that from a veteran of over 150 years of leadership at head of a crusade, and 65 of them in penance. defeat is not the end Captain, only a new enemy to overcome.
Also permit me to say, returning that sword may make you allies in your chapter more powerful than Captain Sciarous, one whom i have met before and know well of him during the crusade to liberate agrox 12 and the surrounding system.
Lord Karak out.
Spoiler:
My Marshall has seen potential in the younger Ultramarine, and of course the intrique of a potential Allie in a future captain, even chapter master. Powerful conections.....
And maybe somthing against sicarous...... Maybe maybe not....

Aboard the Dakkanator Kaptin Grinbad had again gatherd all the members of his WAAAGH! council The boss’s face was serious and without his normal orky eagerness. There were only a few dozen other orks around the massive boss. The primary members of the inner WAAAGH council were all in attendance. Kernal RuntWhippa the aged Goff Stormboy master of the of the air force, Big Mek BrainBreaka pilot of old Booma and head of research and develorkment, Zed Klockwog the the Bad Moon wizard who saved many orks from the exploding planet of Mogrok, he had healed mostly though he is now blind in both eyes, had taken to wearing a pair of goggles whose lenses were red in one eye and blue in the other. Krem BootBlazer who could not remove the look of anxiety he had stuck to his brutish face. And the lastly Gadnuk Eadwoppa the infamous blood axe Kommando.
Grinbad looked down to the remnants of his once powerful WAAAGH council, his Honork guard that once was a hundred mighty BadMoon Freebooter Flash Gitz, is now only ten. Also in the room were the nine Kaptins who had joined his fleet, Grinbad knew only Zlock “Da Blood baron” by name as he had been part of the fleet before Mogrok exploded. The ork looked out to his disappointing council and said nothing. A few moments passed and the orks beneath the stage looked at each other confused finnaly Gadnuk spoke up. “Boss if dis iz about shootin grots at a catapult at dem Tau boyz again Ive already told ya it won’t work.” The massive pirate garbed ork looked over to the nob kommando who looked miniscual by comparison and spoke low and menacingly “No dis iz about somefing you Blood Axes can’t possible comprehend, dis iz about loyalty, dis is about why we’z losein dis war to DA ZOGGIN OMIEA!” the orks in the room were all frightened by the fury in the freebooter’s voice. The war boss barked “It iz da Blood Axes fault dat we always zoggin loose, its der betrayal and der takticks dey makin us act all unorky fink about Dat Git Lud Blood Axe, Dem welps dat dun gone ta work fer da omies Blood Axes all of em. NO more am I gonna be zogged over by deez traitorous gitz effective immidatly all Blood Axes are to be killed on sight. So Gadnuk lissen ere ya Git biskit, if I want to use a zoggin catapult to shoot grots at da Tau. das what I'z gonna do, cuz I’m da boss and dats what I want to do and I'z sick and tired of deez takticks that you keep spillin from yer filthy Blood Axe gob, in fact get em boyz.”
Three large ork nobs approached the Kommando and Gadnuk as a last ditch effort yelled “Oi da Zog iz dat over dere” the nobs turned around to see nothing when they returned their gaze to the commando he had run over to a ventilation shaft and began prying the grate off. The warboss yelled as he drew his Sluga “after him ya gitz” but it was to late Gadnuk was able to slip his way down the air duct. The pirate lord yelled, “Find him, Find him and zoggin kill him. I want dat blood axe dead.” The Kaptins began fighting amongst themselves apparently one of them had been himself a blood axe, Grinbad turned his massive double barrel sluga to the Blood Axe Kaptin killing him with a single shot of the kustom weapon.
When the camouflaged Kaptin hit the ground the room settled. “I present to you the soon to be dead Gadnuk Eadwoppa’s replacement” from behind the stage came the massive Grunt GrimmTusk, a ork cybork who was a self proclaimed Super kommando. Grinbad smiled “Grunt ere gets what it means to be a proper ork. He knows might makes right and he iz ere to help us wif our blood axe problem.”
One week later
On the Mork’s Revenge Kaptin Lud sat at his command throne made from scrap salvaged from a blood raven land raider. They were in the shadow of the largest moon of Pallania the best hiding spot they could find, Pallania being a dead world was of no interest anyone ork or imperial. Lud was worried that his transmission never reached its intended targets. Lud looked around the bridge, mek boyz taping at computers and staring into glowing green monitors. Lud sat idle on his massive crimson chair pondering his next move. He could try to take another of the pieces for himself but even if he did he would have no idea where to find them or what to do with them. He could always just take his piece and leave the sector, find plunder and fights elsewhere, somewhere nobody knew what he did. Lud looked over to his second in command who stood at the kaptins side. Zogspitta was like Lud a blood axe but it would be impossible to guess based on his appearance he wore traditional freebooter garb that masked his origin, the only real proof was a blood axe skull tattoo on his chest, he kept that hidden beneath his shirt, a part of his history he bore some pride and shame over. Lud turned to Zogspitta making ready to speak when Crash.
The hull of the ship shook as a frightened mek boy spoke, “Boss we gotz Kruzas on our port and Starboard bows We’re surrounded!” Lud arose feom his seat and bellowed “How da Zog iz dat possible, How did dey find us and how did they get so close without us knowing” The Mek Boy spoke “I I I don’t know da scanners shoulda picked dem up.” Lud bellowed “ Fire everyfing we got at em everyfing!” Another Mek punched away at his console than looked back “Da Mega Git Finda ain’t respondin, I aint got no targets” Lud yelled “I said FIRE!” the mek shook his head and complied.
