Base Castellan Green, wash with Athonian. Two layer drybrush of Loren Forest and Straken Green, with a final light dust of Underhive Ash on the faces.

Super quick!

Thanks, Matt. I'll try it out sometime.

Great work there Matt. Do have a question. How did you get the skin colour so light? I tried it, but I ended up mine with a dark tan. Imagine that, my dudes in the snow with a dark tan.

You mean on the Ogors themselves?

Start with a Bugman's Glow base (more of an undercoat), then go over with Kislev Flesh.

Do a thickish wash with a watered down Bugman's in the cracks (face, between muscles, fingers, etc). Then light drybrush/layer with Kislev to bring everything back up again. Finish off with final highlight of Flayed One Flesh.

A lot quicker than it sounds!

I've finally stopped fiddling with the sculpting on my Ultraforge Treewoman as Drycha conversion and primed her up. This is my first attempt at underhighlighting, so it was pretty gentle with the white primer. I'm just using rattlecans, so it's going to be a bit spotty (EDIT: the pictures look a lot less awful if you click through and blow them up). It sure does look better primed than unprimed though! There's always that moment of truth when you aren't sure how well your green stuff is going to blend in.

Nice sculpting work there. What material are you using Swarmofseals?

@ Matt, thank you. I don't have those colours so next time when I can, I will buy them and try them out. I have Vallejo and old GW paints at the moment.

The model itself is the Ultraforge Treewoman which is resin. I repositioned the head and arms which required a lot of greenstuff. I also added the vine "sash" and all the vines on the rear which are also greenstuff. The skulls and bones are GW bits. The dryad had to be cut apart and put back together with a fair amount of greenstuff to give it that limp look.

So yeah, mostly just greenstuff.

EDIT: I redid the face as well with greenstuff, and the weird mouth thing is a mix of greenstuff and cut up bits from the spite revenant sprue.

The Christmas Project rolls on, but I am beginning to run out of time to complete my original plan. Managed to get some Stonehorns done:

And another group of Tree-Revenants that I had been promising for myself...

But I still have my Khorne cavalry, a whole band of Gutbuster Ogors, and three more Stornhorns/Thundertusks to do, all by Sunday.

Anyone want to make bets if I will get them all done in time (I am far from sure myself!)?

This is my Gordrakk that I just finished painting last week. Meant to enter him in for brotherhood of the brush on Saturday but ended up going out for the new year's. I used Warhammer tv's guide to the maw krusha for the mount but made gordrakk in my own army's color. The army is based off of Warcraft lore and mechanics. His weapons are dyed blue and green as if they are enchanted. What you can't see is the ground behind him is cracked earth as they are leaving the dark portal into the swamp of sorrows. The display board that will go with these guys and my buddy's bonesplittaz is a realm gate styled in the fashion of the dark portal. Lore wise, this realm gate has been corrupting the land around it drawing all life out of it.

I painted up a unit of Tree Revenants with a cherry blossom theme to give to my GF for her birthday, she doesn't play so I opted only for the unit champion instead of the full command group. Unfortunately my photography skills & phone are rather lacking so the image is a bit blurry.

A little thing here. i was working on the starter set i got a bit back, and got the the bloodsecrator (i will resist calling him the blood secretary). I don't like the model that much because it's so... bulky so i did some quick kitbashing:

Spoiler:

I'm happy with the look, but i got to wondering, does that still work, as a bloodsecrator? or is too much just a banner now?

I think the base should be a 40mm but other than that I wouldn't have an issue with it. It's clear that the model has had additional work above what a normal standard bearer would have.

Sidenote: As a Slaanesh player, I am obligated to call him a Bloodsecreter, as he is so often secreting blood.

The instruction booklet i've got says to use the 32 mm. do you think the larger one would look better?

Well if the booklet says 32mm for the bloodsecrator go with that, must just be my memory playing tricks on me.

The booklets are horrible for referencing base sizes, the last few big boxed sets had all at least one error in base size. If I remember correctly, the set also had one but it was not the Bloodsecretor.
