If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

There was also some sort of Sci-fi toy line, kinda like Manta Force, but it made heavy use of magnets and shape-changing mechanisms. Can't remember what it was called, though.

Was it Starcom?

Yes! Cheers.

Looking through the web is starting to remind me of how awesome toys were back then. Reminded myself that I had a lot of Construx, which is kinda like Lego, and a fair few Zoids.

Ah yes, had some Construx stuff too. No Zoids, though. I did have a single Fischertechnik model racing car that my dad got as a gift through his work.

My Lord of the Rings Return of the King (3rd edition) SBG starter set, the one with orcs and warriors of Minas tirith. I got it in 2003 at the age of 12. 12 years later I still have all the models and I'm still wargaming to my parents surprise.

Also had a load of action men as a kid. My favourite was one with a working parachute. It got stuck on the roof regularly.
I once dug a big hole in the flower bed and pretended it was a trench. Even used sticks for planning and supports, and made a little dugout. Shame I didn't have a camera at the time, would have made for some great photos.
I also had fun catapulting them across the garden using the washing line. But that soon stopped when one hit the garden fence HARD, starfish position with the limbs all splayed out and it just exploded. It was spectacular.

Lets see here...

Start off with a staple for many years, Stickle Bricks. I loved the 'Centurions' tv show, but I could never get any toys of them, so I ended up making them out of stickle bricks.

Then my main toys were The Ghostbusters. - I had the station too, but my parents took the slime off me immediately, so it lost half the fun.

Various Transformers toys. Though, the toys available were way too inconsistent and scattered to get a proper collection. I think the only actual Transformer I had from the tv show was... Of course...

I also had a whole heap of Turtles things. - Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in the UK. - Ninja was deemed too contentious a word! Unlike ButteryCommissar, apparently Scotland had a decent supply of them. Or maybe my relatives in the states kept my parents supplied with them for Christmas presents?

From there, it was the primarily the Batman The Animated series toys. I then had a good sized X-Men collection. - Actually, these two were probably my most 'complete' collections.

I also had some Terminator 2 toys because... I don't know why? They looked cool, I certainly never saw the film back then. Oh, several Jurassic Park toys too.

Actually, come to think of it. That was rather fethed up as a toy concept for a young kid. Like, seriously messed up.

From there, like many kids of my age group... It was the Power Rangers years. And they lasted... A while.

Now, one thing about Scotland during the 90's. It isn't like today where you can get films 'on demand' or streamed to your TV.

Nope, there was a video rental store and, chances are, unless your friends you personally knew liked something, chances are, you'd have never heard of it.

What I'm basically saying is.

Was my first ever real exposure to Star Wars. Nineteen Ninety-Five and my first experience of Star Wars. Fortunately, TIE Fighter was a flipping amazing game and I fell in love with Star Wars.

Then, despite still not actually having seen the films, I went massively into Star Wars toys, games and books. But, of course, not actually having seen the films, what did I gravitate towards? The Star Wars from the games. In other words. Micro Machines, particularly the Micro Machines 'Action Fleet' series. At the same time, I was also having great fun playing with my 'Micro Machines military' toys. But I always wanted the sides to be 'fair' and if they weren't, I had to set up the fights so that there were tactics and things to be used.

It wasn't until the 1997 'Star Wars Special Edition' cinema releases that I actually saw the films. I continued to play with them, buying the action figures too. Then, at the end of that year... Just after Christmas, actually. I wandered into some workshop in St Albans, looking to buy a computer game...

And that's I think where I will end that story...

I had that toy, and I loved it because it was a visceral reminder that the books existed; the young rex was omitted from the movie but the fact that there was a toy let me remind my 3rd grade friends that the book was indeed a thing that existed. Also why I found Dr. Grant's bow mystifying.

A Protoss colony world

I grew up with:
Toys:
Legos, mainly the space ones, but some of the Adventurers ones as well as a lot of Star Wars ones. I still have 'em!
Wooden train set (I believe the brand was Brio). This was my favorite during my early childhood. Then I got into the legos.
A few toy guns, but nothing amazing there.
Plenty of Hot Wheels cars, and a couple of small track sets (including the well-known set with the loop and jump).
Plastic Army Men. Loads of fun was had by me and my brother having little wars both indoors and outdoors.
TV shows:
Reboot (was my favorite on Saturday mornings)
Beakman's World
Bill Nye the Science Guy
When I was really little, I loved Thomas the Tank Engine.
Video Games:
I started with my mom's old Atari 2600 system, but it eventually crapped out. Later I got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas. My favorite game for a while was Diddy Kong Racing. Then I discovered Super Smash Bros., and I've loved those games ever since. That N64 still works, although my brother has hold of it at the moment.
Outside:
Golf. Started playing at age 10, and still occasionally hit a course and play. I'm not any good, but it is fun.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

There's a DVD of the entire thing. By the end they gave up colouring it in properly.
They only ever made that farting...I mean croaking... spaceship, and the toad double bubble thing that looked like a toad head, and shot claws out. That also made weird noises.
They never made the Righteous Indignation, Screaming Mimi (Commander Dogstar's ship) or the very um, "sexy" cat first mate. Probably because she looked like a hairy pornbot.