The Mork’s revenge unloaded an impressive barrage of lances, torpedoes, and random shoota fire into every direction however none of these found a target though. After This impressively desperate display the Mek spoke lowly “zero confirmed hits boss”. Another mek spoke “Boss I’m pickin up a transmission” Lud spoke with masked fear “play it”. He knew all to well what it was. The Mek punched the key board and the deep brutish voice of Kaptin Grinbad poured from the speakers. “Luuuuud, I’ve found you ya blood axe git, stay right where you are I’ll be there shortly.” The bridge went silent, Lud looked to the crew than moved to the mic built into his throne he made a ship wide announcement. “Zeknet report to da bridge, everyone else prepare to be boarded”
Almost a half hour passed in silence Zeknet was trying to open a warp portal to jump them out of here. Every time he opened a tear it collapsed on itself. Lud spoke with panic “Hurry up Grinbad will be here soon”. The Snake Bite weird boy shouted “I’m Zoggin tryin but normally I got two more warpheads here helping me.” It was at that moment more things struck the ship. A mek shouted “Boarding tubes have breached all levels”. Lud could hear explosions and fighting all throughout the ship so Lud turned his throne to face the large door that was the only entrance to the ships bridge.
The Mek crew aboard the Bridge had drawn their kustom slugas and made ready to face the enemy. Zogspitta had rounded up the boss’s new Honork guard seven of da biggest nobs he could find. Zeknet had given up on teleportation and began praying to both Gork and Mork for safe passage. Lud drew his revolving slugga and aimed at the door. His other robotic hand was set from normal hand mode to power klaw. Than the atomatic bay doors blew off their track. And Zogspitta yelled now.
The nobs members of Lud’s Honork guard seized Lud’s meks three grabbed Lud including Zogspitta, while another grabbed Zeknet in a mighty bear hug. Than from the smoke of the hallway came Grinbad in his great red kaptin’s coat. Lud struggled as the massive ork warboss slowly approached him. Lud raved “You git Traitors I’ll stomp ya I’ll stomp every last one of ya.” Lud wanted to throw a blow at the kaptin with his still fleshy fist but couldn’t and when he looked to his left he saw Zogspitta restraining him the ork now spoke without rage but disappointment “and you Zogspitta.” Zogspitta shook his head “I ain’t Zogspitta no more da name iz Brutus BigStomp” Lud spoke in reply “E Tu Brutus.” Lud than realized the extent of Brutus’s betrayal “You told dem where we wuz.” Brutus spoke “Aye, and I broke da Git Findas” Lud raged against his restrainers almost breaking free.
Lud was only a step away from Lud when he began to speak “Look at what your blood axe greed haz wrought you Lud” Lud struggled against his former Honork guards as he spat “Zog YOU ZOG YOU ALL.” Grinbad shook his head and spoke “It’s not entirely yer fault you know. Yer pathetic Blood axe brain just couldn’t resist da temptation to betray yer betters to try and get yerself ahead.” Lud spat a great green loogie at the Freebooter. Grinbad wiped the snot from his face and spoke to the traitorous nobs “let him go and take his shoota.” When released Lud charged Grinbad with his klaw but as he swung at the massive war boss grinbad drew his his massive power cutlass quickly hacking off Lud’s unwieldy arm. Lud stumbled back and drew his combat knife from his boot with his still green hand. Grinbad shook his head “Blood Axes such predictable fighters.” Lud laughed as he spoke “Shut yer gob you’da never find me if it wernt fer dis Blood Axe” Lud with his remaining arm lunged at his former second in command, Brutus tearing away at his shirt to try and reveal the blood axe insignia. Instead was only a heap of scarred tissue where the tattoo had once been, the clever git cut it out. Lud laughed not only did he sell out his kaptin but his clan as well. Zogspitta now Brutus, than pushed the ork back to the massive. Lud made one final attack with the knife but Grinbad caught his wrist and plunged his cutlass clear through the lesser war boss’s stomach. Lud fell to his knees griping Grinbad’s red coat. The dying ork let out a beloow “A PLAGUE A PLAGUE ON YOU AND YER MORK FORSAKEN WAAAGH!” he than turned to Brutus and grinned “I’ll be back fer you” the large green pirate than dropped heavily to the floor and died.
As Lud’s face down corpse began to seep thick dark blood, Grinbad retrieved his weapon and approached the nob holding the weirdboy. Zeknet was in shock he feared he was next as Grinbad approached him, he struggled with all his force to free himself from the nob’s clasp. Grinbad was inches away from his face when he spoke “You Zeknet” the frightened shaman shook his head. “I’m lookin fer good head bangers to help my weird boy get dis vault fing open, so I have a deal fer you. Pledge yer alligance and loyalty to me and I’ll let you live if you don’t I’ll kill you right now.” The snake bite shook his head vigorously as he spoke with his craven voice “Yes of course yer da boss I’ll help.” Grinbad smiled turned to the red command throne “Dis iz boss Grinbad anyone still fightin knock it off. All krew aboard dis ship will be given da opportunity to pldge der loyalty to der new kaptin, everyone else can join da old kaptin.” Grinbad stepped away from the intercom and approached Brutus “Do you swear yer undying allegiance to me, da great and mighty Grinbad da skurge of da Faustian system.” the nob shook his head “Aye” Grinbad spoke “Den I name you Kaptin of da Mork’s Revenge and overlord of it’s crew” The Ork smiled “Thank you Boss” Brutus snapped his fingers and a crew of Gretchen brought out the golden box that was key to the ritual on Gallor Prime. Grinbad smiled and gestured for his crew to take the box. The ork than turned away to return to his Flagship da Dakkanator when Brutus spoke “Boss What do we do now.” Grinbad stopped without turning around “Da omies and da chaos boyz got da last two pieces we need to open da vault so I fink it’s high time we paid them a little visit”
[spoiler] So I want to take a moment to plug my story about my Kommando character Gadnuk Eadwoppa, Its a fun series of orky tales and interesting characters who are in way over there green orky heads, and if you like I'm still open to character submissions if you want to be a part of the mob, and a few of the talented writers here have also contributed as well. Thanks for reading. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/648404.page

That's true, but the main man got ran through with a sword, but some ork allies are better than none. Nice references to Caesar and Romeo and Juliet by the way, they didn't go unnoticed.

