"A guide to paying non-retail prices and deep-dish discounts on GW products."
"A guide to leveraging your IP across multiple mediums to further enhance core product sales rather than just farming it out to any two-bit mobile developer and sitting back to collect the licensing fee."
"A short guide to how exchange rates work, and how it's not the 90's any more."
"Previews and Sneak Peeks: How previewing upcoming products is a boon, and not a burden."

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

So, what if the gaming community agrees to collectively hijack this idea by sending our own alternative list of tutorials "how to price products fairly" etc? At the very least it would be an embarrassment for Gw.

They'll ignore it, like they ignore any feedback that isn't "keep up the great work, and here's my credit card number".

Then they'll do what they always do and ignore the neckbeards.

You mean "ignore the people who have feedback GW needs to hear and only listen to the echo chamber".

Maybe this is why they don't want to talk to us?

Well, given GW's current financial state, it's probably more like this:

Seriously though to play devil's advocate: GW deserves a lot of the criticism it gets but have we stopped to consider that they ignore us because when they take a tiny, small baby step in the right direction like this, we (the community in general) break that baby foot?
Again I'm not trying to say GW doesn't deserve criticism, but honestly would you want to head up community relations when the community treats a small attempt to interact with it with nothing but a 1st page filled with sarcastic contempt?

Sometimes you have to let people clear the air. Especially when there is such a lot of bad feeling towards the actions of your company for so many years.

Absolutely. Assuming that the company I was doing it for was genuinely interested in turning their image around, the challenge of actually making that stick would be kind of awesome to take on.
But that would be going into it knowing full well that initial attempts to engage with the community were going to be met with the cynicism that the company had just spent the last decade fostering. One attempt to encourage communication isn't going to suddenly erase the ill-will generated by their previous actions.

Are they charging for this calendar? Didn't the advent calendar used to be full of things like mini supplements, fiction etc? I'm not sure that it was great value, but at least it wasn't effectively a collection of fan efforts assembled from free submissions, that's pretty cheap!

I thought HBMC's list was pretty amusing, but you really brought your A-game here Insaniak. I'm going to stop reading the thread now, and just award the internet to you. Congratulations.
