This is exciting, even if the odds thing is a bit cheesy I can totally see my 12 year old self back in the day being extremely worried about the outcome, which is who they are playing into anyway.

I hope the Thousand Sons play a heavy roll in this thing! It would be cool to see them summoning demon waves to occupy the Grey Knights as they grudge match the wolves.

I'll consider it a "win" for our side if Tzen'char, Ahriman or some other named 1kSons character kills Grimnar, leaving young Ragnar to become the new Great Wolf...
At least that'll make 2 Chapter Masters and a Primarch we've taken from those rotten fleabags!

Maybe if we're really lucky, the new Thousand Models will even come with rules that make them playable for the first time in 10+ years too!

Heck, let the Thousand Sons lose the campaign if GW can manage that last thing.

I've absolutely no doubt that the Thousand Sons & Chaos in general will lose in the end... But I girl can dream that her favourite Legion might actually get playable rules, right?!

A pessimistic point of view:
Thousand Sons not only lose at the end but get completely wiped out which is the reason why they will not only get no new rules but also cut from the next CSM book (which will focus more on Standard Tzeentch CSM)

Its still the Spring. This Fall hasn't come yet.

Then it's my bad english (I translated "after this fall" as the fall of 2015, while the fall of 2016 I would have said "after next fall", is my translation wrong or is this just different saying)

Fall of 2015 would be last Fall, this Fall is the upcoming Fall or the current Fall (if it were already Fall).

Typically, "this" when referring to a time period is indicating the next one to occur. "Next" indicates the one after that (although this is ambiguous as some people use "next" instead of "this"). "Last" indicates the most recent one to have already occurred.

An example exchange:
"It’s Wednesday now so I’ll give you a ring next Friday."
"Wait, do you mean this coming Friday or the following one?"
"I mean this coming Friday. I’ll ring you this Friday. I’ll phone you on Friday."

English is... vague.

Personally I'm expecting that GW will take the easy & ultra lazy way out with the new 1ksons box, and just keep them with their current garbage fire rules.
Sadly, that also means it's unlikely we'll finally get some actual themed upgrades for them like a Heavy bolter with a blast type inferno ammo round, or sorcerous kai guns, etc...

At the very least, it's best to expect the worse. No point getting our hopes up, considering GW up to now has been more than happy to keep CSM's 2-3+ editions out of date.

Not only an English problem. It is the same for German with the little problem that in Austria "next" and "this" time period is a little bit different than in Germany.

This Monday would be yesterday here while it would be Monday next week in the northern region

Given GWs track record, if thousand sons are in fenris part 2, then the campaign would come out when the models are released since GW wont release new models without rules, or so I've heard on Bolter and Chainsword.

So it's just a matter of when. If you believe summer, then the release will probably be in the summer. I don't see GW releasing models then waiting several months to come out with the rules.

I think Thousand Sons already have rules. And a model with rules has a lot going for them.

Calling what the poor 1ksons currently have as "rules" is being rather generous.

Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is over! Starting today, and continuing until October, expect the continuation of the saga that started in Curse of the Wulfen, written by yours truly. The sequel novel will be serialised in eight ebook chapters, starting with The Lost King today. All eight will be collected into a full, physical novel at the end of the year. And best of all, the first chapter is free to download!

.. Russ' boys are in a tight spot though eh ?

The end of 1st part did indicate DA bombardment started. Would be kinda boring if that didn't amount to anything. Especially as it's not like Fenris getting bombed would mean Wolves would be out for good. Could give them interesting twist.

And wish there was less of the macro-chaos whining. Boring, off topic. Somebody forgot to turn off their macro that spams every thread with same boring "heard it 100000 times already" whining.

Exactly - don't give in the most damning of Tzeentch's principles: hope. In GW's eyes, the Rubricae don't have rules for those weapons now, so there's no reason to include them in the kit. Logic! Now, of course the catch-22 will be that when it comes time to write the new rules, they'll look at the kit and see the lack of options, thus not writing them in. More logic! And the cycle continues.

But that's okay: Warzone Fenris II: The Wolfening will include a new formation to bring a Rune Priest (who can take extra mastery levels and chose his disciplines like normal) with a squad of acolytes, who all magically have ap3 bolters because of "frost rounds", are relentless, and can equip heavy weapons. And we'll throw in the Brotherhood of Psykers rule to the squad while we're at it.

And they'll only be 18pts/model for the Acolytes, who will also come with a 5++ because of their 'Frost Aura' magically stopping enemy bullets.

Nah. It's so that SW/Imperial players in general can feel that much more amazing about their army because they "overcame all the odds" and won in the end... somehow.

Gotta keep stroking that massive Loyalist ego and remind the Mary Sues how they always win in the end.

People keep saying stuff like this, but I'm pretty sure we didn't collectively hallucinate GW blowing up an entire game system and setting not too long ago - we're not dealing with the same people who rolled back Storm of Chaos because it didn't generate the result they wanted, whoever's calling the shots at the studio right now might well just be crazed enough to pull the trigger on some mental storyline where Fenris blows up and the SW go renegade/all turn into Wulfen/retire and take up basketweaving. And hey, evidently some people like the idea of engaging with a fictional setting where the core character of their favoured faction could be radically changed at any moment on the whim of someone at GWHQ, or even just Squatted/Warhammered entirely, so I guess we'll see if GW continues playing Russian Roulette with the background in every new release and whether said group of people is big enough to sustain the company. But we're not in a place anymore where we can rule out what, to us, seem like completely irrational or disproportionate changes.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

All joking aside, it would be pretty awesome if Part II brings an all-new Lang Fangs kit that includes Helfrost Cannons in lieu of Grav Cannons w/amp for SW players.

The basic Puppy frame is pretty 'meh' overall for building 'grizzled & centuries old, long-toothed veterans', (not enough bald heads & long beards imho!), and Frost cannons would be a nice touch in keeping SW's vastly different from basic 'codex' Chapters.

Add in the missing Great Company formations, plus update the Dreadnought profile, and then finish the campaign off with an 'all-in-one' updated codex and SW's are good to go.

Actualy, The annihilation of Fenris would whipe out the Space Wolves, With a bit of time. As Space Wovles Geneseed only works with people from the planet Fenris (Thats why Space Wolves have no successors and why the only successor they had failed.)

How do you explain the thousands of Space Wolves that existed before the Imperium found Fenris?

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

That doesn't sound any more wiped out than a chaos legion. It would just give the chapter a tragic "no hope of surviving" vibe that lets them do even crazier things.

Don't the space wolves also have way more marines than other chapters?

They are larger, but not by an order of magnitude. They would be legion strength if it wasn't for their recruiting world's small population and their stubborn refusal to wear helmets.
