If you think the number of project we have can be summed up by a d6 roll, you are deranged!

The act of even constructing such a list would require legions of archeologist-scribes to unearth the depths of my workroom. Even when the countless rare treasures they dredge from the deeps are hit with the harsh light of the modern age, the work will just begin! What are these lost artifacts from time of yore? What name shall be entered on the ledgers?

Such an inventory is beyond the powers of man. To even contemplate such an undertaking is a dance with madness.

Same

Honestly, I think it would take me longer to inventory my models than it would to simply paint them. Or, worse, I would finally finish the accounting of the minis, and my Bones III kickstarter would come lol

@ kb_lock what's funny about your suggestion is that I do sometimes take a handful - only a handful mind you! - and roll a d20 lol

How about this.

Of all the outstanding projects you have, post them here and number them.

Someone else will roll D6 and post the result;

Okay, I'll bite.

I used the link you provided and got a 6 for you, kb. Guess that means you start with the Ork Nob.

3. Bloodletters of Khorne
4. Tau Piranha
5. Ezekiel
6. DV Ravenwing Bike Squad

My Baneblade. Once a proud machine who served the Emperor for maybe three battles before dying every time. Now stands dusty, broken, chipped, cannonless and with poor weathering. A nice camo job (Done by a friend who's awesome at tank camo) but overall a lame paint job on my part. It must be repainted/repaired and refurbished as a mighty Hellhammer!

Is it now unfinished: 1/1
Has it been waiting forever: 0/1 (Two years is probably peanuts compared to what other guys have )
Are you happy with it: 0/1

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
30k Ultramarines: 2000 pts
Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts
AOS Stormcast: Just starting.
The Empire : ~60-70 models.

Guess I'm doing yet more Tau stuff then. It may not be real soon, as this Stormsurge is taking a lot of effort right now, but I'll see what I can do!

I'll get some "faux-proof" pictures up later today, but the short hand version of what I need to just get done ("done" as in "no primer is showing!") with is:

40 Death Guard bolter marines
30 Death Guard Terminators
7 Death Guard Dreadnoughts

And sooo much more :(

I guess I'll jump on the D6 band wagon for what I'll take care of tonight:

1: 10 Marines
2: Last of My Auxillia (10 models + Baneblade highlights)
3: 5 Terminators
4: 15 Marines
5: 10 Terminators
6: 21 Thousand Sons Marines

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I had the camera out, and was down in my workroom. SO I snapped a quick pic of the back of my bench. The place things go to be forgotten. The exact things this thread is supposed to be about.
Not to be confused with this:

My “active” primed pile. Although there are some things that have been loitering there for a few years.

But these guys:

I know there is some primed stuff in the boxes in the background, but I’m ignoring them for now. If I run out of things to post for Flashback Friday, I might open up some of those boxes.

1 - Every year on my goals, I include “finishing off stuff I’m painting for a friend’s SoB army” He hasn’t played in a year or two, so there is no rush here. On the left you see some arcoflagelents and the kurganova sisters.
2 - Another of my annual goals is to paint all the spare bits I have. I do a lot of magnetizing, but often only the primary configuration gets paint. Also is that jumbled mess is some terrain bits from the 3rd ed starter box.
3 - There is a Sister if Sigmar I painted the face of as a demo for a friend. He normal does cars, and wanted to branch out into dioramas, needed a tutorial. She needs to be finished.
(The fire dragon was a color demo, needs to be striped and re-primed. He’s got friends in the active pile)
4 - Some skeletons lurking in the back. Been years since I played WHFB (stopped just a little into 6th ed) and I already have piles of the guys. Still, they wait with the patience of the dead.
5 - Chaos Marauders. Bought the box back in 6th, but put them together when I received the 8th ed rulebook as a gift. I’ve got more that I need to build with flails. And by that I mean take plastic flail heads and put them on old metal models that should have had them (but were stolen for another project)
6 - The little lady in front is a named character from a pathfinder adventure path (Council of Thieves) we finished a while ago. She belong to another friend and I should start her one of these days.

Once I finish my Lt. I’ll start one of these as my next background project. At least one of the minis for the squads/piles.

3: 4 Fenrisian Wolves
4: Rune Priest
5: 4 (?) Grey Hunters
6: Finish 4 Long Fangs

Some of us might need a D20 roll! D & D players might also have a D4 lying around for me .

I have an old school blood angel looking guy, 2nd ed, Dante? Tycho? idk,

Grand Theogenist Volkmar, old school one, no war-altar thingy.

Brettonian Man at Arms one of the classic metal ones.

That Dark Elf plastic Sorceress.

The first two are a couple of 99p ebay purchases, the third i've owned since '98 and the Dark Elf was for a compo back when that run of plastic WHFB characters came out.

not gonna bother listing, cuz I dunno if a d100 would work even but you inspired me, kb_lock, to go ahead and do a kinda inventory. Maybe I can keep a record of progress etc in my blog thing and see some actual reduction in boxes

I can’t technically call this guy done yet, as I need to wait till spring to prime and paint his backpack (which like an idiot I forgot to do). I’ll base him then as well. But he’s moving off the workbench for now, so that’s a win.

Someone chuck me a d6, I have a list in my last post.

Nevelon, you got a 5! Sounds like Marauders!

Also, yu can paint the backpack without priming (unless it's metal/resin) as long as you seal it afterwards... YMMV

OK, a few more axes for the horde then.

I don’t seal my minis. Bad habit, I know. I’m just careful with them. So I do need to wait to prime.

Is it plastic or metal? If it's plastic, just put down a coat of black to act as a basecoat, that should be enough (it's all I do on my own stuff). If metal, is it worth getting a brush-on primer? Depends on how much other stuff you'll want to prime before Spring, I guess.

It’s plastic, but I’m in no rush. I did have to go dig and find it though; it was hiding.

In other news, I just put down the first base layer of flesh tone on a marauder. Progress!
