I received my Book 6 retribution bundle, but the crusade army list book that is bundled with Book 6 is the original red book. Any idea when the new one will be released? The Leviathan rules got added into Book 6, but there are no Deredeo rules anywhere to be found. Where do those show up?

the deredeo should be in there, I though. either way it's probably a month or two out.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Forgeworld still has the experimental rules for the Doredeo on their website, I believe they only do that if they don't have published rules yet.

I'm also waiting for the Red Book(s) to drop for my next FW order.

Likewise. Got book 6 for my DA rules, now just need the updated Red Book. And then whenever they come out with another $100 book so I can get rules for the other half of my army...

I'm trying to see if I can return the redbook I received and get credit towards the new one.

Let us know how that turns out. Maybe I'll get the Mymerea book replaced that way as well then.

There are two red books -- the CAL, and the Legions book.

The Legions book update is the one previewed at the HH Weekender that we'll probably get in a few weeks.

The CAL book update is reportedly done, but only just got sent to the printers and is probably a few months away.

I was just a little bummed since I felt that FW wasn't too clear that the crusade list that was bundled with Book 6 was the original and not the updated book. Had I read the item description more closely, I would have ordered book 6 by itself and not the bundle.

I am also waiting for the new red books before deciding on whether to take the jump into HH....

I just hope they fix the poorer units in the red book, like Assault Marines and some of the poorer special units.

I've got 20 Assault Marines collecting dust that couldn't agree with you more.

POints are supposedly dropping for assault marines. 20 sitting there in my box for the same reason. I love the idea and play 30k for fluff, but cant justify 1/4 of my army for a single unit of joe marines with jump packs, too many other fun toys to include.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Are the Red Books the only ones subject to "updates"?

I don't understand the layout of the Black and Red books. Do the Black Books contain background stuff and the red books contain the army lists? I'd like to look into Book 1 for 30k World Eaters but keep wondering about spending the money on an "older" book.

For those asking about it. The Deredo Dreadnought rules are printed in book 5 Tempest. Along with the Xyphon, Stormbird, and some other things.

The black books contain backstory, detailed history of the legions, campaign rules, scenarios. Unit listings for legions profiled in each black book are also provided.

The red books are straight army lists.

Yeah, even forgeworld isn't silly enough to think that players would buy multiple rule books just to get the units. The red books are pure crunch with no fluff apart from a little blurb for each unit.

Except DA, BA, and WS players will have to do just that.

We got Rights of War, and some wargear in Book 6, but no special units or characters, so in the end we'll have to buy 3 books just to play our full army.

I suppose...... At least you have 40k armies :p

I would have figured they'd toss them in. ... Ah well.

no you wont. I new legion book should contain all of those. pair that with the red book and BOOM you're good to go. now all you gotta to is buy the updated red book(s) when the next book releases (well, probably not the next, since that will (supposedly) be TS, SW, custodes, and sisters of silence)
