Most of the colors roughly blocked in. Still need to decide what to do for the little shields. And then more coats, washes, highlights etc. But that’s just painting. Decisions are often the hardest part.

I've been threatening to do this for a while so here goes. I've had this Autarch built for a wee while so let me know if it's no good. I do intend to add more to him like grenades and such.

Im glad I switched my entry, this one fit with this months theme a lot more.

A surprise potential deployment has forced me to scale this back though and kind of rush through it : / . I was going to do a large battle scene on a bigger base.

I... actually don't know. Help?

Since I won't be able to prime, the first Abaddon Black coats are being applied tomorrow. Stay tuned for Kylo Ren! Wait, I need a name... Kylork Ren? No, he's a Marine... Kylo Rey? Wait, that's from my fan fiction... A-ha! Kylo SPESSMAHREEn!

@Ustrello - thanks! My miniatures are photographed with either a Canon T2i or T6s -- even though they're, like 10 years apart in manufacturing date, the photos for minis are indistinguishable.

The T2i has a Canon 17-55/2.8 zoom lens on it, and the T6s is home to a 100mm f2.8 macro lens. Most of the photos I took were with cheap, ordinary CFL daylight bulbs for lighting against a white cloth backdrop in my hobby room, but the last three or so are with LED light panels that I got for myself as something of a Christmas gift late last year. It doesn't make any difference to the photo, but they take up way less space, and are adjustable in brightness and easier to angle.

Are transfers required for this competition?? I left my transfer sheet at home over christmas and I won't get it back until next month earliest. My minis are finished apart from basing and transfer and I don't want to drop £20 for a brand new one when the one I have will cover my entire army twice over.

There is a very short list of “requirements”

At the worst, people might decide not to vote for you. But it’s not going to disqualify you.

Transfers? Who needs'em?

If you like them then by all means, but if not (or dont have them) no one is going to give it a second thought.

So I was hesitant about whether to enter this month, having bought something new at the GW birthday party in Nottingham.

Proof:

Ironically the bit I was most worried about was painting the base, but as you can see, that's gone rather well:

So time to break out the ambition and enter the competition!
