You have enough tiles. If there are two things I've seen you post pics of over the years that you have enough of, it's game board tiles and superheavy tanks! You have to stop before a loved one calls the Hoarders TV show on you!

There's a few quick close-ups in the video.

Doh. I was just at my hobby shop today and could have sniped some close-ups. If there's nothing by Monday, I'll swing by there and take some decent photos of the tiles. They look good, and are part of the reason I'm buying more than 2 sets (I love the heroes too).

$265 aus for a board game. I guess that's cheap, for gw. Pass.

After browsing the New Zeland website I'm convinced it's just a country full of people wearing clothes made of money and they all have houses constructed of solid metal coinage.

There's no other explanation for the prices.

The price equates to $205 USD, so $55 USD upcharge because Kiwis.

I wish, i think i might have been the only one who preordered it at my local gw today, and i could only just afford it.

As to the game it's not bad at all. Models are nice though the terminators were lacking compared to my memory of the forge world ones(no side by side) but i think it might have been the lack of undercuts.

But then if New Zealanders bought models they would be naked or have leaky roofs

All's I have to say is Kudos to Forgeworld for the caveat of sets to go with it. Good to see FW and GW doing things in conjunction! Super stoked!

I am now tempted to wait on this set and see if a Thousand Sons one shows up when FW finally get round to making those kits. Maybe I'll shot them an email, they're usually good at answering stuff like that.

I just spent some time comparing the close-up shot, 360 spin Cataphractii sergeant picture to my FW Cataphracts. It really is remarkable how well they appear to have done the plastics. You notice VERY small details that are subtly changed, such as the placement of the studs on the backs of the legs that are near the heavier front plates on the resin are closer to the plates on the plastic, directly abutting them so that they can be present without the undercuts. The upper leg plates are slightly different. There are small areas where the lack of undercuts make a bit a tiny bit more chunky, such as the leg that's molded in one piece vs. as two with a join at the knee, or the little mini shield shaped piece at the center of the breastplate being just a bit thicker, again due to undercuts. Really, in comparing the mini in my hand to what I see on the screen, they did a stellar job.

Added:

This is quite fascinating. I also just found a match to the decorative embellishments at the top of the Contemptor's kneed pads and frontal pelvis.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I thought that the FW bundles might be a good deal for us Aussies, but really it just doubles the price for a bunch of torsos, heads and shoulder pads.

Interesting that one of the bigger UK shops, Element Games has this in their email:

"4.) This set is only going to be available to us once! Once it's gone it's gone."

So possibly a one shot deal for other retailers and then GW will sell it direct only?

It looks like you are only going to get two plasma/meltaguns per box?

Means you need three (or to trade with someone) to be able to make a support squad.

Words to the same effect from The Outpost and Wayland in their newsletters. Could simply be a case that GW hasn't confirmed there will be a second run so they're just covering themselves in case there isn't, or it could be like you say and it'll be going Direct Only in future (or not reprinted at all!)

There's one on each Tactical sprue, the box has 3 Tactical sprues, so you get 3 in the set.
