Never mind. It was a boring conversation anyway.

Tactical Dreadnought (Terminator) Armour can only be worn by Astartes, it's too heavy for anyone else.

Regular humans can have Power Armour though. Sisters of Battle, Inquisitor's, high-ranking Imperial Guard commanders, etc. wear it regularly.

Quite apart from the responses below, I'm interested how you might think that armour provided with its own powered exoskeleton could ever be "too heavy" for someone

I'm not too positive what people mean by the advantages of the armour, can someone enlighten me.

It is still a powered suit of armour with servos which would help lift things and offer protection, what is everyone saying that's so much better than that? because it sounds pretty great.

It enhances your senses, provides protection from gases and spess, lets you fight anywhere without noticing a change in temperature and gives you a 3+ armour save.

That can walk through an active plasma reactor core. It's pretty nifty stuff.

I'm not here much, I just think that it's hilarious what the fluff SAYS about terminators and then what the REALITY is. Terminator armor is a joke.

Not so much if you play 2nd edition

It was bad in 2nd ed, too. Lots of -6 armor save weapons and high ROF -3 armor save weapons.

But that's OK, because in the world of 40K plasma is this weird liquid substance...

Eh? Where do you get that from?

There's a big difference between blood plasma and the plasma used in engines, lol.

In the fluff plasma is described as being some sort of thick and viscous super-hot liquid, whereas in the real world it's either, as you point out, blood plasma (the yellow-colored liquid component of blood, in which blood cells are suspended) or matter in one of the four states (loosely described as an electrically neutral medium of unbound positive and negative particles).

Which fluff is that? That was my question. I have literally never heard it described as liquid before.

I'll try and find it, it's been described as such in several books...

IN the Bleeding Chalice, it's described as being like superheated gas. Same as in Mechanicum, Blood Angels Omnibus, and literally every 40k novel that I've read. What novel says that it's a liquid substance? I'd like to know which idiot decided to contradict common sense, science, and other 40k fluff.

To quote a fictional character... "Let's make this fun!"

I know I've seen it, I just have to find it again...

As to common sense, science and other fluff, when has that ever mattered? I've never seen so many contradictions in novels before...

I've nearly finished reading Storm of Iron again, and there's this on page 370...

"The two Titans slammed into the ground, the impact throwing Honsou from his feet and hurling him forward. He smashed into the top of the earthwork, rolling over its top as a river of plasma spilled from the ruptured reactors or the Titans. Burning plasma flooded the ditch, incinerating the corpses that filled it in an instant. The Primus Ravelin was destroyed, crushed beneath thousands of tonnes of armaplas and ceramite. Huge flames and Geysers of magma-hot steam ripped along the ditch, vitrifying the rocks through its length."

I know there are more references like this out there, in relation to both Titans and starship engines, but that's the first one I've found.

Heavy gas does appear to flow;

Here we have a demonstration of sublimating carbon dioxide flowing out of a container and across a solid surface.
