Actually, Chazz was in charge of the endgame I'm just trying to speed up the process. I am sorry if I do appear to be using a lot of smoke and mirrors (because that's kind of what I'm doing)

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

It's more that if I or someone else asks, "Is there actually a plan?" we get "That's a secret. *Moustache twirl*"

We're not asking what the plan IS, just how much we are expected to mentally and time-wise invest into something that doesn't seem to have a finite lifespan.

Personally I'd like to think "Oh, next Summer, I could..." instead of "I don't know if this will ever stop being an introductory session of a perpetual thing."

We should be done by late spring? I only need the Gargant event up and Jhe to post one thing then I can start the endgame.

Aye man, I appreciate that answer.
I'm not asking for, "This'll be done by March 23rd 2017" more something like, "We're about halfway done, I have a couple of major events I see us needing to do." which gives the sensation of there having been a plot behind this, rather than, you know.

And by "endgame," I mean more of the final building to the climax. The Gargant was (supposed to be) in Act I, Cogger and New Pavus are technically Act II. Jhe can end Act II and Chazz and I will get started with Act III, which will end the Crusade afaik.

Ahh. That's the kinda clarity we all needed. Good stuff TS.

Please god, tell me it's not going to be seven months per act.
I don't even know if I'm going to be interested in 40k in 2018... o_o;

Also Blackjack wasn't aware that the Gargant was that pivotal, for anyone feeling he's holding us up.
He wasn't told, and thought it was just a combined bash-the-baddie. Had he known, he would not have postponed this much.

There are plans for a third CoF (or an a-like), WK. But I've not voiced them because I don't want to do what happened last time. And I'll continue not doing because that's not why I raised these queries.

I will say: It'll be fun, and it'll better accommodate people like yourself who don't always have a lot of free time (it'll also have more than two people running it).

Absolutely, which is why I've never brought this up, but WK asked.

The only issue with Fantasy is a lot of the regulars do not know the setting. If there was one, I think it should run in tandem, not in replacement.

But having thrown my hat in with a couple of folks and done a minor plan, it was worth mentioning so there wasn't a clash of organisation.

This is kind of an odd question, but does anyone remember if any of the CoF factions are still in the Charodon system? I only remember Bob's Scions.

Lord Captain Reynard remained on the planet, with his regiment and some of the Histans. He also runs vague vague shuttle and information services for people who were on the losing side.

Not that you could prove it.

That is very helpful information, thank you. Just in case you were curious, my duel writing project involves the system. It's going to be an attempt at filling in all the holes that were never answered or never could be answered.

It's then honestly worth reading the last page as the last few posts explain where he is, what state the Sheppards left the planet in, and some other bits about the system.

The factions still in the Charadon system would probably be:

The Tallarn 85th, who had taken the system. Lady-Governor Nasira has them based on Gallor Prime, the new capital of the subsector, IIRC.

Some Faustian survivors who may have stayed with Sheppard and Petra on Trisburg.

The Wolverines Valiant may have stayed sentinel but they belonged to Righteousrob.

Various Ork factions may have stayed, at least in part.

The Scions moved on, IIRC, but they would have some recruiting bases, I'd assume. No idea if Nasira and her fellow co-conspirator kept in contact.

There were still some NPC Slaanesh cultists holding the entrance to the local Warpstorm, but over the five years from Charadon to Crion, they may have been wiped out by the Tallarn, a rival warband, or themselves.

I think Tomb World Voor'han itself was in the vicinity, but the Imperials were unaware of it's status and significance.

That's all I can remember, apologise if I can't give more details.

EDIT:
I linked my summary para from the CoF for simplicity.
Sgt_Smudge wrote:The Charadon Crusade had ended on Grimdi. To some extent, Archarus and his coalition had succeeded. Bereft of manpower and morale, the surviving forces of the crusade set about setting the newly conquered boundaries. Across most of the Imperial worlds, entire swathes of the planets were stripped bare, utterly reaped by Archarus’ violent invasion. It would be many centuries before those worlds would ever be hospitable. Sandfall and Arcturia, in particular, were worth nothing to the Imperium now – even Arcturia’s froststeel was lost in the void. Grimdi, Thrisus, Gulchwater and Chormi were left for many years before terraforming could take place. Planets like Echison VII and Julla formed the boundaries of the new territory, fending off what little Ork raids that mustered against them. Gallor Prime quickly became the new Sector Capital, ruled over by the cunning Lord General Nasira. Despite Gallus leaving soon after the events on Grimdi, and taking many of the brainwashed Cadian 13th and Faustian forces into his forces, she was able to masterfully set up a defensive network, preaching the doctrine of fast reaction cavalry to her newly set PDF forces. Her sector was prosperous and well tended by Imperial standards, fed well from Echison VII, and augmented by Faustian troops from Trisburg. Her Tallarn commanders went on to become lords and ladies of their own worlds, except one.

Lord Sheppard, the ruler of Trisburg, and his wife Lady Petra, ruled fairly and justly – much like the Ultramarines Sheppard had served with. Space Marine envoys often arrived at Trisburg, from both the Ultramarines and the Black Templars, to the Death Ravens and the Wolverines Valiant.

Of the Space Marine forces “missing in action” on Grimdi, many showed up at their homeworlds, escorted by a vessel known as the ‘Reforged Sovereign’.
Captain Julius and what remained of his company reported assault by daemonic forces, and were forced to declare the loss of Strikeforce Praetoria.
Strike Commander Ajuran would not speak of his encounter to his chapter – after a lengthy investigation, the commander was let off any charges.
The Histan 97th regiment was later refounded on Hista, following the miraculous reappearance of Colonel Detta and his closest companions.
Back on Cadia, the Cadian 13th began it’s seventh refounding, now under the mantle of Colonel Gisgo.
Acting-Captain Aurelius vanished without a trace.

The sector experienced little xenos activity after the battle on Grimdi. The Tau Empire had been eradicated from the sector by the 85th Scions, who sent up a training fortress on their world. The crashed Tau Manta is still used as a training ground to this day.
The Eldar forces vanished as inexplicably as they had came, giving no warning or reasoning. Craftworld Iybraesil has since been identified as hunting down Iron Warrior splinter fleets that abandoned Archarus.
Necron activity is always suspected in the Western front, but no evidence has been found. The world of Voor’han periodically emits unusual frequency broadcasts, but nothing has yet been found.
The two ork warbands that joined and subsequently betrayed Archarus, Waaagh! Nox and Narlug hold their conquered worlds, but do not invade the Imperial territory. However, rumours abound of a ‘supa-lazor’ being built on Novus Regulus by the insane and inventive Big Mek Moganog. Other rumours say he’s merely compensating for something.
Waaagh! Nox was last seen leaving the system, hunting a force known only by Imperial records as the Remnants.
No sightings of the Remnants have been recorded since the Gallor Prime Incident.

Also, I feel like I should add that I agree with BC's concerns, and think that it's good to see that there is an overarching plot, even if it isn't necessarily visible all the time. Again, I'm sorry for the delay, and I didn't realize that the Gargant was as vital to the plot as it actually is. And I would give an ETA on it, but I don't trust myself to give one.

Regarding the funeral I think it happens after the Gargant. Regarding the time frame I think that the Gargant, Cogger Hive, and New Pavus all happened at more or less the same time. This explains why not all the Imperials were at any event. Forces busy at Cogger couldn't participate the Gargant and forces at the Gargant couldn't make it to New Pavus. So if your guys are busy at the Gargant they can still attend the funeral meeting
