What is the fastest you've seen a game end?

For example, two players both playing Nids. Player 1 brings a Harridan, and a few Flyrants. Other player brings some Flyrants, some Zoanthropes, Venomthropes, Carnifexes, and Mawlocs.
Player 1 tells his opponent what his Harridan can do, as well as what powers his Flyrants have.
Player 2 bunches his entire army (except for the Mawlocs in Reserve), in some terrain for a turn 1 Cover save.
Player 1 flies his Flyrants and Harridan over to the other table half.
Player 1 casts Paroxysm on the unit of Carnifex.
Player 1 casts Psychic Shirek twice and kills almost every unit effectively tabling Player 2.

Game called at the end of Player 1's Turn 1 Psychic phase.

For me it was one in 6th that took 30-45 minutes. It was a lower points game where I had 2 20 CSM blobs and a Terminator lord and the other guy's list had a squad of PM's 2 Cult squads (I forgot if they were also blobs or zombies or both) and Typhus. It sorta ran like this

1. Everyone moves up
2. Same as 1 but one of his squads shoots the blob with the Termi Lord in it, we had both forgotten that Fearless in 6th is shared from IC's into their squad, so after a failed morale check Lord Blob runs off the board leaving the other 20 dudes left on my side
3. My surviving 20 dudes squad engage melee w/cultists and Typhus. It does not go well and they get mulched in combat over the course of ~2 turns

My shortest game was in 6th edition. I took a foot-sloggin marine list (as I was very new to marines and didn't know any better) against a ap3 heavy guard tank list. 2 turns of really good rolls later and my force was atomised.

Lost my only two Flyrants, Walking Tyrant and a Carnifex in a 1250pt game against Skyhammer. That's nearly 1000 of my points on the top of Turn 1 shooting. I conceded and moved on with my day against another opponent.

Just to make it really sad and depressing, he had seized the Initiative, so it was just plain bad luck that I couldn't even get my bugs in the air when I was meant to...

Turn 1 Ork victory against DE playing Kill Points. Turn 1 my Tankbustas in a battlewagon with killkannon get first blood on a Raider for 3 VP (first blood, glory hog, KP). Killkannon blows up 90% of the squad that exited the vehicles. Flash Gitz in a battlewagon dakka down a Venom, Killkannon kills a clump of jump pack infantry. Boyz on foot shoot into some jet bikes killing a bike. Manz missile flats out into the face of the 2 remaining skimmers. His shooting doesn't do much other than chip a HP or 2 off the battlewagon, charges in with the bikes killing half the boyz from all the HoW attacks but the boyz with the painboy and PK nob kill the unit. At the end of the turn it was basically 6 KP to 0 and with MANz in position to multi charge the remaining skimmers plus there wasn't much left that could dent the battlewagons. He conceded at that point. Bad rolls really did him in as he couldn't seem to make any cover saves and my scatter rolls on the killkannons where on point. He had a big harlequin squad but I don't know how well it would of fared surviving 20 shoota boyz, 10 flash gitz, a killkannon, and possibly some tankbusta fire (and the 2nd kill kannon).

I have the winner- Not me but I heard this many years ago.

3rd edition Kroot Mercs vs. Alpha Legion (so everything on both sides has infiltrate). A single roll off to see who deploys first (in 3rd you didn't alternate deploying infiltrating units, it was army by army) Kroot player sets up their army in such a way the AL player cannot deploy.

Wins.

I once played an Ork player who decided as a joke to take toys over boys at 1850 points. Lots of Meganobs in trukks wiht a Mega Armour Warboss and a Battlewagon, with Lootas, Mech Gunz, and a Bettlewagon with a giant cannon (can't remember the name) in support. I took my standard Eldar Warhost, Guardian Battlehost+Aspect Host and a Nightspinner. He went first.

He conceded at the end of turn two. None of his units made it to CC.

4th edition game, Dark Eldar vs Guard.

Dark Eldar player deploys his surfer Lord with Webway portal, keeps everything else in reserve to come through the portal.

Turn 1, Guard goes first, drops a battlecannon round on the lord.

