The Relic eh.....cool enough. That's sooooo open to interpretation for just about any system.....well, maybe not Guildball, which I thinking about doing this month!!! Relic will work grand for just about anything admechy considering everything they have/use/are is considered a holy relic!

I went for Relic too, I have a cunning plan and hopefully awesome idea for it.

Would be happy with the others as well tho, sure I could cobble something together from my seemingly endless bits and pieces.

Hey Paradigm! Should Big Guns Never Tire not win, I have a Deff Dread with 4 power klaws that's Dead Killy for The Relic. Would that work?

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

Ok, I'll be gutted not to paint what I had planned, but if it don't fit the theme the big guy will have to wait.

Should Relic win, can I get a decision on Anrakyr the Traveller from everyone? I quote:
"To many Necron nobles he is considered the highest avatar of nobility, a warrior who has yielded all ties of personal rank and status for the benefit of his people. To others, notably those who do not willingly contribute to his forces, Anrakyr is the worst kind of masterless brigand, almost as severe a threat to the slumbering Tomb Worlds as any of the galaxy’s other perils"

He's the only other mini I want to paint right now that would fit the theme. I leave it up to you all

To be honest, I'm not seeing the relevance at first glance, but if you have suitable fluff/paintwork/conversion that justifies it (maybe it's seen as an idol of Gork or Mork ect) then go for it.

Here's my fluff:
The deff dread single-handedly slayed the Hive Tyrant of Hive Fleet Whupass to save the orks of Boss Fart's command. For this reason, the orks respect it as if it were powered by Gork and Mork itself.

Maybe you could give it a bunch of totem poles an extra glyphs, paint a lot of kill ytallys on it. Kind of an Ork version of what marines do with icons, purity seals and scoll work to denote that they venerate somethin.

Could be the Deff Dred that went the longest without falling apart

Well for the relic I can do my 30k jump pack chaplain or for big guns I can do my contemptor. So either of the top two work for me.

OK so if Guns doesn't win out I can still justify using the same model(s?) I was planning before, since they're named after the angel of Death and are in very old style armor (relics you might say...).

I went with the Relic because I thought it had more room for interpretation with what models I have available. I suppose I could do a chaplain for my Luna Wolves but not sure (I haven't got any of the books, I don't know if they even had those or anything like that)

I like the idea of Big Guns too but not sure I have anything that'd fit.

An Archmagos should fit this theme, after all he IS the biggest, baddest future nerd in the army

just to confirm. for april we are doing the relic? polls over? I dont remember what I voted for but can come up with something for it..

The Relic: The model must be one that is in some way considered holy or revered by its allies. For example, this could be a D&D Cleric, a Chaos Spring Champion, a Space Marine Chaplain, a Nomad Reverend ect.

would a Balthsar, Dark Angel company 5 master work?
He Is venerated by the Empire enough to have the color of Gold named after him. which means he has been alive fighting with a plasma pistol for at least ten thousand years.. as it was still balthasar gold back in the HH time frame of the legions, before chapters.

Company masters are relics for sure, but how do you know he wasn't named after the gold?

simple.
I trust in his ability to not get his pistol hot.. controlled bursts, good sound tactical decision-making ability against the hordes, not to mention faith in both the teachings of The Lion, and the faith he has for the Emperor, having the pleasure to serve under his command back in the first legion. simply faith that he Has survived this long to help hunt the legions that turned against mankind to side witb chaos...

not to mention itvmakes a better story. )
