Ok I will buy and try that, some kind of shading I need for sure, that might be it.

My friend got me a zombie dragon /w vampire lord on it for my birthday! Super cool.

Building it now, and painting as i go, since i want the muscles to be colored before i glue bones on top of it.

I did an airbrush of brown, followed by bugman's glow. Then, i'll highlight with cadian flesh, and do a quick wash of nuln oil and darken around the wing bones with black. Think this might turn out? Any recommendations for painting muscles?

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I painted purple sun. It's really easy to pain with an airbrush, i got done in about 10 minutes and it looks solid. However, if I had to paint it with brushes, that would be a nightmare.

Currently finishing assembling a LOTR mumak so that I can use my chaos mammoth at the gw store (currently using a Schleich war elephant but cannot obviously use that at gw store)

Plan on making it look festering and have nurglings in the howdah led by sassy nurgling.

I thought GW didn't allow conversions from LotR games due to copy write or something.

It was primarily photographing and contractual obligations. You used to see it in WD where a model would place highly and then there'd be a mention of being unable to show it because of contractual obligations.

3 "ready for battle" liberators done in my quest to finish the 1st starter set stormcasts.

Pretty happy with this look, even though I skipped painting the scabbard and belt black since its pretty hard to get in there and still keep it "speed painted"

I really should break out my starter set and..you know...actually paint them like you are.

For a speed paint...pretty damn good

Thank you!

If you spray or airbrush the gold basecoat they are fairly quick to paint.

Hehe its easy to buy GW big boxes nowadays. The stack is getting too damn high!

After multiple paint iterations I finally settled on a scheme for my witherstave poxbringer:

The weapon lower shaft was taken from the Maggoth Lord kit, the normal Poxbringer blade trimmed then green-stuffed over to get the new shape. Reposed his left arm with a bit of sculpting to fill the gap, same with his pointer finger. All the branches on his back were clipped off and the hive sculpted from green stuff. Also sculpted in extra guts on his stomach for no particular reason at the time but in hindsight really glad I did.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Finished 1st starter set stormcast(except 5 liberators that I used for paint experiments).
All except 3 painted in one 13 hour marathon session. Now I can buy soul wars guilt free!

edit: and of course lord-celestant not painted yet, but will take my time to paint him not speed paint

So I finally got around to working on my Cauldron of Blood, more or less my last obstacle to having a field able Daughters of Khaine army.

As is my way, to steal shamelessly from the internet, I took big inspiration from Tim Fisher's Cauldron, with its lifted staircase, and double-helping of blood for when you have friends over and want to party.

The staircase is raised and moved back so that the dais sits inside it, the peg for the Cauldron itself hooks into a little spur on the middle axle and kind of hugs the side plate - very difficult to glue together, all-in-all.

Next steps will be to cannibalize a cauldron from my second kit to do the other side, that kit will go on to become a bloodwrack shrine, I'm also debating magnetizeing the dais and stairs, I don't like the look of the avatar very much and would like to replace it with something - problem is it needs to be tall and to have a narrow footprint to fit there.

The wolves are part of the larger theme of the army, I've got all my footbound queens riding wolves and scaling that up to the cauldron is a relatively straightforward matter of removing the front wheels and (eventually) adding some chains to the wolves. Originally I only had two but it looked kind of awkward.

Sassy Nurgling is the real miniature here; the rest is merely extra bling to make him look better.

Great work there minisnatcher.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