------Contact Lord Karak----
Karak, I am deeply troubled to hear of this chaos corruption within the Wolverines Valiant. While fighting such odds does take its toll we are ashamed and dishonored that one of our one fell to such blasphemy. I wish you had gotten the word in time, we would of sent our Chaplin to purge the taint. I ask that all records and equipment of this fallen brother be purged justly and it too never be spoken on again.
I, Chapter Master Harbo, pledge before you and your men to right this wrong in a pentance. We shall purge this sector in a continued holy crusade until all Chaos taint is gone or until all Wolverines fall in service to the Emperor. I ask you be a witness and judge on this matter and to apply the purity seals when we meet again.
Signed,
Harbo
--------Transmission ended-------
Spoiler:
I would love to see your models, I have the Wolverines Valiant all painted but unsure how to upload them here.
"Our friends are no more" Lord General Kruger looked at the simple note. It had been placed by an agent he had never seen and would likely never see but knew exactly what it meant. His ploy to have the Orks fight their own demise had failed. The High Lords were pushing for greater victories and threatening to not deliver the reinforcements needed if victories were not won soon. He had needed a way to even the odds, after all there was no longer just Orks. Tau, Chaos and who knows what else lays in this sector. How his ally Orks had been defeated he was unsure but there are hopefully others out there who would take up the call for millions of "teef", he thought. The honorable Marines would never have signed off on such an act, to righteous to even think outside the box. Kruger would have exterminated the Orks when they were no longer useful but to the Marines this was heresy. Thankfully his family name had many contacts, contacts to even reach out to Ork Freebooters. Afterall Rogue Traders dont care where profits come from. Now though, what was he to do on the Western front? Maybe his friends had contacts outside of even Orks.....

Fear not Lord Harbo, his taint was not of the soul, the blade that struck your brother was tainted with foul poisons of chaos, the Brother willingly subject himself to testing and took the judgement with no resistance.
His honour would not let him risk tainting another so chose to act with nobiity to prevent this curses spread. his sefless action was a credit to your chapter.
However all records of this event will be sealed, no one but those present know and are sworn to secrecy. His armour was destroyed in accordance with the standard procedures.
Penence is not required Lord Harbo, my high chaplain stands in agreement, he has judged the case and decided that there is no stain upon your chapters honor.
" I Chaplain Saladin, High Chaplain of the Black Templar's and guardian of purity decree the Brother in question is no dishonor on your noble name and confirm the judgement of Lord Marshall Karak, PURITY SEAL OF OFFICE ATTACHED "

On board the vast training hall of the battlebarge 2 Marines walked in commanding the attention of the entire room, Lord Krak and Chaplain vargos clad in simple training body gloves and finely detailed robes marking there ranks and all present respectfully nodding as the veterans passed towards one of the combat cages placing robses on a ornate stand and a pair of weapon racks placed before them by the servitor attendants.
Two sets of a Combat blade blunted for training and a slender swords with long straight blades forged over two thousand years before, perfectly balanced and flawless master works of the weapnsmiths art, "
"Draw last time Brother Chaplain, lets see if your luck holds"
"Aye, a close one though Lord Marshall"
The two warriors paced round the cage and bowed as was due, Tradition was tradition. Blades clashed as two skilled veterans faced each other and the blades met faster than the human eye could comprehend with a skill few warriors in the entire imprirum could match they fought perfect attacks meeting flawless defense and precise evasion techniques. It was intense but calm skill, anger would merrily cloud there vision and allow the other the victory, the duel ended before it could be decided as SGT Tangir limped in, a skilled veteran his legs where lost in combat against the tyranids, only cruder augmentics had worked after the bio acid attack, too slow to serve on the frontlines but now served as equery, Comm officer and sometimes assisting in the training of new recruits.
"Lord Marshall, i regret to interfere but vital news about the mek world. such matters cannot wait"
Bowing to the Chaplain, the Marshall placed his weapons on the rack as he left the cage, "what news from the bridge SGT tangir?
"Dark eldar my Lord, the attack was not chaos, too precise, recon teams found evidence of the foul xeno's when preparing for extermitous, Chaplain Saladin has the cyclonics armed and ready, The banners reveal we believe its the same foul group that attacked the station at zeus prime 50 years ago. "
"very well, this changes much, order the fleet to raise alert status, Boarding stations to be manned at all times and fire the torpedo's soon as recon teams are out of range." "another time Vargos, another time"
Marshall Karak collected the robe, and strode off to the bridge to oversee the extermitous strike, such things he preferred to supervise himself.
Chaplain Vargos was stood now training a group of recruits in swordsmanship, though Brothers took most of there training he taught the higher arts of the sword to the most promising candiates, the training cages ringing with the sounds of steel on steel as he supervised and instructed.
*****
The planet was purged in Nuclear fire, even in high orbit it glowed and great shock waves tore its surface apart could be seen with the eye from the bridge, such was extermitous, no life would remain, not even ork spores could endure the fires and molten rock which now flowed down on the surface. High chomand would need to know about this development, "SGT Tangir, report our findings, and get Inquisitor Drax up here on the double"

