Got 40K ADD again this past week, decided to rebase my Avatar (and spruce him a bit). First pic is before (painted ~3 years ago). The rest are what he looks like now:

I'm not a big fan of models standing on giant rocks for game purposes, but it's certainly imposing

Well, he is pretty tiny and was on a 40mm base; hardly appropriate for his Monstrous Creature Lord of War status, no? I think he's still shorter than the Forgeworld Avatar.

And hey, at the end of the day, if 'imposing' is all I can get out of my Avatar, that's not bad at all!

The large rock piece is actually from the Ultraforge Pleasure Daemon kit. The 'large' gravel is crushed walnut shells. The 'small' gravel is regular ballast.
