It has been a lot of fun, and I'm sad to go. We all put a lot of ourselves into writing these characters and these stories, and for me it's a bit too heartbreaking to find that someone's arbitrarily dismantled it.

Could we maybe retcon Chazz's attack to just a Major Victory where the Flayed Legions cultists weren't wiped out and instead maybe just driven into the depths of the Hive? I hate to lose EoN's writing.

I don't want to see anyone have to leave the crusade. I know it doesn't help but stir the pot, but if anyone is to blame here, I think it would be me. I let Chazz get the victory results and sent him on his way without making sure everyone was on board, and that it would be more inclusive with characters. I should've thought ahead, and used the skills a GM is supposed to have. All Chazz did was write what I gave him, I don't blame him for this.

What we have here is someone randomly declaring that they are gambling all their chips, and my chips, on a single roll behind the scenes. I had patience when Chazz snuck his army across two planets and to Cogger's front gate. I had patience when Chazz told WK he could teleport into my basement. And I had patience when Chazz's Inquisitors randomly discovered the stash of traitors outside Drake's Point that no one knew about.

I won't be returning to the Crusade to try and piece together what's left of my army. It's been fun writing with you guys, but the Flayed Legion was never intended to be someone else's NPC punching bag.

I let Chazz (and WK for that matter) do all the things bar the finding and the final gamble, which shouldn't have been a gamble at all. There is theoretically no chance that the Inquisitor and his dudes would have mowed down the other 2-3 million cultists in the upper tiers of the Hive.

Edit: I am on board for a polite retcon just in the sense that there was so much miscommunication between everyone.

so there isnt too much to be rewritten how about Chazz and my dudes mowed down a citadel just not the citadel. And missed the main army. Fell for some sort of ruse hq.

And this is your last warning about charming my admech, guys. Because the EC are looking to unload that tasty shuttle.

Also, Smudge, that is your Tau to do with what you see fit, I'm going to throw her into the bundle with the shuttle, and the admech are very likely not going to care/pay attention. So her landing point is the cold place.

Great, so now I'm stuck with 'allies' that will either A) make my dudes sick with their horrible hygiene, B) mind-feth the feth out of EVERYONE, or C) try to "improve" people by doing all sorts of surgery while threatening their butts.

EoN's cultists were at least somewhat normal. Sure their habits involved applying knife directly to the forehead, but hey, you don't get the loyalty of a dude who calls himself the Flayed Lord by just being a nice guy.

The main company the admech has so far is NPC kroot. And they aren't picky about what the admech is doing. A job is a job after all, and they were one of the first employers.

And Buttery, I rolled and discovered the material that was used to make Blood Dragon ruins, maybe the AdMech have use of this?

what did i awake to this time, I like many others adore the Flayed Legion and would hate to see them go, but if its his decision i can understand why EoN would want to go.

Ezra we are normal, we just all blow into the same tissue.

Out of interest was there any modifiers to Coggers roll ? I mean the odds were stacked against the Inquisition heavily, a Hive is a fortress and anyone attacking one will be peppered from above by the defenders almost every step of the way, just curious is all

EDIT: After reviewing the map Gore, if one was to go directly from Federov to Arcadis they would be close to Cogger and seeing as there is air cav stationed there it wouldn't be much of a stretch to think that while airborne they make have saw you guys to the north passing through

I'm sorry Irish, I'm very out of focus from lack of sleep right now. If I did throw in modifiers, they probably were not realistic enough for the scenario. Overall I did a poor job of handling it, which is one reason why I'm handing the cloak and mantle back to TS now.

Whats done is done no point moping about it, we can either try to "fix" it and hope EoN returns or just move on, the last few days have been bad for this crusade and it sucks that EoN left but imo it shouldn't take over the crusade as a whole. We can fix our mistakes or move on, reflecting on the past will help no one

I appreciate the thought, WK, but I despise retcons in general as they seem like cheap fixes. I write collaboratively, not competitively, which is why I prefer to PM folks when making rolls so we can maximize the epicness. Like Mordecai: killing off a character who supposedly had plot armor in the middle of a duel has good plot impact.

I appreciate the offers/demands for me to remain, but right now I'm in no condition RL-wise to do so. IF I return, it will be after a long discussion with whoever is the GM nowadays, and it will not be with the cultists. You can assume Lazzy and the gang escaped into the mountains or whatever, but I lack the energy these days to piece them back together yet again.

Carry on, and one of these days I'll be able to sit down and actually catch up on the RP thread.

So, instead of posting I ended up reading The Shape of the Nightmare to Come, 50K. I watch to OneMindSyndicate's youtube channel and saw a video about the fiction. One thing led to another and I ended up reading the entire thing. Kinda like The Death of the Emperor where i binged on that.
