Subject: 3D Printable medieval / fantasy scenery campaign by PrintableScenery - Steampunk Outpost unlocked
PrintableScenery.com have just launched an Indiegogo expansion campaign for their Winterdale range of printable 28mm (scalable) medieval / fantasy scenery range.
PrinableScenery.com's original kickstarter campaign succesfully completed on January 7th raising just over NZ$40,000. The new campaign being run this time on Indiegogo (see above for link) expands the range with 10 planned new buildings and additions to the existing range and includes things like a 'Dock and accessories', a graveyard, a chapel, a Merchant's house and stall, as well as some rather nifty particularly steampunk buildings such as an observatory and a steampunk outpost.
Three levels of the original designs from the Kickstarter campaign form the main perk levels in the Indiegogo campaign with the highest perk level being US$75 for the main perk level plus any of the stretch goal rewards being reached, whilst the lowest perk level (The Hamlet) is just is just US$15. Backers of the original Kickstarter Winterdale campaign can chose to just go with the stretch goals as a US$40 perk.
The stretch goals are:
$3,000 Docks and accessories
$6,000 Steampunk Outpost
$9,000 Graveyard
$12,000 Observatory
$15,000 Turret cupola
$19,000 Castle hoarding system
$22,000 Chapel
$26,000 Merchant House and Market stalls
$30,000 Gate and Drawbridge
$35,000 Barbican
Hopefully if this gets the backing it deserves it is hoped that PrintableScenery.com will add more to the list either as additional stretch goals or perhaps add ons.

as for the first Ks it is STL 3d file to 3d Print scenery
in my opinion the design and finish is almost "tabletopworld" quality level
all building are scalable
this time they propose the content of the first KS
the main building:
15 usd THE HAMLET:This is a modular cottage collection. 14 Individually sculpted modular pieces that can be arranged to create a variety of multi level buildings and bridges. Delivered in downloadable .stl file format for your 3D printer so you can print and scale the pieces how you like..
45 usd THE TOWER: Everything in the previous perk (The Hamlet) and consists of 5 modular tower building pieces and 3 gnarly trees delivered in downloadable .stl file format for your 3D printer.
THE CITADEL Everything from the previous perks (The Hamlet and the Tower) and also consists of 12 modular castle building pieces. Delivered in downloadable .stl file format for your 3D printer. This level qualifies for Turret Cupola, Gate, Castle Hording and Barbican Stretch Goals
THE CASTLE: Everything from the ALL previous perks (The Hamlet and the Tower and the Citadel) and also consists of castle wall extension gatehouse and drawbridge. Deliverd as an STL file pack to be printed on a home 3d Printer. This level qualifies for ALL the Stretch Goals
all this stuff already allow us to build a famidable citadelle with a complete wall , lots of different building ans a full castle
but they also propose lots of sterch goal that are available separtly for the previous winterdale KS pledger
Stretch Goals ...
The basic 'perk' levels represent amazing value in themselves but with the addition of the extra models available by the unlocking of the stretch goals for each perk level you'll be getting an unbelievable amount of models for your perk.
it will run for 21 days and they are allready financed at more than 50 %
if you have acces to a 3d printer it s a really good deal
and if not maybe it s the opportunity to get one ;-)

I think 3D Printing will become a bit part of our hobby. There's something satisfying about scaling and printing you model and then assembling and painting. It kind of feels like you made it from raw plastic... which is true.

Also the remaining stretch goal rewards have been re-arranged as follows:
$3,000 Steampunk Outpost
$6,000 Castle Hording System
$9,500 The Observatory
$12,000 Turret Cupola
$15,000 Merchant and Market stalls
$18,000 Chapel
$20,000 Graveyard
$23,000 Gate and Drawbridge
$26,000 Barbican
The second stretch goal (the Steampunk Outpost) is just $429 away from being unlocked.
3D printing is going to become an ever increasing part of tabletop wargaming and RPGaming.
If you have a 3D printer or are considering getting one or indeed know someone you could sweet talk into printing these models this is a great crowdfunding project to back IMO.

Good question.
I will this evening run through the print set ups and costings on my computer and list the filament weights required and the costs involved for some of the models on my Cel Robox printers (not the cheapest I know but definitely my preference). I will try and list for 28mm, 15mm and 10mm, would this help? Also what resolution would you like listed, 100 microns and 200 microns?
Also great news about the 3 additional free houses.

To be honest, I'm woefully ignorant of 3D printing, and dont own one myself. I know you can take them places and have it printed, but not enough to know if its actually cheaper than buying a finished product from, say, Tabletopworld. Which to me represents some of the finest terrain out there, and these designs look right up there. Even if I cant use them, I'm tempted to back at a small level to show support for the artistic endeavor.

In the previous campaign, I tried the broken stone wall models on Shapeways, and it came out to $100 for 1 of each wall piece. I think the only way to really make it affordable is to have your own printer or a buddy with one that will let you use it
the 3D models look great though, I'm saving them till I get a printer of my own

These things all look great but I'm in the camp of not having a 3d printer as well.
What types of printers are being used to get the results from the different people in this thread? I'm seeing some nice looking things printed but I can't really afford a $3k printer at the moment.
I`ve recently ordered a Micro3d Printer mainly for doing game tokens and bits.
Just noticed your thread here and was wondering if these are all printed as one piece sections?..or are they done in smaller pieces then assembled into sections..
Would very much like to jump into the KS but not sure if the Micro3d will be able to do these in 28mm.

it should work perfectly as all the file are prepared to be printed with a min build area is 100mmX100mmX100mm and the micro3d is 109mm x 113mm X116 mm
you should manage to get the same result as i showed in the previous picture
but you should hurry because the campaign end in less than 24 hours

They own the rights to the 3d files. I'm not an attorney but I would say after you legally purchase those files, whatever you do with the items created is out of their hands. That's just my thought..

Good looking out.
I'm curious as to whether or not that restriction was reviewed by a copyright lawyer.
