The third option perhaps. Twin hammers, spear and shield, twin axes

I like him pretty well, not bad.

@ Az: looking at how his weapon (Ghal I believe?) is just wafting straight up despite his upward trajectory, I'm wondering if maybe GW is choosing to go for model posability over dynamism. I feel like this guy would require some adjustments to make him look like he's actually moving through the air.

I think he is supposed to be stationary. The gold version of this model shows it better with his arms spread. It reminded me of Marvel's Storm.

I believe you're mistaking the Cometstrike Scepter in his left hand for Ghal Maraz which is in his right hand.

Ah yes, that's so painfully obvious! Thanks Ghaz

Well, point still standing- perhaps if his Cometstrike Scepter were flowing with the up and forward motion he is undergoing, I think it would help a lot to add that dynamic feel.

Sure thing. By the way, it's worth noting that the scepter and hammer appear to be in different positions on the differently painted models. My favorite is the first pic.

Huh. I feel like I want to have an opinion on the model but can't see past the swirly bits on the bottom. I can see what they are trying to portray, but it just looks weird and altogether off. The swirls keep pulling at my attention and I can't help but think that the model would look much different if they were painted differently. With that and a proper pose/repose on the flame and other bits to better show a sense of motion it could be quite good, but as is I'm just not sure what to think.

It's decent enough - but It looks too much like a lazy upscale of the basic trooper we've seen in like 5 kits now?

The faction is severely lacking in variety.

Well, after seeing the other pics, hes bettrr than i first tought. Still, its a rather boring sculpt in a game that seems to be severly lacking variety

You mean a faction, not a game, right?

There is not this idea.

No i mean game. Sure we still can use the other factions from whfb, but for the most part, we dont know if their aesthetic will change or if it will stay the same.

At this point, i think that the only real AoS factions are the sigmarines, chaos and skaven to a lesser extent ( i dont count sylvaneth, as they have way to few models).

He actually looks terribly naff to me.

Technically the model looks great, but I can't stomach such a design.

After reports of him 'towering over Glotkin' I was expecting something...more. He's actually only slightly bigger than a normal Sigmarite by the looks of things. It's definitely not worth Nagash price, I hope that's not how much he is...

Just like Space Marines, funnily enough.

But just like with Space Marines I'm sure it won't negatively affect sales, either. Looking at how popular Marines and especially the Horus Heresy are, and how much seething hate those fans have for almost literally every other faction in 40k, it seems to me like no one really wants or cares much about variety in the first place.

This is what Dante should look like. He is a Lord of War, after all, and he smashes things into tiny little bits. I wonder if anyone would mind if I used Mr. Prime as a proxy for him

I disagree completely, I think Dante looks fine just as he is. He's actually one of my favorite GW models and I think it would completely ruin him if they made him look insanely over the top like this...thing.

I'd say the actual Sanguinor model profits from a way better design than this... thing. At least it's a model aimed for tabletop wargaming. The flying Sigmarine looks like another showcase model. I mean, are people actually supposed to be carrying that thing around?

Of Sanguinor and Dante, I'd say there's a much better case for the Sanguinor being bigger than a norma marine. Dante is after all still just a regular Space Marine, while the Sanguinor is some kind of what, supernatural ghost daemon thingy.
