Maybe GW will throw in a bonus for 30 years of power armour, , "how the sisters wear power armour without massive augmentation and genetic engineering".....

I think they just get a different kind of "massive augmentation" that helps hold the power armor up.

Probably a fairly generic looking captain, might look like an artwork cover if you squint hard enough. Really not worth missing out on Salute for.

This is a larger GW store were i got that info from.

Am I missing a part to the equation? Wasn't this supposed to be some mark the date because we have never done this before big type of event? An its a limited edition mini??

They are doing in-store events this day also, when i was told about the number of mini's the store was getting he had confirmed they will atleast be haveing a painting contest were people paint a pre-assembled and base coated snap-fir marine in under a hour.

This was one of the events said GW store dose on it's birthday alonge with others. I know on that GW store's birthday last year they also had a bunch of bits set out for a conversion contest also. But not sure if they will be doing that agien. (people abusing it and ect.)

As far as I understand this is GW stores only, this isn't for FLGS.

Just found in white dwarf issue 112, that they'll be making an announcement in white dwarf 115, on sale on April 9th. This will include "big news and a very special feature"

Back on topic, this event is being publicised with pictures of Space Marines. I think wishing for a Sororitas, Inquisitor or anything in power armour that isn't a Space Marine is about as likely as it being a model of Master Chief in Spartan armour.

It's important to note that It's 30 years of Space Marines. 40K itself isn't 30 years old yet. They're talking about these guys, who debuted in 1986.

Rogue Trader didn't come out until October of 1987. So hoping for anything that isn't a Space Marine is pretty unrealistic, lol.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

So they can pressure sell the crap out of it like they used to with Games Day minis. "Buy 4 - they'll be worth a fortune on eBay! I've already claimed 15 of them for later" and so on.

Well I've seen the model. I'm not overly fussed about it. It's nice, but nothing really special.

Awesome that it is a Crimson Fist (or at least they are billing it as such). Glad the limited Captains are coming back. Hopefully they will be available online as I will not be able to make it to GW next month. I am going to try to work something out with the manager though.

I think you may have misunderstood me, the two captains aren't being re-released, I meant I have both but still haven't even opened them, so I will pass on this one as it'll just join them. Apologies if I got your hopes up!

@warhams I think it's "marine advancing".

I can confirm that it will be an updated version of the LE2 Space Marine from Bob Naismith.

The new one looks good, keeps all of its traits like pose, armour type and most of its other details. They also kept the RT style alien Space Marine weapon design and the ellbow- and kneepads of the original.

A pretty cool model, but... I now want a proper 5 or 10-men plastic kit

But will it have the same cool rifle?

I was bummed when they changed the 25th anniversary guy to a basic plasma pistol instead of the energy fist thing from the artwork.

Yes, a lot like the original gun.

It is very very different to today's Marine weaponry except for the barrels at the front (looks like a combi-melta) and it now has a scope on top.

The weapon is as huge, alien and as weird as the original one.

Neat. I kind of like it. It doesn't have quite that weird alien look to it that the original had, but it looks good.

What is the weapon he is holding supposed to be? It looks almost like a Combi-Melta. Here's hoping he gets an exclusive data sheet with some sort of archeotech weapon. Let him be used in place of a Tactical Squad Sergeant.
