Only Sicarian Alphas have two wounds (like all other Sicarians). Vanguard and Ranger Alphas only have one which fits with the new Secutarii,
Actually, I just checked the codex and both the Ranger and Vanguard Alpha have two wounds.

Sorry about that, looked at the regular ones by mistake.I hope they update the FW variants to reflect that.

Ill Email FW about it

You have to politely point out the inconsistency and ask them to fix it. You can't just hope they'll do it.

You should also point out that any of the Skits can take the Tether and Omnispex, wheras it specifies only the Sec Alpha can take them.

And I wonder if the Peltasts can use Blind Barrage on themselves...

Right well, back on topic

Imagine how much MORE powerful the Skitarii+Flesh Tearers Drop Pods Tactic would be with these guys

Just Drop Pod behind terrain and fire off the Ignis Blaze shots
Or Fire off some Hammershot to MURDER Marines

Great looking kits, will probably get one of each, but the Peltasts will probably be the ones that actually see play. Those things are nasty

The peltasts are pretty cool looking, but sadly I don't see them being used often in game. The fact that they are incompatible with a War Convocation puts a huge dent in how good they are. The shot variety is nice, but in the end they aren't very tough, and the FT pod tactic is now illegal thanks to the GW FAQ

Regular Skitarii are still pretty competitive without Drop Pods. They're no Eldar but nobody is, and directly hard counter Gladius lists.

They are basically official. They won't really be changing anything rules wise, just cleaning up wording. So get used to these rulings, because they are basically official as is now. Not sure why people always chime in with the unofficial thing.

On the other hand, can anyone list the name of a third party that makes Skitarii type legs?

Anvil Industries produced human sized bionic legs until quite recently. They are not currently available unfortunately, however I think Anvil is currently working on upgrading the kit with their newer, higher quality sculpting and casting, so they may be re-released in the near future. Worth dropping a question on this page.

I never meant to do anything more with AdMech/Mechanicum than a couple units of rangers with my Krieg, because I like the models, and a Thanatar, again because I like the model, and a couple units for my 30k Thousand Sons, because the book and Khalophis.

But I find myself eyeballing a "get started" box of Skitarii, various Mechanicum stuff, and after the first FW bulletin with the Secutarii appeared, I ordered a bunch of Skitarii legs and torsos/coats.

I guess I am going to be doing AdMech/Mechanicum at some point.

Probably because we've aleady seen at least one change due to feedback, and the sutuation where one FAQ flatly contradicts another?

Don't forget the FAQ. Skitarii won't be able to use drop pods.

Edit: I see that you still believe this is unofficial and won't happen. That is fine. Simply advising based off of the suggested likely end result, based on GW input.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

They aren't really better---as you don't get special weapons on these....so no 2 or 3 x plasma/haywire special wpns per squads.

Yes the guys with shields get haywire but only 12 inch range.

As to the the shooty special squad---think they suck compared to the shield guys---the special shot that drops them to RoF 1 needs to be at least STR 5 for it to be useful--and in all honesty make the squad playable compared to the other skitarii options.

I get that they may make a rare, single change. But expecting them to change this clearly problematic rule? Doubtful. Skitarii Pods are dead as fried chicken.

That's for targets they can't ordinarily harm.

Seriously the new Skitarii are super good. All we need is a correction for two wound Sergeants.

Skitarii are already relentless, which is supposed to be their great equaliser for not having access to transports.

Problematic is an opinion, a lot of people are just fine with allies riding in each other's transports.

And just as many are not, if not more. Not that it matters, because this is a GW ruling that will stick. I highly doubt they would make that ruling only to go back on it.

Anyways this is off topic, yay new Ad mech stuff, hopefully with this there may be some Cyraxus news around the corner
