I've been finding it hard to work out - do we have a large goal like with CoF, or is this more of an elbow space shuffle amongst people inhabiting Crion?

I don't really think there is an overarching goal like last time.

The only one I can see really as a story element is righting the civil war, either by eradicating the Tillers, deposing Tobias Payne, or negotiations. But not many people seem too invested in that storyline.

Well, as my Rogue Traders are still non combat, we'll take a crack at some politics...
But I can't see an end goal from my EC's point of view, and while they are up for proving prowess, they're not going to just stand around so they can be repeatedly kicked.

My Guard are here to fight the Tillers. So their goals are to do that, to survive, and to get some good looting done while they're at it

Hm, my EC would likely come down, find the biggest honorable target and kick its ass. They're about perfection, and will skip merrily away from scrubby little warbands if not deemed interesting.

My orks? Recapture the gribblies that escaped, and get some cool loot.

My kroot? Get some jobs out of this, which they aren't doing poorly with. A Governor is a rich man. A desperate Governor is a rich man willing to spend more.

My Marines are here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, my Guard are here for reasons of them being too nice.

The Disciples of Decay are here to convert everyone to Nurgle's cause.

The Emperor's Hounds are here to stabilise Crion, well officially anyway, they are also here to scan the local wildlife for exotic breeds of canines that they may breed into their own kennels but that is kept on the hush hush

Necrons are here to build the Megalith and take Crion.

Tau are here to help Necrons (and other Tau)

Tarellians are here to honor a contract

Sharks are here for Eldar

Redeemers are here to honor a debt to the Sharks

Orks are here because they were born here ...and to get a proper horde going.

My new guys are here to prove themselves against the enemies of humanity (mainly icky heretics ). Tillers are not on their radar that much.

so my IG are here to serve Imperial interests and Mechanicus interests.

My Hunters are here to capture tech alien and human.

Which one is going to do trolling, Vanden? If you mean my kroot, then they will do exactly what they are paid to do, no more, no less.

Well, I have 2 main forces:

Imperials, which is astartes with guard support (Little less than a Regiment)

NecronTauRellians, I have minimal Necrons (Maybe a couple hundred), Tau as a main force (not numbers wise), and Tarellians who are my Auxiliaries (Like meaner, angrier Kroot, but not as savvy).

EDIT: After I get school things situated and my forge built I'll start getting all the writing out, so far I have things for all of my guys and I need to get it all done

My Guard are always bored, so shooting traitors is always fun.

Though they do not take executions or torture well, so don't ask them if your Scions are sadists.
