It’s back! The Bay Area Open is the event that started everything for Frontline Gaming, and we’re pleased to announce the 6th year of this premiere 40k tournament! We’re pleased to announce a partnership with Game Kastle, and will be hosting the tournament in their new event center, located at 550 Showers Dr, Mountain View, CA 94040.

This venue has been built for large tournaments and due to the size, we will have room for 200 players, this year! This will be the largest BAO to date and qualifies as a large Major Event for the ITC, and will be generating a ton of points for those who attend! Make sure to grab your tickets early, as the event sold out in 2 weeks last year with a 30 person wait list. You can purchase those tickets, here. We look forward to hosting you for the biggest and best BAO to date. Oh, and as a nice bonus, as we were able to work out a good deal this year on the venue and were able to save a significant amount of money and are passing those savings on to you! So in addition to being the biggest BAO it will also be the most affordable as well. Winning!

What: A Warhammer 40k Tournament

When: July 16th and 17th

Where: Game Kastle: Mountain View, 550 Showers Dr., Mountain View, California 94040

Why: Because 40k tournaments are awesome!

We can’t wait to see who puts their name on the coveted Belt of Russ this year! Alan “P.J. Pants” Bajramovic was the champ last year, with the likes of InControl, Steve Sisk, Tomb King, JY2 and many other top notch players all in the hunt for the win! This year promises to provide more of the same exciting 40k action!

Schedule:
This will be a 6 round event, 3 rounds on Saturday and 3 rounds on Sunday.
Registration will begin at 8am on Saturday morning.
Round 1 will begin at 10am.
Day 1 will conclude at 7:30pm.
Day 2, Round 4 will begin at 9am.
Day 2 will conclude at 6:30pm, Sunday evening.
Travel and Logistics:
Their are a ton of hotels near the event venue in every price range. Just Google “Hotels Mountain View California” and you’ll see the wide variety of options nearby.

For those of you flying in, the San Jose Airport is only 12 miles away and the San Francisco Airport and Oakland Airport are also close options, as well.

*Ticket Refund Policy: All tickets are fully refundable up until 30 days from the event, June 16th, 2016. After June 17th, 2016 all sales are final and refunds for ticket will not be issued. Tickets are transferable up until the day before the event, July 15th, 2016.

Also, any information on the venue and the surrounding area would be much appreciated. Is it a nice area? Any nice hotels around? What is the venue like?

It is the new Game Kastle Mountain View Event Center, yes! And it is a nice area.

We have time for 6 rounds as well, so that will be awesome.

Going to be a blast! Be sure to grab those tickets soon, though, we're almost 50% sold out after just a day, it's been crazy to see the tickets move so fast.

Dude, I am aware the internet/google exists. I used the address provided and got... ...Which did not lead to the information you got. It appears the info about Came Kastle was added after I bought my ticket by a sneaky ninja.

None the less, it seems wise asking for inside information from the people who might know the area better as Google Maps has a tendency to tell me Jamba Juice is on the right when in reality it ends up being a block down on the left.

There are a ton of places nearby, Mortetvie. It is a really nice part of the Bay Area.

I am hoping for the Round 1 challenge mechanism to be implemented this time around. And like Ash says, "I chose you!"

Casey starts kicking ass with Eldar and he's ready to call out the big dogs, I like it!

The app should be done long before that point and at that stage, altering round one pairings for call out matches should be no problem. I will double check with the developers just in case, but that should be an easy and fun implementation.

Indeed, I am aware of your chain yanking-ness =). At first I was wondering if they rented out an empty building or maybe space in that Jo-ann craft store... Because nothing says Grimdark like knitting needles of doom and cosmic crotcheting!

Hey guys, already over 100 paid attendees in just 2.5 days! Wow, don't wait on getting yours it looks like it may sell out in a week!

Only non competitive these days but going to have fun anyway just snagged a ticket! Going to aim to play fast games with mostly fast units non- Fate weaver to see how I hold up. I've been more into painting lately due to over crowding at the local shop.

Over 128 tickets sold in a week, wow! That's a new record, do not wait to get those tickets.

Is the BAO going to incorporate any non-40k events this year? I know the new location will impact what you can offer, so I'm guessing not, but I thought I'd ask.

Not this year, unfortunately. The venue can actually handle more than 200 players, but as they're still building all the terrain and supplies they need to host that many players, we decided to be a bit conservative this year and focus only on 40k.

In years to come, assuming this venue works out (which we believe it will), we'd be happy to expand.

I suspected as much. The new venue is awesome and in a great location, so I'm hyped to attend any big events there that I can. Best of luck with it this year!

Also, Im already agonizing over what to bring. im so behind on my models im on a purchasing moritorium. I know im not gonna get near prizes, bu I want to follow to painting rules.

I do love them. And I got a brutal tau list, But I love my battle company. even got some janky rhinos, fixed them up. and I need a command squad with all meltas. lol.