Strike Force Panther, reporting in. Our forces on Volentis are still engaged with the Orks final defenses in Hive Scelata, the Greenskin fortifications proving more difficult to crack than initially expected. Our support unit from the 121st has suffered heavy losses during a night raid by Ork Kommandos, which has left them undermanned to continue the siege much longer; the worst blow however seems to have landed on Lt Col Truax, who has been turned into a gibbering wreck, presumably as a result of the highly traumatic experience of the brutal ambush. Several other soldiers are suffering from shell shock as well and have been moved further behind the front lines to recover.
As I feel that I am not in a position to appoint a successor for Lt Col Truax, I would request Crusade Command to decide which of the other officers to put in charge of the 121st.
Our Scout units are still occupied on Grimdi, where they have entered the planet's southern jungles in search for the source of the mysterious object they recovered earlier in the campaign. Our last communications with them date several days ago, and they have been effectively dropped of the grid entirely ever since. We suspect that the density of the jungle is interfering with their comms equipment, but we cannot rule out Xenos involvement.
With your permission, I will send a small force to search for them once we have dealt with the Greenskins on Volentis.
Strike Commander Tullius out.
Meanwhile, on the surface of Gallor Prime...
Tel Asag sat in a dark alley, his eyes fixated on the guard post around the corner. He stared intently at the guardsmen on the battlements, who were busy doing their rounds as distractedly as humanly possible. It had been quiet the past few days, save for the storm that had been hanging over them, which drenched every surface with its perpetual rain. Even now, Tel Asag heard the small drops ticking on his armour continuously as he sat motionless in the filth-stained alley. He stared upwards towards to sky, his eyes trying to pierce through the dense formation of dark clouds in search for Gallor Prime's moon. Alas, even his enhanced, daemonic eyes could not look through these clouds.
A pity. He really liked this planet's moon. Its light reminded him of Calth.
How glorious that had been.
He shifted his weight around, as he peeked around the corner again. The guards were still there, walking around, barely paying any attention to their surroundings. It would be all too easy to sneak up on them. His mouth began to water at the thought of ripping their throats out with his teeth. His serpent-like tongue flicked a spot of blood from his cheek, a reminder of his last all too unfortunate victim. He would have to be patient for a while longer. Soon, there would be more than enough subjects to sate his appetite.
Soon, he thought. Very soon.
Tel Asag and two of his brothers had been sent in as support for the Alpha Legion operatives who were to gain some intelligence on the situation on Gallor Prime. They were currently busy raiding some nobleman's private residence a few blocks away, which had left him to watch the nearest Imperial Guard outpost in case someone at the residence managed to raise an alarm.
He had never thought he would pray so badly for someone to sound the alarms.
He could smell them, all twenty-three guardsmen currently in the outpost. He took a deep breath, savoring their scent. So innocent and relaxed. He would see those sentiments eradicated soon enough. A shiver of excitement went down his spine as he imagined how he would slaughter them, how horrified they would look at him, how useless their resistance would be.
"Soon", he whispered to the night, "Very soon indeed."
A noise from behind him caught his attention. There was a faint scent of roses coming towards him, accompanied by a more earthly smell, both of which were covered in the dampness of the rain. He heard a soft, female voice berating a louder, protesting voice, as they approached the entrance to the alley he was sitting in.
"I've told you a dozen times to stay away from that place Mikhael, why do you never listen! If Mother finds out about this then she will-"
The girl's voice stopped dead in its tracks when she and her brother turned into the alley, which a crimson-armoured giant was sitting at the end of. Both their eyes opened wide as they noticed the giant's leering, daemonic skull, two horns raising from his forehead towards his backpack. Two glowing yellow eyes gazed at them, filling them with a feeling of absolute dread.
So shocked they were, they didn't even try to scream or run away, they merely stood there, trembling at the sight of this devil that walked the earth.
"Run on home now, children", Tel Asag whispered, his tongue slowly licking over his teeth.
"You wouldn't want the boogeyman to find you, would you?", he continued ever so softly, a crooked grin forming across his face.
The girl grabbed her paralyzed brother by the arm and ran into the adjacent alley, their footsteps increasing in speed as they fled, until the sound of their steps was drowned out by the rain again. Tel Asag smiled, but as he turned back to the street, he was startled by the sound of an explosion coming from several blocks away. Immediately afterwards, the outposts' klaxons began wailing, as the guardsmen began to shout to awaken their sleeping comrades.
Tel Asag looked up to the sky and grinned. He kept grinning as Chimeras were powered up and heavy boots began to march out of the outpost. He began to laugh as the first men began to approach his position. The rain began to fall out of the sky even harder, as if it too was building up to a crescendo, and Tel Asag roared to the jet-black night in maniacal enthusiasm as the first guardsman passed his alley and made the mistake of looking in.
Spoiler:
The Remnants are causing trouble again! I'm not quite sure how the numbers system works yet, but I'll pick 52 for now

Hyperion: My lord, we've arrived. Shall I mobilise the strikeforce?
Aurelius: Not yet, Legate. Let them have their rest. Double the watch on the planet, and inform Fleet Commander Vandis that I want all power diverted to augurs.
Hyperion: Aye, at once. *pause* Might I say, Acting-Captain, that your wound has healed rather admirably. Apothecary Venatio has done an exceedingly good job on you. You're looking better than you did.
Aurelius: Is that really? It doesn't feel like it.
*pause*
Hyperion: Is... something the matter?
*smashing glass, probably from a lamp hitting the floor*
Aurelius:*snarls in frustration* Fething Sicarius! And that Templar too! How can I lead a strikeforce when I'm too concerned about losing my head if something goes wrong? And the Templar, always victorious and proud, conquering worlds left and right. And what have we taken? Three, and two score Ork vessels, and Chormi has been sabotaged by orks. And he has the gall to condescend me on my failures? *sigh* Why are we here, Legate?
Hyperion: We follow you, my lord.
Aurelius: Still? Do you still believe that, Legate?
Hyperion: Aye. On the honour of the Chapter.
Aurelius:*chuckles* Honour. What of honour? We didn't have the honour of claiming the blade, Hyperion. It's not ours by conquest, yet it is by blood. Our blood, blood of my blood, in the hands of the Black fething Templars? What then? I risk dishonour taking it from him, or dishonour by not returning with it. And I won't give him the satisfaction of asking for it.
*pause. Aurelius is breathing heavily.*
Hyperion: There is a way, isn't there?
Aurelius: Aye. There is. The one way I can redeem myself and justify to Sicarius the validity of our deployment in this crusade.
Hyperion:*mutters something uder his breath --vox not optimised for pickup-- * You don't mean-
Aurelius: We need his head, Hyperion. Skulkrusha must fall by my hand.
Vox extract ends.
Spoiler:
I like mixing up my tenses and styles, so prepare for it in theatre-style script! On a side note, I enjoyed added this detail and internal conflict for Aurelius. Not all wars are fought with guns and swords in this crusade, it would seem! I apologise still for the lack of killing or progress on my front, but I'll change that soon.

