Hello everyone,

I wanted to let anyone interested know we have our first Abandoned Frontier product available in our little web store. The Haraki War Golum is a infantry support war engine equipped with rail gun and missile launchers. This is a plastic kit standing around 70mm+ tall making a great stand in for other product lines. For more pictures including size comparison pan to the bottom of the page entry for the kit. For some reason I can't seem to upload them here

Cheers

It looks neat, from what I can see of it.

Can I suggest getting some better photographs of your products?

Nice to see! Still haven't painted my Krieg dwarves from this set, but the quality is great.

Hi Mr. Burning,

Yeah that's been our drawback so far. We are working on it thought. Plus a painted version of some of our products.

Yeah, it's a big drawback if you intend to have solid sales. I mean this as feedback not as an insult or anything but I am personally not in the habit of buying things I cannot see clearly. If you're getting your products painted, please invest in a professional painter. Look at Antenociti and Anvil Industries.. Great products for sure but they showcase that with fantastic paintjobs. If you don't, a bad or even just mediocre paint job can turn people off to your products just as easily. Non-battle report style photos are also a good idea. There are tons of articles about photographing miniatures.
Presentation is a massive part of selling anything. If you don't take it seriously, don't expect your customers to take you seriously.

Okay.. I know all of that sounded a bit harsh. That said, what I can see looks interesting. Interesting enough that I really hope you take my advice because I want to see what those things are!

What kind of plastic is it? If there are sprues, can we get some pictures of them?

Also, please post a link.

Hi Mlaw,

I totally agree. I am nearly a one man op most of the time so it's hard and costly in many cases but it's definitely being worked on.

Below is a link to our web store. Also free shipping everywhere!

Oh I almost forgot they are not on sprues when we get them from our caster they come in pieces in a bag.

Quick Question..
Are all of your products 28mm? Some look like they might be 15mm. I play both scales and thought I would ask..

I actually like the walker as an addition to a 15mm force.. I think. A scale pic next to a 28mm figure would be amazingly helpful.

(EDIT: I believe some of the Gruntling 15mm line ended up in the wrong section in your store)

So, does that mean that they are restic? Some kind of PVC? Help me out here, please. Also, what can I expect shipping to cost?

As for the link, I already googled your product and company. Restating it is not the same thing as a link. You will get far more customers looking at your product if they only have to click once to get there. Use the code

The more info you give us here, the fewer barriers customers will have when they go to your site.

I've edited the link in the OP to this one, since it was hard to find the golem otherwise (clicking on the first pic of it gives a larger picture, but doesn't take you to its page - you have to click on the pic at the bottom of the main page to get there). Here it is as well:
http://www.cactusgamesminis.com/store/p12/Abandoned_Frontier_Haraki_War_Golum_.html

It would be awesome if you could edit the golem product page so that when images are clicked on you can view them full size - I would love to see a bigger picture of this size comparison!

Right now if you hover over it it gives you a zoomed in view, but because the window is so small you can't see the full model that way. I'd love to see more, because this looks totally sweet and the price is incredible!

I'm sorry guys my site is very low end and I'm still learning on the fly as I haven't had a pro site created let. The piece is not restic (GW) it is a type of resin but I can assure they are not nearly as fragile as GW/forge world, the miniature is a little over 70mm tall. Restic as I have some pieces from them and are very brittle :( shipping is free thru out the states, Europe, Canada and Australia!

Again sorry for any problems with the site.

Don't sweat it! From what I see, everyone is trying to help

As a suggestion.. there's some free and/or cheap websites that come from templates. Usually the free ones just require that you leave a graphic advertising where they come from.
It's a easy way to get a very pro looking site with interaction. You just have to put in your contents for pictures and stuff. I used to use one for my art. It was alright for that but I needed higher resolution than you would for an online store so I ended up going to Deviantart for posting art. For a photo of your products though they should be perfectly fine. A lot of them also offer pre-made stores. If you go that route, make sure you research the ones you're interested in before using their stuff. Google them at the very least. A lot of stores are using zencart.. not sure if that's helpful or not.

Would be great to see a bigger size comparison pic. I can't believe you offer free shipping to EU/Canada/Aus from the US, that's awesome

A thought on the photos:

See if you can find a local photographers club and head down there one evening; might be that you find a few locals willing to do a bit of simple clear photography for you for a meal and a beer or otherwise a simple exchange.

Good clear photos will sell models; I think also when presenting as a business its good to have a formal clear and quality showing of produce and website and all - it installs a lot more consumer confidence.

As an aside free UK shipping is interesting but sounds like it could be a huge profit eater for yo u

I just received one of these walkers, and I was impressed enough to that I wanted to post about it. Here is a picture of the unassembled, uncleared model. There is almost no flash except for a strut between the arm and the gun, as well as a couple translucent flakes near the tabs. The material looks and feels exactly like the resin Paulson uses for Mecha Front, and the casting quality is likewise high.

One of the things that really got my attention is how easy it was to fit the parts together. The shoulder tabs have little keys on them that fit into notches in the arm sockets, lining up the arms properly on the first try. Considering the absolute pain I've had lining up restic minis with two separate arms holding one weapon, I really appreciate this. Converters can just shave off the tabs, although they would have a harder time with the hands since they are molded into the gun.

Hi guys and very sorry for the confusion on the site. We have for now moved over to our sister site. It's called "trenchwargames" one word and can be found by typing it in under this monicker. Once we finish our main site restructuring we will be back up on there permenantly. You can still order the war Golum with free shipping on the above site and should hav more proper painted pics soon.

Regards
