Oh good god, I may fail to Fulgrim for a second month.
Is there sure thing as a roll-over if your mini is in exactly the same state as day 3? >_<

I just lost most of January.

MG, cracking work. I thought Talys had posted, and he's my benchmark for nifty reds.

Is it just the cloak that is painted? If so, that is probably close enough to squeak through as basecoated a single colour (even though it is technically two)

this made me think of a Scooby Doo sketch with a villan chasing them all down a hall way or something, the guy with the hammer looks like he is scaring them away

Every day I learn something new! But I forget 2 things I knew yesterday

Well I mean he does fit the larger than average

Maybe I can make a stop motion video of that with Yakety Sax instead of five pictures.

Cloak fabric is shaded and a decal applied. I could always take a 5-10 day penalty.

Though I'm mostly asking out of curiosity, I have ideas for Feb.

Thanks MIdget Gems, guess I'm going to have to up my game on the rest of my Ultramarines though!

I really like some of the details on that terminator, the blood gems and claws in particular.

Thanks Jadenim, the Gems turned out better than I expected, I wanted them to shine so this was the first time I've used gloss (or any protective coating for that matter)

I tired to wet blend the claws but that was a massive failure since I couldn't get it to blend in two directions, along the blade and down the claw. So the claws are about a between 15 - 20 different layers of watered down slowly lighter blue.

Aw thanks, I did look at a lot of Talys work in my research on good BA models to take inspection from. I think I could have been bolder with the highlighting in some places but I had fun, tried a few new things and learned stuff so its all good

Lord rahl they look great, definitely need a better photo though, I'll post my "light box " tonight, it's about $0.05 in materials

Stormwall, that will go perfectly to next month's theme, please don't enter it though, I'd like a chance to get at least one vote and that will not help me at all

On the contrary, next month's theme is 'size matters not', and you are now honour bound to paint up that chunk of awesomeness for us all to stare at. You've posted the pic, we know you have it, so there's no going back now!

Low blow to those Sallies with the Horus joke there.

You guys are flattering me. It isn't that good of a mini.

Spoiler:
I added broke ribs, cracked plate, cables and a broke collarbone or plating by the neck.

I took some cruddy legs from an old project, chopped them up for this filthy word bearer scum.

I just need to add a small chain to the chaos mark and a large chain to the stag shield on the dread shoulder. Also he is missing a finger from my second house move this year.

Edit: Guess the images won't spoiler.

I am really digging some of these entries. I guess I am in for Feb.

I keep teasing myself to go for a painting marathon - paint till you drop kinda thing. 8hours straight is my daft number to beat thus far

I did that a whle ago. Thought to myself “When was the last time I pulled an all-nighter?” So I did one. I honestly don’t recall what I painted, it was over a decade ago.

A few years ago I needed to stay awake all night for a sleep deprived EKG. Got some work done then.

While painting marathons are good for quantity of work, I find they don’t do the best for quality. Good for building/basecoating lots of rank and file guys, but I’d save the detail work for when you are fresh.

Getting there slowly but surely. Working on it more tonight. For the 1st one I'll paint wholly myself and put on public display I'm actually quite happy with how it's going.
Spoiler:

Well done to everyone else so far. Some of the work is a true inspiration. It's this thread that's gave me the jolt i needed to actually learn how to do some painting even if it is quite basic and nowhere near the standard's of the other's so cheer's to you all.

Yeah, I did a 7pm-5am on 30 TTS Skitarii and then got up at 8 and did my own army once. It was good for speed, terrible for pride.
