Also, the Alpha Legion fangs are OK, but the one on the bottom left with fangs on his lower jaw of the helmet looks dumb. I like the other 4.

Yeah, the helmets are really off-putting. It's sad, because the pauldrons are so much nicer than the upgrade sets they've put out. The tusks would probably look better if not picked out in colour, but the whole "my head is being eaten by a hydra" is pretty bad. Not so bad that I wouldn't get them, though.

As for the Mastodon, I just love the guy poking out of that top hatch. He's so tiny and insignificant!

I noticed this, and it made me smile. One of the best lines in Dawn of War.

This. If anything the only difference between these and the last lot is the 'missing hand' to allow easier mixing with the plastic BaC weapons as well as FW's own redesigned 'hand attached' weapons.

Had the fangs on the Headhunter helmets not been picked out in bone, they probably wouldn't have gotten the same reaction. Leave them the base armor color and they're fine.

I don't think I'm a fan of the scales and fangs that will apparently be the AL design cues. The scales were already a thing IIRC for salamanders and the snake fangs just look a bit odd. They can't really just wear the fangs as that has/will be the Space Wolf thing. I think I may have prefered a full snake head skull detail modeled on the forehead of the helmet or somewhere else on the armor in a not too obnoxious pattern (I wouldn't want to turn them into GI Joe Cobra).

I don't really like the 'fangs' either, but as Gorgon noted, paint them the base color of the armor and they'll be...OK.

Fluff-wise, only the Salamanders and Imperial Fists have Storm Shields (more like proto-Storm-shields) in any kind of quantity during the Heresy.

The Mastodon is a very pretty model. If they came out with that in plastic, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It should come out in the same week the plastic Thunderhawk does

It's a siege transport. The front end breaches a wall, both sides open up and troops move through it into the breach.

It is actually the last of the epic models to be updated from the SM ground vehicles. The thing is a heavier crassus but more resilient. I personally love it.

It does come with a pair of void shields and enough guns to make even the most insecure of commanders feel a little bit better about the upcoming battle.

This thing looks odd but the shear amount of flamers and meltas this thing can pack is downright scary though I do worry this thing is going to cost 450+ points base.

Given that it also has quite a large transport capacity I'd say closer to a Warhound in cost, which is 21,4 Rhino's or 150 Guardsmen.

Errr, which one? The closest (and even then, it's miles away) to this was the Leviathan (superheavy command vehicle), Capitol imperialis (colossal cathedral on treads) or one of the tunnellers, probably the mole. The only other thing I can think of was the very early artwork for the Hercules transport, but that wasn't a siege tank, but more a huge transport.

Does anybody know which White Dwarf number that Mastodon picture is from, as it states in the german text that the Mastodon would be released that same week?

I also think the Mastodon looks cool

Anyone knows when to expect the new Warlod Titan weapons? Silly me, didn't ask when I had the chance. HH weekender, maybe?

AL has a special terminator unit which out of all Legions is armed with "power chainaxes", the ones that are now offered as an upgrade for the plastic Cataphractii. Tell me more how you don't like things "borrowed" from you.

I would love it if FW replaced the existing Alpha legion pads with those ones, it's a really neat, distinctive design.