I apologize for not writing that much fluff for my guys also. I'm rather terrible at writing actual fluff, so I mostly prefer to have my guys' fluff explained through a series of messages to either crusade command or other commanders.

Lord Commander Jeremiah
So basically I'm itching to have my boys do something, so I'm opening up the stormtrooper regiment of my force to join anyone who needs them so my guys can (finally) make an appearance.

As you are no doubt aware, we have suffered greatly on our interior front, with the previously liberated world of Chormi attacked by Ork Kommando scum. Our current forces are stretched too thin to hunt the perpetrators down, but we can't delay in securing Chormi to gain new recruits for the crusade. Henceforth, we beseech you for aid with your trained Kasrkin boys to hunt down these foul aliens. You'll fit right in, with us being Cadian born and bred, so feel free to operate under your own orders as you see fit. We would welcome your aid.

I hope you guys don't mind me writing all these short stories about my guys, it's just that writing them's a lot of fun (especially as I can use it to flesh out my characters as well) and I'm not that great with the logistics part of military operations
Maybe the OP of this thread should be updated a bit, as there's been a bunch of new forces running around the Charadon system at the moment and it's starting to become a bit difficult to keep up with all of them Also, perhaps we should make a list of all the planets our forces have come across, so new people have more of an idea of what's where
For starters, I'll post the forces I've currently got running around the system:
Strike Force Panther:
Death Ravens Chapter - Strike Force - led by Commander Tullius
Charidian Guard - Infantry Batallion - led by Lt Col Komnenos
Chaos Warband:
The Remnants warband - led by 'The Commander'
Also, here's the planets I've encountered so far:
Western Front:
Grimdi (Grimdi Sector) - Status: Under investigations following discovery of Xenos artifact - Ork Presence: Few, mostly survivors from the defeat against Ultramarines and Wolverines Valiant Forces
Spoiled because it is pretty long and a little graphic. (Nothing serious at all, but I figure some might deem it so.)
Spoiler:
Oracheis had been standing in the same place for the last 16 hours, still trying everything in his power to decipher the transmission. His inability to crack the transmission open was nearly driving him over the edge. With Archarus being plotted against by many others, he had served with several of them for centuries, he knew he must make himself useful enough to be kept around in the case of a new Warsmith. Deciphering the message would make sure he stayed around. Not just that, but that the orks, of all the xenos he had met, it was orks that beat him in a game of wits. The very thought was an insult to who he was, and Oracheis did not like to be made a fool of.
Archarus stalked the corridors of the battleship, more focused on his thoughts than where he was going. After the latest mess up that costed him two different ships in a raid before he even reached planetside, he wasn't a popular sight.
They are fools the thought came unbidden into his head. They are not necessary. Archarus shoved the thoughts down, he didn't need to plot against his own men, they were doing enough of it to go around already.
"Hello, Warsmith, it's a surprise to see you here, instead of holed up in your quarters sulking" Archarus recognized the voice before he turned around.
"Speak like that again and your tongue will be dangling from a necklace, Rahsal." As Archarus turned to the berserker behind him he reached for his hammer. Crush him. He stands no chance, the thought came unbidden into his head.
Rahsal saw the movement and drew his chainsword, but kept it at his side. "Worried, Warsmith? Can't handle an actual challenge? You always were weak Archarus, you never should have been Warsmith."
At this last remark a cold rage sprouted into Archarus' twin hearts, which he tried to suppress. Kill him. He is not Iron. Archarus couldn't put much focus to his own mind, as Rahsal revved his chainsword and said one last remark before charging at Archarus. "With me as Warsmith, this warband will see victory. I can taste it in the air, as much as your own failure."
Archarus bellowed out a challenge and swung at Rahsal's gut, hoping to give the wretch a slow death. The warrior dodged the blow and swung his blade at Archarus' neck. Archarus simply ducked, and kicked outwards at the usurper.
Rahsal didn't see the improvised attack coming, and he heard a sickening crunch as his leg was forced beyond the breaking point. Archarus used his injury to his advantage, and swung upwards, catching the renegade with a glancing blow to his jaw.
The marine stumbled backwards, and Archarus took his time to reach him. Finish the coward. His bark is much worse than his bite.
"You are weak, Rahsal. After I take your head and wipe your name from all records. You will be no more." Archarus let the words tumble out of his mouth, his own anger preventing him from thinking straight. Something is not right. I am no berskerker, lost to the rage of battle.
The rage of battle is what makes us strong. It is what leads to victory. The voice came again, and it doubled his fury.
Rahsal simply stared at Archarus as he layed a hand on his cracked helmet. Archarus took another step forward and raised his hammer.
"You were always weak, Archarus. But never did I think you gullible" As he said the words he lunged forwards, sending his chainsword into Archarus' gut. As the blade roared in protest at trying to grind through the terminator armor Archarus swung a final blow into Rahsal's collarbone, making the renegade crumple to the floor.
The chainsword had started to cut into Archarus' insides when he yanked the blade out and threw it away.
Archarus took a moment to look at the corpse at his feet, and the voice spoke once more See? The rage let you kill this coward. You have passed the test. If you serve us, you will be rewarded. Have a taste of your future, if you submit. This time, the voice revealed its true self, coming off as an ancient creature that made Archarus feel feverish as it spoke.
"Who- what, are you?" Even as he spoke his stomach wound healed, and he felt stronger than he had in centuries. Instead of answering back with words, chains of images and emotions flashed through his mind, and Archarus liked what he saw. There were images of him leading his men into battle, and them standing over mounds of slain loyalists. He felt pride, and a sense of achievement that this Imperial Crusade had denied to him.
"I accept. Show me the path, and your enemies will be slain."
The voice chuckled a hideous laugh at Archarus and said My enemies? I am simply here to see if you are capable, and bask in the bloodshed that entails. Now, one last gift before I part.
Archarus couldn't say anything before the body at his feet shuddered with life and clumsily stood up. "Now, Archarus, do you see the strength of your new allies. Welcome. Welcome to the ranks of Khorne."
At the mention of the blood god Archarus felt shame for bowing to him, but he was desperate to get an edge over his renegades who were getting bolder by the second. Archarus made to speak, but the possessed body of Rahsal coughed out a spittle of blood and shook violently. Soon the undead folded in on itself, cracking its own reinforced spine as the daemon left, a menacing laugh that hung on the air a reminder of its presence.
Archarus left the ruined body where it was at and turned towards where his chambers lay. He had new agendas to fulfill. He couldn't fail his new lord, or death would be the last of his worries.
Oh, and is Archarus' fall any good, fluffwise? I didn't want to depict Khorne as just RAGE, because that's boring, and I can't imagine all daemons of his are like that. I would also like to know if, even if it is crap, is it better than Horus' fall in the HH series? (I haven't read them yet, to my shame)

