Picture this: You are fighting off a Tyranid assault in real life. How would you feel?
You can chose from any army in 40K.
If I were a space marine, I'd just do my job, as I know no fear.
If I were an imperial guardsmen, I'd feel scared as hell, but fight it off anyway.
If I was an ork, I'd just fight it and be jubilant.
What about you guys?

Fighting those giant crawly monsters would be scary as hell. Anyone here would be fighting to maintain their composure while they grabbed whatever weapon was available to keep them away from you.

Imagine earth.. just earth.. in it's current state being invaded by Tyranids. If they are at all in a semblance of the fictional army in 40k... we'd be so screwed and I might just lay down and die.

There was a really, REALLY, good write-up about exactly this some time ago. It was sort of a fan-fic about Britain vs Tyranids making planetfall. I'll see if I can find it when I get back home.

If it's a full blown tyranid invasion - I'd crap my drawers, go AWOL, find close elements of my family, and find a shuttle to vacate.
I'd be that rare guardsman that lives.

Age of Sigmar - It's sorta like a clogged toilet, where the muck crests over the rim and onto the floor. Somehow 'ground marines' were created from this...

Better that than getting eaten by aliens that mutate based on your genes or use you to spawn more stuff. Not to mention all the Venom sacs. Poison isn't the best way to die.
