That may be GW of doing things and even if I can understand the inventory trim I do not agree with the background/rules obliteration. There is effectively no investment from them by keeping it stored online. It would show good will and maturity towards a struggling new game. It this case less is just less.

There is no conflict between someone getting Stormcasts and reading and getting inspired by old lists. By the contrary it expands your GW experience.

Not too worried about it just find it shortsighted.

But if said prospective player were to be inspired by rules for old models that GW doesn't produce anymore, then that person is going to scour the internet looking for appropriate models to use for those rules instead of buying something from GW.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not in favor of squatting the army, but if that is their intent, then I understand not wanting to keep hosting their rules, as well.

In reality thats exactly what happened with AoS, many people these days collect GW models for their Oldhammer and KOW armies. Thats why I said they should show some maturity towards their decisions.
Its not realistic to expect that everyone will simply stop with their regiment battles just because GW decided to stop with that venue as is not realistic to expect that TK collectors will burn and forget their armies.
A smart company would keep as many of these venues alive specially with Zero investment.

Now that TK are going, some of the same rumour sources that predicted it are saying that the Brettonians are next in line to be removed.

EDIT: Just seen that Krell, Crom and Wulfrik are gone. The models have been renamed 'exalted hero of chaos' etc. Looks like GW is purging even more fluff.

Just made my order. Waited too long and now Ushabti with Great weapons (still probably the best models GW ever put out for fantasy imho) are sold out on the US store. And I need 6.

Still really disappointed.

Well, AoS is, what, 1000 years after end times? No wonder at least a few old heroes are dead.

Sad to see TK disappear.

Just a heads up, Bretonnia are next up on the gallows. I just made my last purchase for Brets this week to complete my army. I would advise everyone else to do so as well.

Wow... I just bought several lots of Tomb Kings for my Kings of War, Empire of Dust. Shame that they just made filling in the gaps in my collection that much harder.

I never thought I would be on this end of being "squat"'d, but part of me always hoped if conventional Fantasy made a reappearance thanks to Specialist Games Pt. 2, I might be able to field these guys as TK.

Eh... GW has made many better choices in recent months and is showing some signs of maturing or improving, but somehow everything pertaining to Age of Sigmar just continues to be further bad decisions, and a digging deeper of this whole mess.

Well i can see why the tk's bit the dust there really wraped up in there pyramids and what not so if theres no pyramids theres no tombs so no kings.

Its a shame as i've a smallish tk army and i could finally field it all without worrying about the 25% limits etc. Oh well ive got the scrolls printed off just a shame i cant get more units to flesh them out.

GW Brussels put a photo with Bretonnian battalion (amongst Tomb Kings), stating they will be gone fron the store. So I guess Brets are really next.

I wonder if this frees up other minimakers to put out giant egyptian-themed animal-headed skeletons without getting a cold C&D up 'em?

But with their main applicability being for Warhammer/AoS, and the general eagerness of that market to keep up with the current meta, would enough people care? It's kinda like, what would all these aftermarket resin bits makers do if GW stripped space marines and orks from the 40K background?

Give it time. I'm sure that when they get around to Dark Elves, Morathi will just become a 'Exile Sorceress on Dark Pegasus', for example. As they get around to each army, they'll rename the special character models they're keeping to something more generic. Lizardmen, anyone?

The Morathi model might, but we've had Morathi namedropped. She's the Priestess of Malerion(Malekith was somehow fused with his Black Dragon, Seraphon, post-End Times and is now being called Malerion. There's a sketch somewhere from a WD that had an image of him. He looks huuuuuuuge and has Black Dragon wings with spines running down his back).

It was an example. I'm not up on all the AoS fluff, and since Morathi seemed to have gotten herself eaten by Slaanesh during the End Times, I picked her to use.

But you get my point, right? These aren't going to be one-off things.

Morathi eaten by Slaanesh.

Somehow found by Malerion but distrusted.

Coincidentally, Slaanesh was apparently captured by the Tyrion, Teclis, and Malerion with some manipulation by Tzeentch.

I am almost half-expecting betrayal by Morathi at this point. Something like Morathi Avatar of Ur-Slaanesh with a new model to coincide with Alarielle's resurrection after Balance of Power.

I think the Morathi mentioned was much more along the lines of "used to be Morathi" than actually her as we know it.

And of course there was manipulation by Tzeentch. I think the only thing he hasn't seen coming what the Stormcast, and even then the first novel strongly implies that Kairos did see it coming but deliberately withheld that information from Tzeentch. Its also entirely possible that Tzeenth both did and did not know about Shrodinger's Stormcast, because the warp. But now I'm rambling off-topic.

Sad to the good TK models go, not gunna miss the pre-8th plastics though.

I absolutely got your point. That's why I posted what I did.

They just did that with the Grand Alliance: Chaos book. Several named Chaos characters are now generic ones. Wulfrik the Wanderer, Crom the Conqueror, Sigvald, and Vilitch are all generics now.

Edit: Sorry if it seemed like I was trying to correct you. I should have clarified a bit more and made it more obvious my post was supporting what you said rather than posting what I did.

So a interesting army of ancient Egyptian style undead that has been around in some form for about 20 years is to have all models and rules discontinued, whilst an army of Spess Mahreen rip-offs that all look almost the same and were introduced barely 8 months ago is to become the creators' favoured army for the game? Sounds perfectly fair and logical... NOT!

I'm not a fan of the Stormcasts either really, but if you are suggesting they drop their new model line so that they can keep their old model line... Well that sounds even more illogical lol.

I wonder if we'll see any more Death reboxed soon. I would like to see the Skeletons sold in a bigger box with a slight discount. 20 for £25 for example :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
