Recently, zero.

There was a vast and glorious exodus of all the cringy overcompetitive people to Warmahordes.

And then the 40k club doubled in size after they left. I hope they have fun.

Depends on which club. One or two. Usually not the same ones. I'm sure a couple folks at my uber casual club will tell you I'm TFG.

Depends on if you actually mean TFG as in the proper actual TFG (and not just competitive players as some seem to here ) and I don't think I've seen one in a few years.

Ididnt realize there was a strict definition. Tbh I didn't think there could be more than one-I thought it was supposed to refer to that one guy in every club people disliked, for whatever reason.

TFG is something relative. The Player who are just plain horrible to play against usually only playes a few times here before they realise that they are not liked that much. So if only those players are TFG then none of them play around here.

But most players have their quirks that a portion of the player base doesn't like that much or just hates. So it would depend on who you ask it. There are some local players I would rather not play against that often but others don't seem to mind. And there are some players that I enjoy to play with that others can't stand. If those are TFG I would not know how many there are. I could even be a TFG for some players without knowing it.

It's easy though a TFG is just a jerk, they can be a mix of whatever else with it but at the end of the day it's their personality. They're that guy that complains about everything; "oh you play eldar? fething cheese" even though you brought none of the big things the internet complains about, complaining about others paint jobs while it looks like theirs fell into a bucket of house paint etc. Or tries to cheat to win, twist rules, and otherwise tend to be obnoxious to be around. Pretty much they'll nearly always be obvious and more of an extreme I think.

You can play against competitive players without them being jerks which is how they wrongly seemed to be labeled TFG as well just for playing a harder list. And if their list is too hard, just talk to them about it really and you'd probably come to some middle ground. Either they will weaken theirs or help you with pointers to balance it out a bit cause a stomp isn't fun for either side.

Everyone in my gaming group brings cheesy, competitive lists so I can't call that TFG. I can't really think of anyone.

Heh - Page 5 has no time for tfg either. The greyness thst tfg thrives on to succeed doesn't exist.

I have two metas.

I don't think I have a TFG in either one, or if there is, I haven't met them. There might be one in the local meta I am in now, I remember them bringing Ad Lance to a beginners game. Haven't seen them around recently though.

Lol. I did this by accident last weekend. A guy who I didn't know posted that he needed a game to finish out the campaign so I agreed to play him since my game had fallen through. But I didn't realize that he was asking to play a game for the beginner league. So I brought my competitive list which consisted of knights and felt horrible. We were able to scrounge together some tanks and other add ins to help beef him and it ended up being a not all too bad game. He destroyed two knights but I was still able to eek out the win. I think it was an enjoyable game but I couldn't stop apologizing since I just felt like such a tfg. I never would have brought a list full of Knights had I known. I still feel bad about it as I'm writing this.

At the two FLGS that I frequent, there fortunately aren't any. The really competitive players show up for the tournaments, but even then they're coll enough and sportsmanlike enough to avoid the TFG designation.

The only TFG people I see is the Eldar player who is well known for always getting the warlord and psyker powers he wants, rolls well above average, and seems to always have a paticular dice for different rolls like moral or psychic powers. Nobody has any hard proof of cheating but everyone experiences the same set of gak each game.

Occasionally there is the "competitive" players that don't seem to understand that playing tournament lists against fluff players or newbies isn't exactly sporting or fun for the opponent. Its 100% legit rules following so its proper play but its such a mismatch of skill and lists.

Sometimes I worry that I might come across as TFG as I always end up questioning rules. Its really annoying when I hear a rule from a veteran player but it sounds wrong so I ask to check the rules. Often times its a rule from a previous edition but I hate having to break up the flow of the game to object/check rules.

I handle this problem by asking if I can use the same dice he uses for the same things.

I also have dice I prefer to hold back for certain things, but will happily let my opponent use them for the same, because I'm pretty sure my perception of them having a preference is all in my head.

The REALLY lucky dice is the most obvious thing but there are a lot of other sketchy behavior like fast dice pickup, rolling when the opponent isn't looking, fast and loose measurements, "list errors" which might have more points than its suppose to, "oh this has this wargear" when its convenient to mention it, etc. If hot dice was one thing (either luck or poor quality dice that have skewed results) it would be fine to share dice but all the questionable behavior and most importantly the lack of concern that these "mistakes" cheapens the other player's experience makes playing with this person just not worth it.

Over a few years around the four local stores; I can only recall one guy that tried the easy button, most broken net list to win. The irony is he was just starting out and got crushed by fluffy lists. I think if he had just brought something remotely balanced instead of what he thought would be auto-win armies; he could have had more fun. Needless to say, he didn't have much fun getting crushed and left the scene pretty quick like. Otherwise, the players have been good to great; some very competitive and some pure fluffy, one guy that routinely rage quits (which I find humorous to no end) but otherwise nope.

My flgs has a young 'un who has reasonably well off parents, collects necrons and gets all excited about 'net lists. A bit like Dman123413864209 or whatever the hell he calls himself - just without the eldar.

We're all going through a process of getting that out of his system - he had a humbilng moment against one of the youngest kids that i've ever seen in a gaming store on thier own with thunder-wolves.

To his credit - he took the loss with grace, so at least theres a big spot of light at the end of that tunnel.

A TFG is someone who beats me in a game, right? I think that's how this works... If so, about half the people at my club are TFGs.

If, on the other hand, a TFG is someone who cheats or acts like a douche, then I don't think I've ever come across one.
