Also- that's 24 stealer cult guys by my count..

did not see the blurb my bad. Looks like deathwatch is now more like suicidewatch. That's a lot of stealers.

So 32-ish models?

Judging by the desert bases, this won't be on a space hulk either.

Alright, definitely getting this.

At first it was the DW marines that had me excited, but those stealers just pushed me onto the hype train.

To be fair, GW comes out with some cracking box sets.

Those are excellent, nice to see GW recognising how great their old designs are and improving upon them, rather than releasing bland garbage for AoS.
Please let this be a step in the right direction.

The mining lasers and picks/hammers kinda sound like a subterranean setting, ala BaC.

Well, as the sneak peeks continue, what you get in the box isn't looking worse.

Plus, on a purely personal bias, as an Ultramarine collector, the Cassius is a no brainer. I may even try a head swap with a spare 2nd Ed Chaplain so he can still have a bionic face.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Wondrous. Glorious. Ruinously expensive. I'll take two

Seriously though, I'm extremely impressed, the details are fantastic, and I love that they've come up with a fluff justification(mining gear) for the Cult attire having a unique look. Hell I thought the "I'll take two" bit was a joke, but I already have half a dozen ideas for INQ28 conversions, so I'll just have to hope there will be some left to pick up an extra the month after release.

I don't know what's up with GW these days, just when you think they're back to screwing folk on price they put out Calth and the Start Collecting boxes; just when you think they've forgotten the value of their own IP they bring out Mechanicus and Cult models; just when you think all their talented sculptors have either left or been instructed to work the CAD software using only their left earlobe, we get these stunners. All of those things are good, of course, it's just confusing that the same studio is shifting so radically in attitude or quality from one release to the next.

EDIT: Ohhhh myyyy, the bitz, the glorious glorious bitz. New servo-skulls, the heads, finally a good quality Deathwatch shoulderpad for artscale Marines, and by god I think that's a plastic MKII/III backpack on the Iron Hand(and, shock-horror, I actually prefer it to the FW design). Oooh, and a cyber-bird. I'm actually more excited for this than I was for BaC - kudos GW, kudos.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

.... guess we've also just seen what everyone will be using as Khan in their White Scars armies for the next X years too.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Any news on the rules? No interest in 40k light, but if it has a standalone ruleset similar to Space Hulk then I could be in.
