If they're still able to turn their heads then your not doing 1ksons right :-)

I'm more for go big or go home bling, like those ridiculous maxmini bits. Otherwise you risk being subtle and boring, a sort of head fin and a scarab on the lapel you say, yaaaaawn. I'm not paying that much moneys for bits that someone will squint at and sort of see how they could be 1ksons, maybe.

Would have liked helmets more like that (gakky ) 1k Sons book, with the little mini-crest, before Tzintch was all Naw bro like THIS and gave them all neck problems.

I noticed in book 4(?) it said the death guard upgrade parts were of unknown origin but were suspected produced at anvillus nine. I'd love to do a anvillus nine tagmata army, but there's scant little information on what apparently is a major forgeworld, including the livery used. :(

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I'm less disappointed by the parts and more that they seem to be going with the red & gold scheme rather than red & white as seen in the Collected Visions book.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

A mix of both I think, there are white details on the models.

Yeah, it may be company or chapter specific variations within the Thousand Sons.

Or just variations in production. Some armour may not feature the gilding and instead it may have been desirable/practical to simply paint the various accents white.

Hmm, I suspect they will get to Anvilus IX at some point though- it has been mentioned a good few times. It seems to both produce a good chunk of the experimental Legion gear (innovation! In the Mechanicus! ) and also most of the Imperium's Land Raiders. We don't know what happened to it either, only that it's production capacity was lost to the Imperium, which was why the Emperor gave his 'Land Raider's are only for Astartes' decree.

Perhaps if/when they do a Mechanicus-themed HH book, that will feature more about the major FWs.

Yeah, there is a good deal of variation in the Legion colours in the HH books so far, something I think is great.

Hmm, but are Land Raiders allowed in the Imperial Army now (rules wise)?

There is a limited option in the Militia list in Book 5 yeah, but you have to take the Survivors of the Dark Age provenance.
Currently though, we don't have rules for the mainstream Regiments, only rules for the elite of the Imperial Army (the Solar Auxilia) and the basic levies with the militia. The Solar Auxilia don't use Land Raiders. It is also possible that the Rogue Trader Militant list (which FW has mentioned in publications) will feature Land Raiders as an option if/when it appears.

Yes, under the right circumstances the Imperial Militia list allows you to take Rhinos and Land Raiders as dedicated transports.

Especially when the Visions books showed both red/gold and red/white.

Red/gold/white, even, in a few places.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! The jigsaw!

Looks like a causality for a primarch model. Who could it be?

You forgot to post this snippet as well:

Why the sudden interest in Red Scorpions? Well, I’ve just heard that the Chapter, and the heroic Carab Culln, will be making a return in 2016 with a new Imperial Armour book! That’s all I’ve got right now, but when I know more you will too.

My first thought was Dorn as the Mk II could easily be an Iron Warrior. But he didn't fight any traitors until Terra right?

Could be Corax then killing his way out off of Istvan.

Each Christmas they have done a Jigsaw puzzle of an upcoming release, I think last year was Mortarion or the death guard character that my mind just cannot pull up at the moment.

Edit: Typhon/Typhus

That versoin of the aquila is the Palatine Aquila, the Emperor's own symbol, only worn by the Custodes and the IIId Legion, the Emperor's Children.

So no, not the Great Khan.

I am wishlisting for Alpharius, but so far it's anyone's guess.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

If it's the Emperor's heraldry, could it be one of the Custodes? I seem to recall there were a few with the Word Bearers on Istvaan, weren't there?

That's a Mk III armour that marine is wearing.

I'd guess Dorn (they don't nessecarily have to wait to release him until the books catches up to the background?) , or Corax on Istvaan as you say.

The lightning under the Imperial Eagle might really point towards Dorn because the Fists often have lightning symbols on their armor .... Khan is far away from release IMO

if you zoom in on the image (its higher resolution on the FW site), it look like one of the grill lines on his helmet is actually cross shaped, so he could be an imperial fist...?
edit: or it could just be a slash/battle damage

Hi- so I saw this on Instagram this weekend. It's supposedly Alpharius. Not sure if it's a 3rd party(feels like it) or genuine Forge World.. Comments?