Lord fails his field save, and is turned into paste.

Game ends, as the Webway portal was not yet deployed.

I don't have any super-short matches, but shortest was my campaign game vs Ultramarines. He had a Sicarius-led Deathstar on a Drop pod which made up like 40% of his points. It came on turn 1, he elected very safe drop...then rolls Scatter - 12 inches straight towards the table edge - only place where Drop Pod can mishap. Terrible accident! Entire unit is destroyed! Rest of the game didn't take long after that.

My fastest win was my 1000 de in 3rd vrs necrons. He had a monolith. Minimum "necrons" bunched up behind. My first turn - raider fires at monolith. Hits, 6 For the pen, on the damage = destroyed. It blew up wounding a bunch of the warriors. Enough died - causing phase out. Believe that one ended in turn 1/2. No more then 20 minutes.

Had another game vrs Necron - he had a deep strike army. Deployed a few warriors out with a ghost arc, right at the edge of deployment, as close to center as he could get. My venom spam DE did the same. I had first turn and the DE did BAAAAAAD things to the crons. He clearly underestimated splinter weapons and blasters at close range, and i proceeded to wipe out every unit on the board. His turn one came.... And ended with everything still in reserve. No units on table at end of turn = game over.

Early game with 5e Necrons, it was the first time I decided to try out all the teleport shenanigans now available to me.

So of course, all three of my teleport assault squads (2xVoD, Obyron) Mishapped and died, leaving me with... well, actually, everything I had was in those three squads or in reserve (Deathmarks), and the game didn't make it out of my movement phase. I had first turn, naturally.

The dark behind the eyes.

We had a 2v2 recently where one player was using GKs. He had a big terminator squad with Draigo and a Librarian in reserve, which he could roll for on turn 1 (thanks to the GK detachment).

Anyway, they go first and he gets his reserves. He opts for a somewhat risky deep strike, which promptly scatters onto an enemy model and then rolls a 1. Goodbye Draigo, Librarian and Terminators.

He immediately conceded and we basically restarted the game.

My fastest games I can remember

5th my orks vs chaos space marine reserve outflanking shenanigans army. The fist turns where really fast, almost nothing of my opponent on the board. I just blocked off the right side of the board with a few boyz and grots and fought the rest off with the rest of my army.

6th Space wolves drop pods vs my orks turn 2 everything was in close combat No idea how it ended but it was bloody and fast.

7th any battle vs a sreamer star.. . :\

6th (post escalation era) My terminator army vs the trancentand c'tan. This was so silly that it was actually a fun game.

This is the one I liked the most. But needs some explanation.
6th (post escalation) I usually played a 6th green tide style army, and I knew my dark eldar opponent liked to list tailor to the extreme and always claimed that "it was his normal all-round list but that he just wanted to try something new".
So I went for AV14 w2 kill Bursta tanks and maxed out pie plate dropping battle wagons. He just happened to bring all out venom splinter cannon spam "by accident".

5th edition. My Daemons vs. Grey Knights.
He went first, cast Warp Quake with 4x Combat squads of Strike + 2x Combat Squads of 'Ceptors, then uses his run movement to spread everything out to full 2" coherency.
I have nowhere left to deploy that isn't inside a quake bubble. Game over without ever getting to legally deploy a single model.

But apparently Grey Knights were just "well balanced" back then, and Daemon players were nothing but whiny, spoiled brats who just needed to L2P...

6th, Tau vs Dark Eldar. I made a list to test all FW Tau stuff (it was right after Y'vahra's rules were released). In my first turn I cook some infiltrating Mandrakes and barely damages his vehicles (didn't have makerlights in that list), whilst I flat-out some TX42 Piranhas to entice him.

His turn, he fires all he has at the 42s. 12 Dark Lances (Y'vahra was too far for poison). Only 4 hit, and in the end... he managed to do a GLANCING hit on one 11/11/10, 2HP, open-topped model. He was so disappointed he conceded. 20min game.

