32mm is an odd size, are they making them to match GW sizes? Yeah, you could get away with that, although the Smartgun Marine might be a bit wide for 25mm, but I do think I've seen it done so you might be in luck. You'll definitely want 30mm+ for the majority of the Aliens though.

SW definitely make them to match up with GW sizes (and tend not to bother 'completing' their ranges to match other systems, last I checked - grumble).

Having just started going through my stuff (lots of gak missing already...) I'd say the marines would look a bit silly on 25 mm even though they'd likely fit. Just skip the 25 mm altogether, it'll look waay too top-heavy.

(as far as fitting the model on despite how it'd look, remember the top of a 25 mm bevelled base is 23 mm across, and the inside of a 30 mm lipped base is... 23 mm across, so if a model fits *in* a 30 mm lipped base it **will** fit on a 25 mm bevelled base.)

A fair few of my Infant Warriors and Alien Warriors didn't fit inside the lip of the standard 30mm lipped bases FYI, I had to assemble them with one foot up on the lip.
Thankfully the Fenris bases are raised so it's a slight overhang rather than a shonky angle once transferred.

With the adult Warriors, it was so bad with certain poses I ended up just putting them on 40mm bases, which look much better (and incidentally are what the models were designed for, before being changed to 30mm for game balance reasons).

I'm not worried about playing the game, I'd like them mainly for display purposes... so would you guys say then, 30mm for USCM, 40mm for all Xenomorphs and Predators?
50mm for Power loader and Queen?

For display? 30mm for Marines, 30mm/32mm for smaller Aliens, 40mm for adult Alien Warriors and Predators, 40mm for Power Loader, 60mm for the Queen.

The overhang the Infant Warriors have on 30mm is so slight that you barely notice it, and 32mm might fix it entirely so there's no need to go 40mm for them, just the grown-up version.

Great photos, your aliens really look dramatic and sinister with that crazy lighting! Do you have a zoomed-out view of the table itself?

Curnow,
Absolutely fantastic conversions. I can tell by the work you have done on the aliens you are quite adept at sculpting. For the marines in the first shot. What figures are those? Are they custom sculpted? If they are conversions, where did you get the heads with hats? Also, where did you get the medic bag? Please provide some details and instructions for those of us who are not as talented.

Thanks,

NECA CineMachines stuff arrived today. Probably a bit small for the AvP figures, but still very usable, esp. the Space Jockey.

Scale of the APC (going by the full size APC dimensions on the back of the box) is 1/54 scale. Length with the turret up is 6.25". Tires scale to 62.5" tall.
Somewhere I have a MicroMachines APC which is about the same size, but I need the find it to measure it for sure

Found one of my Action Fleet (not Micromachines) Alien APCs, still in the packaging and ripped it open to compare the two vehicles. THEN I decided to look them up on Ebay... Oops! The cheapest one still in the package is $115 and they go up to $399, so finding these cheap on Ebay is not going to happen, and I lost a lot of the collector value by shredding the package.

Anyway, how about some pics?
The Action Fleet APC is appreciably larger, and more in scale than the NECA version.

It also opens, both top and side door and has the squished alien on the underside.

Nice comparison! I never had the Micromachines APC. But looks nice. The NECA is unfortunately very dissapointing. Small, terrible detail and Paint job. Even the Micromachines one beats it in detail :(
Wish NECA would have made them better. I would gladly pay more money for a good model.
I´m not 100%sure about the size in the movie. But the NECA looks too small for sure. The Micromachines looks somewhat fitting. Maybe still a wee bit too small. The Halcyon slightly too large, but maybe still best fitting?

Hi guys.
I got one question:
Models are made from resin - what quality it got?
Yesterday, I get model from resin from finecast and Im terrifed of its quality.
Comparing this two can you tell me if its better/worse?

The minis are very detailed and clean casted. Nothing to complain about. The only problem was my queen shich seemd to be cast with too soft resin. On temperatures above 20° she literally was kneeling down. Unbelievable for her majesty haha
But seem it was a problem with no good resin of one shipment. I received a replacement queen and so far she doesn´t bend down ^^

It's far superior to Finecast. Excellent detail, have had almost no miscasts in any of the miniatures I've looked at so far.

I posted on the AVP KS update thread that I just received my order from Prodos Games that I had placed 11 days ago. I ordered an "All In" Mega bundle for 40% off MSRP and paid $24 flat rate shipping to the US. It arrived here in Florida in good condition today (!!!) and I couldn't be happier. So if you are looking to grab some more of these fantastic AVP miniatures now is the time to do it as the offer expires at the end of August. I may buy another Mega Bundle just to have spares!
