Do you think that the Horus Heresy release is going to be very detrimental(sales wise) to the longevity of AoS?

Nope,
People who are tempted by SF and Fantasy will still buy both (either to play or for the minis)
People who only like SF were never going to buy AoS except as conversion fodder and while there is a market for that it's nowhere even close to the size of the market for stuff people don't have to convert (or quality outfits like Kromlech and MaxMini would be a lot bigger)
And Fantasy only players are not going to move over to the HH even if they hate and loath AoS, they're either going to give up, or possibly give KoW (or maybe something else a try)

Pretty much this. Once GW finishes rolling out the new AoS faction models, what will be left to keep AoS rolling along?

Was that rolling or trolling?
To address the OP - I think there's a very real chance that any significant success AoS has may result in a similar treatment of 40K, but I doubt the HH will have any impact, especially if it's fundamentally a board game as rumoured.

I kinda doubt that rumor because the pictures that leaked had models that look like space marine sprues. If it were a board game, I think the models would be like space hulk. It doesn't really make sense that the board game would have parts you can configure.
Though maybe GW make a board game like the assassin one, if you can call it that, just to get people to pay more for the models, but I think the models will be for regular gaming too.

Just as a thing, the mention of books prompting me
Yesterday I was on the GW site looking something up, and idly wondered how many of the new LE AoS book were left, as they've not put a counter on it like some previous LEs.
So, I started adding them to basket.
I got bored after I'd added 300, which the site said were in stock.
So, given we know from previous LEs that they allocate stock to various regions, I'm guessing they haven't shifted many in the UK.

Their plan is to replace the model lines for just about everything, so you think that when they're done with the Sigmarines and the Bloody Bloodwarriors of Bloody Blood that they're just going to stop? No. Complete new Orc... or Orruk line. Complete new Dwarves, or whatever new trademarkable name they've given them.
And so on.
I mean, it worked for Fantasy, so why would they... oh wait...

Sorry for that Alpharius, won't happen again!
All I was wondering is that they are releasing two 'big' systems almost on top of each other. Some have said that the 40k players will not buy into AoS; that's not what I'm reading from some of the posts in regard to it.There are a lot of players of 40k who I think will at least buy the Aos starter simply for the figures of the not-marines but they are really'. The problem comes when the Heresy game hits. Many have been crying out for this for a very long time and I think AoS may be buried because of this. What I'm getting at is that HH will be the next (big?) thing and AoS will be overlooked.
The Heresy system may well start out as a board game but you can guarantee that they will be sniffing a lot of money to be made out of it and it will be a long term cash cow.
Add 30k and 40k together and AoS may not get a look in.

I'm not sure what you're driving at?
30K/Heresy is already a thing, FW do it and have been doing it to some success for quite a while now.
It is a lightly modified version of standard 40K with better written army lists.
Given the popularity it makes sense to make some core sets in plastic, as it makes it more accessible and (more importantly for GW) more profitable.
Whatever GW Heresy emerges as, and regardless of what Marlov thinks, people with decent track records are saying board game, something akin to SH or that Assassin thing, or I guess a campaign box is feasible, it is not going to be a new system.

We don't actually know that, since we have absolutely no idea what GW have planned for the Horus Heresy.
What I'm getting at is that HH will be the next (big?) thing and AoS will be overlooked.
It's fairly standard for GW to focus on one game at a time, with whatever else they're currently supported just ticking away in the background.
I suspect that once AoS has had its initial time in the sun, they'll move onto the next big release (whether that's HH, 8th ed 40K, or something else entirely) and keep slowly feeding out the replacement models for the various AoS factions for as long as people keep buying them.

Enough people purchased those ludicrously expensive EOT books that GW thinks its what people want, and not without good reason.
Personally I don't understand what people saw in those books at those prices, but that's just me. We'll probably also see even bigger more expensive models for each new faction. Why not when they apparently sell?
