Hi everyone,

New to Infinity. My Aleph starter pack is on the way in the mail. I am curious about the product line, supplements, and the current rules edition. The third edition of the rules has been released (for free! How refereshing!) but there are several other rules supplements, correct? What do these supplements contain? Whats the Human Sphere / Paradiso? Are these additional rules for the core game? Have these supplements been updated to N3? Thanks for the clarity!

Additionally, where is all the fluff located? Where can I read up on the factions and fluff about the units themselves?

Currently the only N3 rules are the N3 books (or pdfs if you prefer) and the N3 profile pdfs available for free via corvus belli. Paradiso/Human Sphere havent been updated yet. The bext book up, expected by the end of the year will either be Human Sphere N3 (which as I understand it is a combined update to both Human Sphere and Paradiso) or Acheron Falls (which is a new book altogether that includes new unit profiles, sectorials, link teams, etc.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
As for the fluff, Im not 100% as to whats online anymore, there used to be a lot on their website, now it looks like the books are the only source for that.

The new Human Sphere is potentially coming out at the end of the year and will include updated versions of the rules from the currently available Human Sphere and Campaign Paradiso books, which were written for the previous edition.

For fluff and background you need to fork out for the N3 book(s), the new Human Sphere book(s) will also have a fluff book included with it.

The current Paradiso and Human Sphere books are still compatible... With some help. The new book coming out will contain all the updated rules and profiles from both books. Also, the new updated Wiki just came out on their website. That has all the updated rules.

While they are singing "what a friend we have in the greater good", we are bringing the pain!

Welcome to the game, you will be pleased to know Infinity rules have always been and well always be 100% free (except for campaign book missions).

The next book will be Human Sphere, it will have all the rules except the campaign (CB has said it campaign doesn't work well in N3, it was soso in N2 anyways). That means Tohaa and the ALEPH A.S.S. will be in it. They are pushing 2 sectionals to the book after Human Sphere, they aren't been dropped. CB just feels they can do better by them, but need more time to do it.

The Infinity Wiki is up now. It is in a holding state right now with the part of the rules updated for N3 and the HS and C: P rules still in N2 waiting their new rules.

The fluff like said already is only in the books and Dire Foes boxes. N3 is the story of humanity leading up to and covering the start of the CA war, N3HS should be the story of the war leading up to the Tohaa joining the fight and the war on Paradiso for the Digester. Then the Dire Foes boxes set the stage for the next chapter, give a hint at what is to come.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Thanks for the clarity, everyone. I am itching to get my mini's on monday! So the print copy of the main rulebook will have army fluff and unit fluff entries and stuff like that? What about for Aleph? They were introduced with Human Sphere, right?

Correct. So wait until December (in theory) for the new N3 version of the Human Sphere to be released rather than buy the current N2 version. In the meanwhile paint and play

The print copy is actually 2 books in a slipcase. The ruleset in one and the background in another.

Yeah, absolutely do not buy the existing HS and CP books. The N3 core book is good if you wanted a printed rules reference but not necessary if youre using the free online rules. If you're curious about rules/profiles, you can use the free online army builder on the infinity site, which includes N3 profiles for all N3 models including those that will be in Human Sphere and Acheron Falls (though I believe those profiles are possibly subject to change?)

Acheron Falls is NOT this year. It has been shoved back to at least the winter of 2016, because of N3 and the nonsense that's been going on.

From what I was told by some guys I know who know various members of the CB staff personally was that either book has a roughly equal chance of dropping this year as they are both at roughly the same place in development as they had been working on them roughly concurrently which was delaying both. The staff was considering focusing on one at the expense of the other and was weighing the pros and cons of each option. Mind you this was a few months ago and I didnt follow Gencon stuff too closely so I dont know if they made a decision one way or another or made any announcements, etc.

Recent releases (pushing USAriadna) and the news from Gencon that USAriadna was moving to Human Sphere and MRRF were being pushed to AF is a pretty big hint that Human Sphere is coming first. Also there was that video teaser for Human Sphere a month or so ago.

I'm assuming that Acheron Falls is probably going to have some sort of boxed set/multiple starter sets that sort of tie in with it. Not a direct connection, but something give or take a few months.

N3 had Operation Icestorm, HS has the USAriadna set (sectorial with Link Teams need their rules!).

If Acheron Falls introduces new sectorials, a decently large model release wouldn't be a daft idea around that time; which is something that's a bit tricky to pull off this close to the USAriadna release.

Acheron Falls, or whatever it ends up being titled, won't be out until after HSN3. It is sure to have a limited edition mini to go with it. Acheron Falls will introduce beaucoup new sectorials. It does not seem hard to imagine that CB might have an Army Box similar to what we see with USAriadna ready to go with it, or be released just before it.

Anyway, on topic. Current background is in the printed N3 background book. The rules are a free download, and you should get them, since it is a convenience. All the unit profiles are a free download too. The link to the download page http://infinitythegame.com/archive.php grab the ITS scenarios and rules too.

Everything you need to play. Rules, unit profiles, scenarios, an army builder and a wiki.

We have know for a few months that N3HS is the next book, they also told us AF (thats is a working name and not set in stone) will not be this year. No need for second hand info form some guy, this is news from CB themself when the dropped the N3HS info.

OK, you have the starter set. Now you'll need the rules, which are all available as free PDFs:

3rd edition rules
2nd ed Human Sphere and Campaign: Paradiso (one file)
The FAQ which updates some of the 2nd ed rules to 3rd.
The list of updated weapons statistics for weapons from HS and C: P
The list of all unit statistics including all units from the rules, HS and C: P.

If you want the background, you'll need to buy the printed books. Unless you're desperate for fluff, don't buy the existing HS and C: P books, as the 3rd edition Human Sphere book will have all that anyway.

New human sphere out later in the year and we hope it wraps the rules up from all these books and pdfs. My local meta is on break until they sort it out. We love the game but are really sick of the time rules take right now. With your basic learner rules though youre fine.

Also :http://infinitythegame.com/army/

To make lists / get your weapon loadouts. Aleph rules will be between the n3 book, weps pdf, faq pdf, human sphere and paradiso pdf. It is annoying.

The good thing though is that the wiki is out again after 8 months.

That will make learning much better and the rules complaints people like me have only comes when juggling many rules at 300 points in its games.

Thanks all. I've found all the downloadable rules, etc, on their website and played with their army builder. Was just trying to sort out the deal with Human Sphere and Paradiso, etc, and their relation to N3. For example, some of the rules for Aleph units weren't in the main rulebook - AI Beacon, Ghost: Jumper, etc, so I was trying to figure out what is current. Cool to hear those rules will be getting updated soon. Understandable that you have to buy the book for the fluff. Might have to pick it up down the road.

I'm getting into Infinity and I've got some Tohaa. I have the starter set and some Makauls , really like the models of the Pheremonebombs, are the rules/fluff going to be in Human Sphere?

Yes.
They have said they are combining the rules/army lists from the two books (and other stuff since) into that book.

So ALL the tohaa rules up to a point (and units) will be in it.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Although if you wanted to get started for now, just use the Army Builder on the website and the N3 unit profiles document
