Always seems fair to be honest. The Anal Probes not the higher power.

Anyway, This has gotten offtopic to indiana jones, vhs and geopolitics of Star Wars??

Huh, I don't know if I should be impressed, or scared out of my witts. The Internet a place not for hams.

I had the original Star Wars on VHS but Leonard Nemoy took it from me while wearing an Ewok mask.

Star Wars has always had a rabid fan base and has always been about marketing and commercialization. So if you're getting upset about opening night festivities put on by 'fan boys' and the hype surround what is probably the most anticipated movie ever, you are either don't know much about the history of the franchise or you're feigning outrage for whatever reason.

I'm going to the 9:30 AM showing on Saturday, so I'll miss out on all of the Slave Leia costumes.

I still have the theatrical version of the trilogy on VHS -- it's that last set they did before Lucas started his tinkering. That's what I showed my older son when it was time for him to finally see Star Wars. Broke out the VHS player and everything. Grainier picture, sure, but it was Star Wars as it was and should still be.

To be fair they're releasing the original star wars- ie the initial release one shortly so people who love the untampered versions of Episodes IV-VI can get their mitts on it.

I feel a rant against Star Wars coming on.

Thing is - would the mods allow such a rant?

I gotta admit, I'm probably going to wear a cloak and a lightsaber attached to my belt for the show. Seriously, how can you not?!

On a bonafide on-topic note, I read that issue of Shattered Empire. Stuff happens, but it's essentially an issue devoted to setting up the fact that the Damerons had a piece of the Jedi temple tree -- said to be with the Force per Luke -- growing in their backyard.

So yeah, I'd say it's definitely important in our consideration of Poe Dameron.

When my father died, We cleaned out his house. he had a filing cabinet full of VHS. None of us wanted it. so we left it there. not only did when we left I remember he had the original VHS of star wars. Im kicking myself over that. Not only that, but I found out later the VHSes(?) go for ALOT of money, especially rare ones. I bet there was a gem or two in there.

I still have a copy of ANH in the original VHS slip cover. The cover is really beat up though. Dunno where it is, but it's not special edition: it's the original VHS cut. I also still have the full special edition in the gold and black Vader head box. That thing is in pretty decent condition.

I have the original trilogy on VHS, "remastered in THX". I'm pretty sure it's the video is identical to the original release. (Han shot first, ect, ect).

Fans have already put a "super cut" trailer out. It connects things better and gives you better insight into what is actually happening.

Not a fan of the super-cut trailer, still jumps around too much to be a solid piece IMO.

There is some stuff that looks out of place too, namely the Special Forces TIE shooting up the hangar. The general consensus is that is Finn escaping prior to crashing on Jakku.

I wish they would just release the whole film, then we wouldn't need to bother to go to the cinema to see it.

I have this one.

It goes to show you how much ego was involved with Lucas and Star Wars. Look at what we're talking about -- it suggests that there's a market for the original theatrical release, and yet somehow it's only happening now that Disney has taken over.

I had the original three on VHS, can't remember if they were the THX version or earlier. Unfortunately I chucked them out when I packed all my stuff to go to Japan in 2007.

It would be great if Disney would release them again on DVD or Blu-Ray.

Seems unlikely, since he looks nothing like Luke, and Star Wars has always been fairly big on clones being identical...
