Downloaded the game again on steam. Got the content but can't bring myself to play. I just don't care enough anymore. Dunno why I went through so much effort and failed to care to give it a shot. I just hear people claiming how OP he is. Can't say I'm surprised given the tau commander.

Just unlocked the void reaper.....ho-lee-emprah that thing is powerful. Right now we're getting owned on level 15 where we fight against ourselves. till then its gravy.

Also love the nanoscarabs that repair your armor. And the tesseract labyrinth is great to stall a horde from surrounding you.

Wait until you unlock the Glypth of the Reclaimer. AoE damage (large AoE!), while granting MASSIVE HP regen for each enemy affected by the AoE. same initial cost as the nanos, slightly faster drain, but way stronger.

but you're immobile and can't attack...

Attacking doesn't matter, as you can kill most light infantry in just a few seconds. Its actually faster than the voidreaper when fighting hoards.

I'll second that the Glyph of the Reclaimer is good. Sure it doesn't look as good as going down a line of one shotting each enemy, but it gets the job done quicker.

I dunno, killing off the million banshees or guardsmen at the same time looks pretty good too imo.

Is it me, or is the res orb useless? It takes so long to activate, and for some idiotic reason the game still ends if all three heroes die, even if one of them comes back.

I wouldn't say it's useless, but I definitely thought Tesseract Tomb was still a better ability.

Wouldn't say it's useless, just vastly underwhelming compared to tomb. Tomb can single handily win wave 16/20 on BC by preventing any retaliation (or at least make it MUCH easier). Nightbringer and Resorb are about the same level of usefulness (assuming you base your ENTIRE build around nightbringer. Without basing your entire build around, nightbringer is worse imo than resorb).

Finally got to sink some time into this guy and wow...he is embarrassingly strong. At level 8 I'm basically walking through every wave until...18? Only trouble I had was with the melee dreads spamming their stun ability (apparently the only thing I'm not immune to).

I can't wait to unlock more of his gear though; the voidreaper is just plain unfair.

yeah I feel like the voidreaper should be a late level up reward rather than early....because after getting it the ones that unlock after are underwhelming

Anyway, I still think scarabs are better than the reclaimer drain life thingy because I tried it once and while it does manage to kill most swarms around you, doing so takes about 6-7 seconds and that drains your energy bar pretty much completely while your life fills up within the first 3 seconds, so really you are wasting energy on killing hordes and that energy then isnt there for you to refill your health meter when you really need it because energy takes a while to recharge; with the Necron lord I am always low on energy and the items that give me more energy take up a slot that would otherwise be vital for other really cool stuff

On the other hand, having the scarabs on and kicking ass in melee might take longer to slice through a horde, but you're pretty much indestructible for something like 15 seconds and you can focus on offing the big guys with your void reaper while the scarabs are active and can then deal with the horde

The thing is, it GotR doesn't take that long to kill hordes, and makes you more or less immortal as long 2-3+ enemies are around you. And honestly, as long as you manage your energy, you shouldn't ever have it fully drained unless there's a REALLY large horde (like wave 19 of AoK) Scarabs are good (esp with the energy regen wargear item (not the weapon) you can maintain it forever (you get ~1 energy back every 3-4 seconds I think), but it has a set limit of the HP regen compared to reclaimer where hordes can out damage it if you don't have someone killing them faster than one guy at a time.

I'd say so far the only real contender against the Void Reaper was the Doomsday Edge achievement CC weapon. It does a good deal of damage and it has an AoE attack that clears out hordes that the void reaper has issues dealing with given our lack of splash damage. It stuns/knocks them back too so I can actually click the damn character icon to ress my allies when they're being swarmed over by minions.

I just realized why taking the regen scarabs and hamsterball is a bad idea: your clone gets it too in the bloodied colosseum at lvl 16 and 20.

Better to take glyph of the reclaimer, and the initial cc-weapon that lets you draw a green wall that damages hordes and also gives you +1 energy regen to make glyph last longer. You still have armorbane and immune to knockback, but can be suppressed which sucks, but you got that wall that can target the thing suppressing you (like a shuriken cannon) so you can recover from that

That's definately the safer route, most of the time I prefer just to spam Terresct Tomb personally, normally we can catch all the clones at the same time, meaning everyone can close in (and cast another tomb to keep them stun locked) then beat them down fairly quickly