Orks and Necrons vs Tau and SM/Inqui

Orks have 2 squads of 15 boyz, Meganobs, MegaWarboss, a looted tank (white dorf), a weird boy and a grot artillery thing.
Necrons have a lot of warriors, crypteks in all of the squads and deathmarks
Tau have a lot of fire warriors, a riptide and devilfish
SM have a min squad of tacticals, a min squad of scouts, Chapter master Smashfether, a vindicare and corteaz with psyker retinue.

Turn one, Riptide implodes the looted tank, Mega nobs disembark, Vindicare kill the grot artillery gun
Weird boy teleports one of the boy squads into the SM line then dies from rolling 1 on perils

Turn 2
Riptide kills some more stuff, vindicare starts shooting at crypteks, Smashfether kills the boy squad and orbitals the meganobs and the warboss to death
Deathmarks teleport to kill the Chapter Master

Turn 3
Necrons are basically pasted by the riptide and the vindicare, Smashfether runs over the deathmarks.

Whole game took an hour

Drop pod wolves/tig star against Tau gunline in 7th. His army was full of interceptor and AP2/3. Because I could only drop half my army turn 1, the first wave was nearly wiped out by turn 2. Due to crappy reserve rolls, the only thing that came on was a 5 man tac squad. Tabled on turn 2.

6th edition before the new nid book, maybe 5th?.

I was playing drop nids, and had just about everything in reserve except for three biovores, a tervignon, and a mawloc. I burrowed the mawloc, then watched as my opponent (a dark eldar player) promptly poisoned my tervignon to death with a hail of splinter cannon fire, dark lanced one of my biovores. The remaining two hoofed it off the table, and my game was over.

I was playing grey knights, he was playing TAU. My list is a shunt heavy list, his was a gun line with 3 riptides, 9 broadsides, lots of fire warriors/pathfinders.

Rolled, I went first. I shunted my entire army into point blank range.. I roasted everything that had a 4+ save. there were 0 firewarriors/ pathfinders left on the board and a grp of broadsides were falling back after failing leadership. His hit back killed 2 gk interceptors, and put 1 wound on a dreadknight. turn 2 everything was in close combat. we called it there. game lasted about 20 minutes.

My quickest game ever would probably be one of the ones from when we still used Assault on Black Reach. Turn 1 the saw the marines bring the deffkoptas down and because of some really bad roles, we lost the warboss with a powerklaw. There was nothing in the list that could penetrate the dreadnoughts armour and we were playing the beginner "kill everything" style game, so we called the game there.

The quickest game I played to completion would be the first time I faced a drop pod army. Grey knights swept in and destroyed all of my little orks with their nova psychic powers and flamers. I had reserves, but the failed to come in on turn two. Tabled beginning of turn 2.

Do Grey Knights/ Daemonhunters still have the special rule that buffs daemons? I remember the codex from when I first got into the hobby had a designers note saying how because they were tailored to fighting daemons, so while they were pointed at the level of a normal army for other matchups, they then gave extra bonuses to daemon armies to balance it out.

3rd edition saw many of the shortest games I ever played.

There was a mission that I believe was called breakout. One side set up in the center of the board and needed to reach either short board edges. This army also got first turn. If that army was Eldar or Dark Eldar and they had transports, it was basically an auto-win for them. This game only lasted 1/2 a turn unless something weird happened.

As for a "real" game, I played a mission that TOTALLY favored my opponent. My mostly foot-slogging Necron needed to cross 36 to 48 inches of board in 6 turns in order to win, and he got first turn. However, the dice gods were not on his side as three broadsides (3rd edtion strength 10) and a hammerhead failed to even dent my Monolith. I lost about two models. After some good shooting on my turn I had wiped out all his vehicles, his commander, and his broadsides. He rage quit at that point. Total time: 30 minutes for a 2000 point game.

Fastest game ever was a game against Daemons with my GKs. Against a real d-bag. It was 5th edition and this guy needed to be taught a lesson.

So I made a list with tons of Strike Squads and Interceptors. On turn 1 I totally covered the board in Warp Rift. he came in and I basically annihilated most of his units. Many got destroyed by the deep strike mishap, others got placed in the teeth of my guns, the rest got put back in reserves to do it again next turn.
