Hi all,

This is my first time working with HH models, and I loved the nature of the Night Lords. Not yet succumbed to chaos, but deemed traitors all the same. That and as legions go, I find their Terror/Fear Armour much more appealing! So here's a few images of my work so far.

The model on the stairs is actually Sevatar First Captain from FW.

Been a while since I gave my Night Lords some love.

There is a store painting competition coming up for a monstrous creature or vehicle by the end of the month. I decided to dust off my NL contemptor.

He's in a relatively early WIP but would really appreciate CnC. I think my main aim is to blend colours better, although I do like contrasts. I want to beat some of my competition, as there are some good air-brushers!

Been working on Sevatar's command squad. It's a shame I can't take them in Term/Catapracti Armour for the Atrementar. For the moment I'm considering this army as pre-Atrementar and Terror Elite prior to there induction.



CnC welcome. Apothecary is a little out there. I'm not certain on the plas pistol stand in on two of the champions rights arms. They are meant to be equipped with combat shields as well.

I would love some advice on setting up the actual squad. So far I have them with,
1x Lightning Claw
2x Power Weapons
1x Power Fist
Apothecary with power weapon & Narthecium
All with Melta bombs and combat shields.
With a drop Pod to get them in early, and allow my 6 man Termie squad to deepstrike in with no scatter on 6".

@Gordon - Apologies my man I totally missed your comment. I'm not 100& from memory but I think a Rakarth base, Reikland wash, then built up from pallid, and edge whites.

Apologies I didn't see the updates since this plog moved over. Thank you for your comments.

I've decided to combine my Heresy work into one place much like my AoS work. So much easier to keep tabs on.

My local GW started a "Start Collecting Boxset" challenge. Off the back of a new Calth box and some Blood Angel bits, I decided I would convert the marines and terminator captain to merge with my 30k army. Oh and I get a nice Baal Pred to boot!

Without further adieu here's the start on my Blood Angels:



I'm using kitchen worktop edge stripping for the basing. I get a nice marble effect, with no hassle of hand painting!

I was initially looking for a white marble to make them pop, but I couldn't wait any longer to get stuck in!

Hi all,

Put some time into my 2k list for an upcoming apocalypse game this Sunday. Managed to get most of my marines base coated!

Oh and I also located an acrylic "Midnight Blue" spray can, that I tested out on my Venator.



Comparisons between the spray when dried, and a normal Kantor blue base. Both on black base coats. I think the colour is perfect, but it has a real shine to it that I had to dull down.



Here you can see were I have used Army painter Anti-Shine on the front track covers to reduce the shine.

Caught a few snaps from a Horus Heresy Apoc game I played a few weekends back. Hope you enjoy! It was a 3 v 4 @ 8k per team.

Up next though. I have a BR on my first outting with my 2k Night Lords Terror Row list:













At this point we reset the match somewhat. I assaulted from my Dreadclaw turn one which is a NO NO. So Pod goes back, heat blast is still in effect, and the Death Guard missile squad + Delegatus returns.


Allowing my opponent to smash the pod, but only lose 1 occupant to the explosion.



Only for the same squad to chew through the delegatus and missiles again. Chainglaives are awesome!



Working up the flank to a 7 man + master of signals in the far right building.



My Venator loses its HP to combined Deredeo and Rapier batteries



I dropped in my Terminators following Sevetar to take on the Contemptors. Hoping the four chainfists will be enough! Oh and 4 melta shots.


Unfortunately that's all I took.

However the Termies survived a 40 shot fury of the legion... No one died Gotta love a 2+/4++/5++ (I have a primus medicae in there as well)

I lost on VP's 7 - 1, as he snuck a rhino with Tax sqaud into my rear deployment zone, and stupidly I didn't keep even a 5 man terror sqaud back to negate it. Otherwise I think I would have had the match.

Main think I learnt. Quad Rapier Batteries are awesome!

I recently played in a Knock Out HH Tournament. The first round anyway. Luckily I won! We played on the Tides of War mission. With the gradual VPs for deployment, no mans land, and then enemy deployment.

Here's what I captured of the game: 1k Night Lords Vs Sons of Horus

I won the roll for turn one, and got my 2+ for Night Fighting.

The Sons then seized the initiative!

On my turn I somehow forgot to charge the assault squad with my terror squad even after shooting a few of them down. It was to late to go back so I conceded the charge to my opponent.


Sons turn two, and both reserves of the Fire Raptor, and Javelins come in.


The combat grinds on.


I charge in the Delegatus to help turn the tide. Whilst assaulting the rhino with both my contemptor cortus, and terror squad.


Luckily I blow up the Rhino with the chainfist


Leaving my terror sqauds with some targets!


One Terror sqaud was pretty much on overwatch the whole match til turn 4.

I brought them down once the Raptor had flown off the board and engage in the melee.

This way I contested no mans land for 5 VP's vs my opponents 3 for retaining his Delegatus in his deploy zone.

Oh and as a bonus, here's what I've worked on so far for my Day of Revelation BA list.

Thanks EDC for being honest.

What I may do is create another step on the base to raise the sword off the ground so it doesn't look like its being dragged.

I'm also looking to raise some of these guys off the base so hopefully can achieve that with a few well placed rods.