The burning pits of Hades, also known as Sweden in summer
With an agonised shriek of surreal proportions, somehow audible even in the vacuum of space, a jagged sword-like shape tore itself free into the material universe. Leaving behind a shred of unreality in its wake, this tear quickly vanished, leaving naught but deafening silence in its wake.
'Sorcerer, we have reached the destination you indicated.' Sharikh didn't even bother to nod to that. What would be the point? To acknowledge the information? Of course they had reached the destination. Even if they had not, he knew everything that happened on its ship. He could sense every piece of its fell body. Its skin was pitted and marred by the scars of millennia of war, yet it remained fully operational and able, maintained in what was functional and ignored in what was decorational.
In that, it mirrored its warband.
With a silent sigh, he decided to speak regardless. 'Good accuracy, Skarlos. Keep the Serpent's Revenge moving forward. I will tell the coven to signal the rest of the fleet. Notify me if the Lord has new orders for us.'
The massive Contemptor Dreadnought, far larger than the Sorcerer, still moved rather ably across the equally oversized bridge. It housed hundreds of soul-bound slaves, capable but mindless, working with an admirable effectiveness yet the creativity of a Plague-Zombie. Not that it mattered, a Servitor would do their work just as well. The Dreadnought stepped between the control consoles to the grand throne seated on the other end. The throne, forged of an unknown red metal, housed a single warrior, with ten others standing guard around him, all clad in white Terminator armour trimmed with the same red metal seen on the throne.
As the Dreadnought and the figure conversed silently over a private vox, Sharkih continued downwards from the bridge, towards the Sorcerers' coven, where his subordinate weavers of the Warp awaited him. He had many things to do, and little time, but it was things he had done many times before and it did not stress him in the slightest. First, the rest of the fleet would need to be signaled. The Serpent's Revenge was just as powerful as, if not more powerful than, the day it was stolen from the Thunder Dragons some three thousand years ago, but if Lord Kraxis indeed intended to bring war to the Charadon system, they would need more than their flagship.
Kraxis. Sharikh. Skarlos. Karnus. Morgath. Lodarak. Kashgor. Kharaxx. Kadeus. Thakar. Saecelius. Septarus Vrakk. Haegon. Zared. Halthrakk. Joraz. Rikhan. Ashkaar. Enzok. Tabris. Elenthas. Shanaros. Of the almost five hundred warriors who betrayed the Thunder Dragons all those years ago, only twenty-two yet lived. Now the Glacier Serpents' ranks were filled by the ones they had since recruited or defeated. Warriors serving any or all Chaos Gods, following any way of war, all united in the white colours of the Glacier Serpents, and under the banner of Kraxis' clawed star. One thousand eight hundred and ten warriors, as well as vehicle crews, specialist officers, and innumerable hordes of crazed cultists. Many of the Astartes were newer recruits or battered renegades who had not even repainted their armour. Their deaths would bring the Serpents no tears. The Serpents themselves, though... Sharikh cared little for his subordinates, in truth, but his enormous spite and pride left him loath to have the disciplined and well-equipped Serpents wasted. Sharikh could see their souls, waiting in the Warp aboard their ships. Kraxis had mustered a mighty force indeed - everything the Glacier Serpents had, in fact. The only uncertainty was their Lord's purpose. None could truly tell what Kraxis' whims were rooted in, yet they rarely led the Serpents astray.
He counted them through in his mind. Huntsmaster Kashgor would be aboard the Woe of Karyvan with his bike squads, along with most of their heavy armour and daemon engines as well as Septarus Vrakk. No doubt Vrakk's Warpsmiths and Chirumeks were not far away either. Kharaxx, Saecelius and Karnus would be aboard the Everspeaking Voice with their respective cult troops, as well as Sharikh's own Tzeentch-dovoted warriors, and he had no doubt he would be assigned to that ship eventually. Dread General Lodarak would be mustering the most powerful force, their Stone Guard Terminators, Chosen and Marine squads abord the Eye of Obsidian, along with Thakar's Raptors and Kadeus' Havocs. Morgath and his subordinate Dark Apostles, as well as the cult horde they were whipping into a frenzy, would be swarming all over the Bloodied Hand.
That left only himself, Lord Kraxis, and Fleetmaster Skarlos on the Serpent's Revenge. Along with the ten Frost Wyrms, of course. Elenthas led the rest of the elite Terminator squad and they rarely left their Lord's side.
A mighty force, indeed. Sharikh flexed his gauntleted fingers. But the Imperium's force would no doubt be mightier still, especially with the local Xenos forces taken into account, and the Glacier Serpents could not afford a costly fleet battle with vital commanders aboard each ship. As his coven signaled the fleets to move alongside them on the other side of the Empyrean, he admittedly knew what their next orders would be. To split up, and await the time for the serpent to strike.
Despite himself, he smiled coldly. This will be interesting.

