I see their starting roster includes most of the MWO IS line up. Here's hoping they add the Crab by 2017, cause I want to build a Crab Lance. Call my merc company the the Crab Hammer

That's because you haven't seen the reverse of the carabiner, it finishes like "...needed. Mine. Chairman Mao"

Is it wrong I want the ability to expand into a company and maybe even battalion numbers wise? you could send lances or companies off to garrison worlds etc and receive payment from them (So the picked unit is unable to be used in your own missions, but you gain currency or stuff from it).

It's not wrong. I want this game to allow for a Merc Company, not just a Lance, but they've said 4 'Mechs only.

They said you can control 4 mechs at a time.

In their interviews they mentioned they would like for the player to be able to have as many as 12 mechs they can deploy to various locations, but only 4 can be used in any one mission.

Yeah I asked them about the 4 'Mech thing. They said you can have more than 4 'Mechs, but you can only deploy 4 'Mechs at once.

That's kind of lame. Hopefully that will be expanded on. A unit of 12 is the standard formation that can actually accomplish things. A lance of 4 is just a fire team. I want real tactics so I can have my artillery lance in the distance with my battle lance closing and my Pursuit/Recon lance doing mop up. That's what Battletech is all about.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Their design philosophy for a turn-based tactical game with RPG elements was that 4 was the ideal number for them. Information overload is a recurring topic in their interview videos and it's something they want to avoid. One way to do that is to keep deployments to a single Lance.

Personally I'd like to deploy more than 4, even if it's only late-game, but I understand why they went that route.

Need to leave something for the next game.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

Looks like they might make the PVP mark after all.

Don't care about multiplayer. I'd rather than add another 20 'Mechs to the game.

I'd the game just have all the units from TRO:3025 in it, a proper open-ended post-Third Succession War era game where wherever you go the forces you fight will have an array of proper 'Mechs. Every BattleTech game has been held back by the paucity of 'Mech types.

I've been playing through MechCommander recently and I came up against this problem when trying to balance out the drop restrictions. I need 50 tonners but I'm restricted to... Hunchbacks, 'cause that's all that's in the game (excluding Hunchback IIC's) that are 50 tons. The Centurion, perplexingly, has been bumped up to 55.

No Trebuchet, no Enforcer. Just one 50 tonner and that's it.

These games need more unit types.

They seem to be taking some short cuts by utilizing PGI's art department. I doubt they'll add mechs that aren't already in MWO. Not that bad, as MWO does have a decently varied line up of mechs. And with the game not releasing till 2017, we're likely to see 6-10 more mechs assuming PGI maintains its current release frequency.

Of the available weights;

20 Tonners - 1
25 Tonners - 2
30 Tonners - 2
35 Tonners - 5
40 Tonners - 1
45 Tonners - 2
50 Tonners - 5
55 Tonners - 4
60 Tonners - 2
65 Tonners - 3
70 Tonners - 2 (3 including the Warhammer)
75 Tonners - 2 (3 Including the Marauder)
80 Tonners - 3
85 Tonners - 2
90 Tonners - 2
95 Tonners - 1
100 Tonners - 2

I don't know if we've been told whether Battletech will use a 'One Variant Fits All' set up for Chassis, or a system like MWO's.
