As far as I know, the Kamino Rebellion still took place (or rather, nothing so far as said it didn't), but by the end of the Clone Wars there were several other planets or businesses getting on cloning. Ren sarcastically suggests to Hux that he replace his troops with clones, so I'm assuming the technology is still around.

I was more referring to "Rogue 1". The first Dark Forces game had Kyle stealing the DS plans. Of course there were dozens of other stories through the years that had other people steal them so I'm not exactly nerd raging that they're changing it for Rogue 1. Still, it would be nice if Kyle was involved somehow.

I don't even understand why. Instead of Kyle, they choose a completely random person. Why? He and Jan made an awesome team, you can easily make a good movie about the two with cool one-liners and a lot of action. By using the already established characters, you would have made us older fans smile and Disney's target audience wouldn't care either as they don't know Kyle Katarn. I just don't get it.

It shows why he needed a strict leash. He's only talking about the special effects. Thats the problem, left to his own devices only the special effects appear alive. Everything else-actors, plot, writing, direction appear as wooden as Treaty Oak or the HMS Victorious.

Yeah, I'm not sure he realizes that most people don't give a feth what he has to say since is he pretty much single-handedly responsible for ruining Star Wars for an entire generation of people.

You have to give him credit, creating a whole world for one generation, and then destroying it the next. That takes skill.

Anyways, I know lots of people (myself included) that don't think The Force Awakens is an 'unoriginal remake' of Star Wars.
ANH was inspired by a lot of sources and was, story-wise, in no way original. It's a fantasy/sci-fi space opera with very traditional tropes, but it perfectly fit its time, had a good amount of action mixed with adventure and memorable moments (Han shot first!).
Saying that TFA isn't a remake / re-imagination of ANH is delusional. The basic story is almost the same and Abrams basically copied a lot of scenes, there are a ton of really good comparison images out there. You can like it, you can hate it, you can think it's okay, but you cannot deny its lack of originality in terms of it mostly being a remake instead of a new movie.

You're describing two different things here and I don't think you realize it. By the way, Star Wars was much more than just "inspired" by a lot of sources, considering the attack on the Death Star is a damn near shot-for-shot remake of the climax The Dam Busters (with matching dialogue to boot).
Does The Force Awakens borrow a lot from the original trilogy? Yes, it sure does (and not just Star Wars, but all three movies). Does that make it an 'unoriginal remake?' No it does not.
Also, I think it's rather rich that you accuse someone who disagrees with you opinion as being "delusional" when you're the same person that cried you were being insulted when I said your terrible arguments were both bad and annoying.

It doesn't just "borrow" stuff, it almost literally copies a lot of the scenes - and that's the very definition of unoriginality. The entire movie is a safe play for money, it's that simple. This doesn't mean that the movie is bad, it's not, else ANH would be bad too...which it isn't. It's a money movie. Copying / remaking ANH, sprinkle some PC glitter on it, add some fan service chocolate chips (despite the awful, awful, AWFUL acting by Fisher) and boom, you got ANH for ANG (A New Generation, get it...? ), cash be cash.

I don't think they completely copy episode 4. A lot of the scenes are copies, but they had a lot of original stuff. I particularly liked Finn's subplot, and Rey is a much better main protagonist than luke or anakin.

Calling the film an 'unoriginal remake' is hyperbole through and through, because it's neither a remake nor unoriginal. Would you like to see an example of a true 'unoriginal remake?' Go watch this movie.

Well, if we devour whatever they serve us,mee'll get more of the easiest, cheapest fare they can cook. If we demand better, maybe they'll stop serving us slop, but maybe they'll stop serving us at all. My preference is for Disney to up their game, but so many people are happy with TFA that There really isn't any pressure to aim higher.
Whatever, my personal Star Wars canon is still only three movies.

I've actually got reasonably high hopes that the plot similarities will be addressed in the next movie. Rian Johnson likes playing around and doing clever little winks to the audience, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him addressing the cycle of the Hero's Journey in-script. Maybe a little bit after Luke's done training Rey where he imparts something he learned - this has all happened before, and will all happen again...
And then he fades away, Yoda-style.
Either way, Force Awakens felt much more like a Star Wars movie than the prequels, and I'm happy for that.

I have no idea if its canon, but the Star Wars Battlefront 2 game had Darth Vader lead the 501st Stormtrooper legion (clones) to crush a Kaminoan rebellion of clone troopers reprogrammed to be loyal to Kamino, not the Chancellor. My assumption was that the facilities were destroyed.
EU is non canon now, and nothing ever destroyed Kamino. But even in the now defunct old EU, there were many, many ways of making clones.

No, no, Luke ran away because they needed a hermit Yoda-figure. Perhaps Snoke is trying to break the cycle - or maybe he wants to perpetuate it, and Kylo Ren's redemptive arc is going to involve breaking it. I dunno. I think there's a lot of interesting directions they could go with that.
...I liked the very end of the Dark Tower. Not the stuff leading up to it or the bit where Steven King made fun of people for wanting an ending, but I thought the big reveal was very fitting.

In the official novelization it is revealed that Snoke tells Kylo that Darth Vader’s one weakness was his love for his son Luke Skywalker, and if it were not for that one flaw, the Dark Side would have won.
You overlook the fact that the Father/Son thing was an afterthought added later on during the Empire Strikes Back creation process.
Evidence?
1) Vader was fully prepared to blow the feth out of Skywalker during his bombing run. Only Solo's intervention prevented this.
2) Vader couldn't/didn't detect the force in Leia during the interrogation scene, because she was never meant to be his daughter.
Lucas has been playing it by ear for years, and it's caught on with other people involved in the new saga.

Oh, you two are just adorable. I'll say it again for what is probably a third time: the film, though heavily inspired by all three films of the original trilogy, is not an "unoriginal remake.' I think in your rush to hive-five each other over your imagined cleverness, you failed to realize that there are more options between "100% never-before-seen originality" and a "total unoriginal remake of stuff we've all seen before." I think most people would agree that The Force Awakens falls squarely between those two extremes.
