The majority of these models is dead easy to do, but those wings... ugh!

I am almost finished with my stardrake, and I'm on the wings right now. By far the hardest part of the model. I wet blended from a purple to a red, and now I'm trying to keep that clean as I paint the spines between the membranes..... maddeningly slow. A WIP picture from earlier this week.

I also worked on magnetizing the rider a bunch (you can see the templar's body can be switched in in the picture above), and the chair is also magnetized.

Lots of sub-assemblies. Waiting for the new basing kit to come out this weekend to work on his base!

Got two storm casts done. Had no clue what to do so I went with the gold so I can learn how to paint gold. Damn this is hard. Waiting for my AoS bases to come in. One a day taking me almost 6 hours just to do one. Argh. Well got to start somewhere.

Going with the Hammers of Sigmar chamber eh, Davor? If you wanted, you could add some markings to the shields, to denote which unit is which.

Only going with what came in the Starter set. I lost one, bought another one, and then found the one I lost. So know I have 2 sets of them. I guess they will be Hammers of Sigmar or formerly Hammers of Sigmar.

I just started out with AoS (have yet to play a game) by buying the King Vlagorescu's Ghoulish Host box for Flesh Eater Courts. I finished my first unit, 3 Crypt Horrors, today. Overall I'm pretty happy with how they turned out: I paint in a very dark, gritty style reminiscent of Historical wargaming in part because I don't like bright/clean looks (except on Space Marines haha) and in part because I'm lazy so I like to use a lot of washes and drybrushing. Brief rundown is that I basecoated with Rakarth Flesh, washed with Reikland Fleshshade to make it look more human with a ruddy color, then gave a heavy drybrush with Rakarth Flesh followed by Rakarth Flesh with a little Army Painter Necrotic Flesh to bring back that "not quite human" look. This was also my first time trying out the Blood for the Blood God paint and holy crap it's amazing.

Not working out as i thought. Suppose to be my Chaos Stormcast. To dang bright. Next text subject will hopefully be darker.

At least I know the silver and red will work though and not having to use red and gold.

I recommend getting some The Army Painter Quickshade, the Dark tone and dipping them in the scheme as you pictured. I think that would fix them right up!

Thanks

When making a base, I always think that a base should tell a story as much as the miniature. Of course when I'm cranking out an entire army my bases are typically minimal (my bloodbound army's bases are sand painted over black to look like scorched earth, very quick and easy).

For this one I figured she was walking through a reclaimed area that could have at one time been home to an industrious civilization. Maybe duardin. The cogs are remnants of that time.

Thanks! Yeah I've only seen one before ever. Shame too because its a great model!

The current scope of my Sylvaneth grove. Comes in at 1760 points, one more Dryad unit short of an even 2000. Now I need to bust my butt this week and get all that bone primered stuff painted up before next Monday, as it will fill out a second raffle entry card, which is probably excessive because I don’t think anyone else has been working on the painting and I have the only current entry.

It's been a couple months since I've painted, been busy with work. But I got the itch after using the shard character in a game.

I'm working on basing a giant now.

Thanks man. Now I need to start work on those Handgunners we discussed! I sort of want to add another 10 to this unit on the side though as they were so much fun to paint.

When can we expect pictures of your Sylvaneth?

I have been on a painting frenzy with my flesh eaters, despite not playing a game yet.

Monday I finished my Abhorrent Ghoul King, the "good" King Shivergloom:

Then last night I finished the Varghulf Courtier, named Gryom (pronounced "Grom"), who holds the rank of Marquis Gruelsop in my army:

I wasn't sure about how his wings would turn out, but I really like it and will likely add the same effect to the Terrorgheist's wings later.
