It'll probably be a Indigogo if they go for crowdfunding.
Will I be branded a traitor if I pledge on that as well?

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do |

Backed, because I need to see an eagle-shouldered mech driving a chainsword through it's opponent's torso.
Hopefully the Japanese mech's cockpit is armored...

I doupt it will have a chainsaw guys. Its likely going to have literal pillowfists as to not hurt the pilot inside. the goal of the fight will likely be who can knock the other over first.

After further investigation and the likely health and safety BS, I came to the same conclusion.
Good luck guys, but I withdrew my monies.

I think that absolutely depends on how hardened they can get their life support capsule. If they agree upon cockpit armor minimum thickness, and then insist that no weapon be able to penetrate said armor, they should end up wth an SCA style battle, with almost real weapons used with reasonable force.

By the looks of it, the kuratas could be pretty messed up by taking out one of its wheels. (Probable capsizing or leaning, throwing it off balance) Just my thoughts, I'm no expert in battle bots (huge fan of the idea) and it'd be hard to get a swing/shot at it, but the wheels wouldn't be my first choice of mobility for a battle like this.

Assuming the Kuratas doesn't undergo modifications as well.
Remember that the Kuratas was originally an art piece; it was not designed with combat in mind.

That is also true. And I'd be surprised if it doesn't change. In its current state though, I find it hard to get over how exposed its mobility is.

The other option is aliens invade halfway through the fight, and the robots join forces to fend them off.
