Painlord Titan Princeps of Slaanesh

In this discussion I want people to talk about all Super Heavy Vehicles and Gargantuan Creatures. However, I want to shy away from things like Reaver and Revenant Titans. What is their category? I specifically would like to compare things such as imperial knights, Wraith Knight, Taunar Kx155 Supremacy, Obelisk, C'Tan shards, Tessaract, baneblades, brass scopion, lord of skulls, Blood thirster insanent wrath, Gork and Mork. Stuff in that category. Bigger than a riptide and NDK, but smaller than a Reaver Titan.

Forst off, the wraith Knight is absolute cheese for being 100pts too low so we should not compare stuff to it because nothing compares to this OP imba .

I want to know if there are formations for such big models.
I only know about Imperial Knights. I myself run 5 knights from time to time.
what do people use. how do they use it. what strategy and tactics are used. do they support it with a smaller army?

stuff like that.

The last year's Gargantuan releases make my giant bugs feel really overcosted.

The only 'pure superheavy' army currently able to be battle-forged is the Imperial Knights.

Gorkanauts also have the Gorkanaut Krushing Krew.

everything else is old apocalypse dataslates...or else just an unbound army.

Personally, the knight-scale engines are something I like, too, but I'd love some more detail to their combats.

Have a look at WD89 - Godbreaker Clash is a fantastically fun mini-game for two knights facing off. There are rules for Stormsurge ballistic suits and Imperial Knights - it wouldn't be hard to add sheets for Gorkanauts, Wraithknights, Bloodthirsters of Insensate Wrath, etc.

It's good fun, because it includes the level of 'crunch' that normal 40k lacks - taking out leg sections, disabling weapons, etc, etc.

Warhammer world had a formation with a Reaver/Warlord titan and 5 Knights from the Standard Codex ( no FW).
It allowed the Knights to infiltrate when the R/W titan didn't move.
It also gave all knights ranged weapons TL and Ignores Cover at models the Reaver/Warlord shot at.
It was called Anvil of the Emperor.

It wasn't apoc as far as I know.

- 10000+ pts
Imperial Knights- 5 Standard Knights / 3 Cerastus Knights
Officio Assassinorum - 4 Assassins
CSM - 500pts? Maybe? Its from the Officio Assassinorum box so I'm pretty sure its not enough to run in a CAD
Vampire Lords- I have no idea I bought it like two days before I left country and they're still in storage so I'll have to see when I get back.]

The Gork and Morkanauts aren't super heavy walkers sadly, despite being costed similarly to other units that are and even with the Krushin' Krew formation they only recieve lacklustre bonuses like Furious Charge

Greater Brass Scorpion actually fits the CSM theme of assaulting into close combat. Space Marines outshine us everywhere in shooting but if there's one thing we know how to do it's challenge you to a duel and eat your face.

Turn 1 assault into combat from across the board is exactly the kind of thing that speaks to a CC army.

It's called a thick skin. The Jersey born have it innately.

Anvil of the Emperor gives outflank rather than infiltrate - the Knights stay in reserve until the battle titan 'calls them in' on a turn it's not moving.

given that it's supposed to be getting upgrades in the Mymerea 2nd edition, probably, yes.

The brass scorpion does not have Dstrength CC weapons so goes poof against any super heavy with strength D. The Knight Atrapos is quite nice with rerolls vs GCs and SHs. StrD beam weapnis also nice.

I cannot believe in a God who wants to be praised all the time.
