Have a small tourney this weekend in Columbus Ohio. Wanted to see what people thought of my list.

So what should I be worried about? I start with Piranha's and Riptides on the board. Drop my drones off and try and kill armor with the piranha's Fusion and Seeker missiles. Turn two after I get a lay of the land I use the dawn blade to pick the unit that must die. Retaliation comes in from deep strike reserves (do not have to roll) and drop my tide and broadside on objectives and my Suit star down where I can Twin Link hits, reroll wounds on the the unit I have declared, ignores cover and Monster or Tank hunter .... My commander with Armor soaks up wounds initially. I move my Riptides up first turn so that I can NOT move second turn and Ripple fire and Hail-fire that turn.. giving me double Ion shots and 4 twin linked fusion shots each!

Tourney has ITC rules so no craptastic Piranha powers!! I usually drop the drones off to block anything coming at me too fast or to make more room to keep away deep strikers.

Farsight Enclave forces can only take special issue wargear from the Farsight Enclaves list. This means you cannot take the Command and Control Node, the Multi-Spectrum Sensor Suite, Iridium Armor, or the Puretide Engram Neurochip.

See page 196 of Warzone Damocles: Mont'ka.

ACTUALLY with the rerelease of Farsight Enclaves book.. they added all the Codex Tau equipment in as well. Even updated on Army builder!

drop the air burst crisis suits, split the fusion suits into two solo units.

add more members to the broadsides, deepstriking relentless broadsides are the best part of retaliation cadre

FSE has the drone net it is really good way to marker light

Do broadsides have relentless?

I am using the Air bursting suits to kill troops. Large Pie Plates ... 4 of them... and all 5-6 rolls to wounds go to wherever I want... lots of hits

This offsets Horde armies some.

I tried the Pathfinder\Broadside Cadre. It works, just have to make sure you have a use for all those Marklights.....

And why do I need more Mark Lights? My blob of suits is rerolling everything.... most things are twin linked.... important things I am identifying and killing with my large suit star.....

To use the drone formation I have to give up something.....

Ok first... put SMS on your riptide wing.. fusion is nearly useless in that formation since you can't move that turn; Ripple fire sms to get 48 shots during your double shooting turn.

Secondly, If you are running a star.. commit to it more IMO.

2x1 solo dual fusion
1x7 Crisis
- 4 dual plasma
- 3 dual fusion, TLs

having markerlights in that star is worthless.. as what the unit is shooting at.. the plasma suits would hopefully have destroyed.. so I would drop all those or replace with shield/gun drones instead.

^ that said.. you really need markerlights for your riptide wing.. but your so tight on points running the star and the formations.. unsure how to solve that.

Third... I personally would save the points and not run fusion blasters on the pirahna.. you want them sticking to safety, launching missiles and drones turn 1.. then disappearing then repeat turn 3... now depending on mission this is where you start moving them around to objectives or bouncing out until turn 5 again.. That is how i have played and seen them played effectively.

Fourth... and this i need to double check the rules.. but i thought precision shots.. was you allocate the "hits" to a model not "wounds" ... so that makes them useless with blasts.

Fifth...My core Retaliation i stick a commander with 3 deepstriking misslesides with plasma. You have more range so you can deploy more conservatively and with tank/MC hunter you can still wreck the field with missiles.


Anyway.. hope that gives you something to think about.
