Judging by my opinion of the American Right and UK Conservative policies - I'm distinctly against them.

I consider myself right wing, but there are a lot of policies and thought processes in the right wing that disgust me. So on certain matters I am very liberal, but only on very specific matters. There should always be balance, even in political views. It's usually the people that are completely one direction that have an intolerance.

I tend to not categorize my views between the two personally, as I try to refer to the self-evident matters in governance; standing more for the matter of their observation/recognition and less in their revised reiteration of it via group think. I'm definitely not a 'centrist' though.

Still, the identifier between the labels are an easier association even if it is arbitrarily divisive at times. If there is one side I identify with, it is the US republican right but not the 'GOP'.

I definitely do not stand for the US 'left'. It is, in essence, a platform that represents tyranny by numbers and not actually for liberty at all (not the people per say). That and it promotes government as a business, which is like exclusive corporatism.

I am fairly middle really.

Which makes me a socialist by US standards of course.

Well, don'thate me, but in my troubled youth(starting around 1981), i was a skinhead. Not a white power skin, but i was friends with them.
I can say i have grown up and the army and 16 months in afghanistan have helped me along a bit. But i'm still quite "right wing". For the flag and believe in "white pride", not white power.
I believe people should be proud of their country, their heritage and their religion.

You should note that"left" and "right" in American politics is not a reflection of actual political left and right. Similarly, one can be socially left without being left in other areas.

I'm mostly for independence and self reliance as opposed to taking what other people have earned and giving it away to lazy sods that just want to lounge about.

I say right, but really I would like to see some balance between the two. That'll never happen with the media being so left-biased it isn't funny, though. That's why Fox News gets blasted all the time; compared to the rest of the news channels they are right-wing crazies, and really they are closer to the middle.

I'm a left winger, for sure. Which is not to say I agree with everything any left wing person has ever done or said of course.

With the multi national membership of this forum, I would think that "right" and "left" is generally not as clear as it would be for individual countries. there are too many degrees and a lot of disagreement and general ill will between the US, Europe, Canada, Australia, etc... most of the folks I know tend to be "liberal" on most social issues, but "conservative" on financial issues.
