Hello everybody!

Age of Tyrants, the 6mm sci-fi game will be hitting Kickstarter soon and it's going to be MASSIVE!

We're off to Beasts of War to do some filming, to tell you all about it; but we've also had a lot of coverage on Bell of Lost Souls... http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/01/interview-age-of-tyrants.html.

In addition to that, there is tonnes of content on the website here: http://www.ageoftyrants.com/

Now, there is an issue with 6mm sci-fi. Sure, there are a few games out there, but the elephant in the room is Epic 40k. Everyone expects that sort of game, so we wanted to mix things up and give you something different. Age of Tyrants is set apart by a focus on it's tanks. If you check out our gallery, you will see they are huge by comparison to other tanks. There are no giant stompy robots taking all the glory here. Massive bases of infantry also play a very important part.

We've got an amazing team working on the project, Mark Brendan and Jake Thornton have done amazing things with the rules, really focusing on the Command and Control aspects of the game, in addition to really slick rules to get combat sorted quickly. Skirmish gamers will feel quite at home, playing a mass battle game in the form of Age of Tyrants, without the usual plodding slow nature of other mass battle games.

Anyway, here's some pictures.

What do you all think?

Cheers!
Rob (wearing a slightly different hat...)

I like the big infantry bases, makes sense that a 6mm game should focus on larger elements than 5-man squads. Cool looking tanks, too.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Good luck Rob!

I like the infantry swarms in particular.

Shame about there being no big stompy robots though.

I hear you there - I really do like big stompy robots in 'epic' sized games.

And anime...

Big stompy robots increase the appeal of any game by an order of magnitude, imho.

Little stampy dudesmen are cool too, though.

Have been following this one for a while and great to hear that the KS is now so close!

Definitely think there is a big gap in the market for the small guys (!) in the sci-fi setting.

This is the first sure-fire KS of the year for me, great stuff.

My only request is some form of necrons style evil robot army.
You know, since GW never made them in epic and its a gold mine

Last company that had them closed its doors to focus on management instead.
So the market for them is empty at this point.

Not for long. Some of our Czech friends seem to be in the market for the troops soon.

Since this is set in the Void/Urban War/Metropolis universe I would imagine Giant Stompy Robots are coming.

That being said... the pedigree of this universe does not give me much faith. It's been attempted in 3 different games and gone through multiple companies and despite having some very cool minis never seemed to get traction.

I worry the Urban War/Metropolis/Void/Age of Tyrants brand (does this even have a proper name?) is too tainted at this point to succeed.

I think the universe is pretty evocative and in some ways suits the smaller scale, the clash of companies, better than at the platoon level.

Also think there's a gap for the 6mm sci-fi market. Yes GW are apparently doing some more Epic, but 10-1 it will be horrendously expensive, a quick cash-grab that will be poorly supported. And do they have the in-house skill set and experience to write a new, playable set of rules any more? It's not a sure-fire thing by any means.

If this release is planned well, has a solid ruleset and miniatures, definitely think there is a market for it.

There is another company that makes Necron-alikes. I don't want to derail this thread but look up ...

Ooh no, Steel Crown miniatures have gone apparently! What a shame, really liked some of their stuff.

Looking forwards to this as well - Rob, would it be possible for you to give us a little information on what sort of options we'll see pledge-wise?