Location: Central/Eastern Front. No specific Location due to being purely Fleet Based now that Mogrok is gone.
Army:
Navy: 1 Battleship (Heart of Iron) - Main HQ
3 Light Raider Class Ships
2 Heavy Raider Class Ships
Leadership: Archarus is the disputed Warsmith, and is under threat of several others seeking his position of Warsmith. Newfound allegiance to the Blood God in hopes of strengthening his leadership and enforcing fear into his forces.
Hope this helps, and I hope the navy force isn't unrealistically strong or weak. (Yet another thing I haven't much expertise in is ship battles.)

The Lord General in an attempt to perhaps receive even more support from the Black Templars has held a banquet in celebration of their recent string of victories against both ork and chaos forces. Normally Marshal Karak would refuse such festivities but Kruger had promised to return the chapter relics he has in his possession and The Lord General had imported casks of Fenrisian ale and mead, making the offer difficult to refuse. However little did they know that the focal point of the was of far greater importance than a political bargaining chip.
Kruger sat at his desk Inside his office. He inspected the hilt of the broken sword. It’s handle was made of black steel and its pummel bore the Templar’s chapter insignia. He thought to himself what shame it would be leaving his company there will be a hole on his trophy. He was thinking of what could replace it, perhaps a warboss’s skull or some exotic piece of Tau tech, though none of those would have the same impressive story that this artifact had.
Eight centuries ago the blade had belonged to Chaplain Cahllamier Sandor, the blade broke when the chaplain slew a demon prince, banishing it back to the warp. But before the demon was dragged back into the warp he took the chaplain. His brothers thought that the demon had left nothing for them to recover. It would seem that the chaplain either lost grip of the broken sword hilt or he discarded, but it was later recovered by the local planetary government. The planetary governor had gifted the sword hilt to Kruger on his promotion to lord general, as he was a close friend to the Zonad family.
It was at this time that Kruger’s personal assistant entered the room. Kruger looked up from the broken weapon and spoke with an impersonal “yes?”. The young man in a formal officer’s uniform spoke respectfully “My Lord the Marshal has arrived” Kruger smiled “Excellent, ready my evening best” the assistant saluted and prepared the general’s outfit. Twenty minutes of assisted dressing later, Kruger was ready to join the festivities.
Meanwhile
The massive nob was squeezing his way through the ventilation system with four of his sneakiest boyz. All was going to plan the umiez thought their rock they had come in on was an asteroid, and their breaching action had gone completely undetected, thanks to the handy work of big mek BrainBreaka. They had thought of everything they bribed a a umie to give than a copy of the ships layout. The Kommandos even bathed thoroughly in umies soaps so that their smell wouldn’t betray them. Now all was left to do was get the artifact and get out.
As the orks crawled through the shaft they had finnaly reached the spot marked on the blue prints. ZitGit a scrawny dark green ork spoke lowly “Dis iz it boss, dat umie said he keeps da choppa in ere.” Grunt nodded and broke the grate that led down into the general’s office. As the group of five decended they observed the umie boss’s office.
It was disgustingly ornate or it was so in an ork’s opinion. One of the orks a brutish one by the name of BladeRippa noticed a painting on the wall and questioned “Oi iz dat dere boss” ZitGit chimed in “Nah no way da gitz too skinny” another ork Gobcutta spoke “Believe it or not da umies don’t pick da biggest or da strongest to be boss.” The last goff spat “backwards gitz deez umies are” Grunt yelled in a low whisper “Shut yer gobs we need to get da choppa and get da zog out of ere.” Grunt than saw the glass trophy case and smiled “ello”
Grunt looked around the trophy case trying to find the sword. There were pieces of tau tech, various ork skulls and teef, along with a plethora of other random bits. But than in the center of the rack was the sword. BladeRippa laughed “Wouldn’t be right if we took dis wif out leaving da omies a gift would it.” Grunt laughed “No No it would not”
later
Kruger and Karak headed to the Lord General’s office, walking at a leisurely pace down the ships corridor. Kruger spoke to the massive astartes “I hope you and your men enjoyed the festivities Marshal.” The Marshal loosened by the powerful Fenrisian brew couldn’t resist the urge to smile “I enjoyed it immensely but I’m afraid many of my brothers don’t enjoy festiveness as much as I.” Kruger found the statement funny but refused to laugh. Kruger spoke as the two turned the hall to arrive at the final stretch of there journey, “I am glad to see this artifact returned to its rightful owners.” The massive marine shifted in his plate as he said “As am I” The two were at the foot of the when Kruger put his hand to the palm scanner. When the automated doors open the Lord General stepped in, pulling the trip wirer.
Karak had tried to stop the general but by the time he even noticed the trap the man’s foot was already pressed against wire. The explosion was three feet away from the formally dressed general, it is likely that he would have died had it not been for Karak quickly tackling him to the floor. Kruger held his hand over his left eye as Karak yelled “Are you all right” the general spoke quickly “I’m fine, I’m fine.” Karak already knew what caused the explosion crude ork stikk bombs. Zonad stood up slowly and stumbled over to where the sword had been Karak accompanied him. Zonad’s voice was weak “It was here” the man pointed to a spot on the case, there was no sword but there was a red a piece of crude paper stuck to the wooden trophy case with a knife. Karak picked it up and read it aloud to to the Lord general “Tanks fer da memories.”
Two hours later
Grunt and his small team entered the bridge, the lesser ork boyz knelt as the nob approached the massive green pirate. Grunt unwrapped the broken black steel blade from the cloth he covered it in. Grinbad smiled as the ork got to one knee and presented it to him. “You’ve done well Grunt.” The large Goff komando smiled “Thank you boss.” Grinbad took the blade it fit his hand small even though it was built for a space marine. The Broken Blade, Bronze Chest, and Black three eyed skull were all his, all that remained was Staff. Grunt spoke “We gotta get da staff now from dem Chaos ladz.” The great green pirate smiled and shook his head “da vault iz as good as ours.” Grunt spoke lowly “You want me to steal dat fer ya” Grinbad shook his head “Not dis time, I got somefing else in mind fer dem”

Sqauds beta, julius fall in on me, kill anything that tries to stop us. protocol breach delta"
"aye Lord Karak,"
shocked by events the general followed, right now he was safer than he ever was in his life, a phalanx of marines formed up, massive guns and sheer mass ensuring a clear path was made,
"follow me General, your wounds will be treated aboard Emperors Vengeance, then i will have teams assist in searching your ship. "
"thank you Lord Karak mumbled the shocked and bleeding general"
Back aboard the Emperors Vengeance, the Bridge was on high alert and the Lord general was being treated, it was likely his eye would need cybernetic replacement. shrapnel damage was severe and even if it recovered it was likely to be impaired to at least some degree. "any breachs Tangir?"
"no my lord, we repelled a small party of orks but they where dispatched at the secondary security bulkhead."
"good, deploy seach teams to the Generals ship to support the storm troopers, if its ork, kill it. "
once that was done, then it was time to take the head of the damn pirate if he ever came across it he thought. as demanding the crusade campaign was, time could be made for that particular vile xeno.
The medical bay was spartan but well equipped, The General was being treated by a human doctor and one of the chapters Apothecarys clad in stark all white Armour was monitoring a bank of machines and preparing several more advanced treatments, he was lucky, very lucky, he would have to up his security, maybe even request a Marine bodyguard, that was pushing it but maybe....
Spoiler:
Lucky for the General, now i might have to bring in my reserve forces as this warzone is heating up fast

Battle Barge Emperors Vengeance-----------------------------------------------------------------Lord Marshall Karak

loaned units
Cadian 9th Armored
Cadian 17th Regiment (both deployed in mopping up and removing the last of the known ork positions that the deathkorps where unsitied for)
Fleet is in the centre, pushing forward carefully. reserves may be deployed if more traitors take the field to balence the odds a tadge. i don't want to overwhelm it. i can roll out eternal crusader or temper reinforcements if people want, and a few imperial fists, if things get too bad the phalanx is not impossible only about 4000 more templers i can call upon lol

In the Warp, getting trolled by Tactical_Spam, AKA TZEENTCH INCARNATE
The Sorcerer stood motionless at the centre of his quarters, as his mind's eye reached outwards into the future, showing him visions of what was to come. As always, the images were rather cryptic, requiring additional psychic inquiries to gain anything useful from them. He saw strange things passing his eyes, amongst them:
- A serpent of ice, twisting and coiling around planets, its multiple heads encircling the entire system;
- An Ork Kruiser, radiating with the same malefic power as the staff he had taken from the ancient temple on Mogrok, making its way towards the Remnants' ship;
- A flock of black and purple ravens, caught in the web of a silver spider;
- An Ultramarine, weeping for the comrades he lost, as a city burned behind him.
- And an iron fist, drenched in blood, raised to a black sky.
He opened his eyes, the insight in the future making him weary. It was the talent he liked to use as little as possible, for he knew that to know the future was to invite disaster. He preferred facts over speculation, which is why he sent out his mind to search for more substantial information.
He detected a large psychic concentration tearing itself through the fabric of reality, which then started to fragment as soon as it had arrived. Would this be the multi-headed serpent he had seen? The psychic power coming through the hole made it clear this was the work of a Sorcerer Coven, meaning another pawn of Chaos had joined the fray.
The Sorceror concluded that whoever they were and whatever they wanted, it would be best to avoid them as long as possible. He himself was tremendously powerful, but facing an entire Coven alone would equate to suicide.
The Ork Kruiser approaching their position was a more troubling visage; especially as it seemed to have a link to the artefacts they themselves had been looking for. The past few weeks had proven that keeping the artefacts out of both the Loyalists' and the Traitors' hands was a hazardous endeavour, and if the Orks got involved things could get messy faster than they'd like.
They would have to hasten the preparations for the strike on Gallor Prime. To delay much longer would be to risk detection by their many enemies, and that was a price they could not afford.
Not when they were so close.
The next vision was both reassuring and concerning; the ravens were a metaphor for their pursuers, the Death Ravens, and seeing them tangled up in other affairs meant they wouldn't be able to interfere with the warband's plans. He could not find an explanation for the silver spider, however; and his gut told him it'd be better not to find out too soon.
The Ultramarine weeping for his comrades was also a rather clear image; he had felt Acting-Captain Aurelius' presence the second he had entered the system. A troubled soul, but it would seem that the universe had grand plans for him in the future... not all of which very pleasant, apparently.
The bloodied iron fist could mean a lot of things, but the Sorcerer guessed it concerned the Iron Warriors they had run into on Mogrok. Their leader's psychic footprint had been growing ever since he arrived in the Charadon system, and the Sorcerer could only speculate as for the reason behind that. To hope that the bloodied fist indicated their defeat was foolish, and he knew all too well not to draw conclusions on the future too soon.
The Sorcerer sighed, as he let the knowledge of the past few weeks wash over him again.
A Loyalist Crusade, Greenskins infesting every corner of this system, Chaos warbands seeking an opportunity to ravage their enemies, stray T'au interlopers and mysterious daemonic artefacts with apocalyptic powers who were highly contested.
A lesser man might have asked himself in what mess he'd gotten himself into. The Sorcerer was no such man. He knew exactly what he'd gotten himself into.
And more importantly, why.
Spoiler:
More mystery! More I say!
