The axe arm isnt pinned as the joint is pretty decent to just superglued it. The servo skull is pinned into the backpack. 0.8 drill bit for the hole and thin wire for the connection. The servo arms are(will be pinned) 0.8 drill bit again and my usual paperclip pins. Glue in a long length of clip and then clip to the right length. drilling the holes for the servo arms was a touch tricky and needed to be done slowly

Alright due to time constraints I am making an audible and instead entering my chaos knight instead. Because these things are revered as god machines and what not.

lol. great work there Ustrello. Minor bitsy - the line highlights on the blue panels of the pauldron might do with a wee tidy and thinning. Overall though he is looking fantastic

(Sounding like Gimli the Dwarf) "YES!!!!"

Good attitude. Love it. Januine still hoping you deliver your big guy.

No progress my end as travelling but will deliver on due date!

Para all ideas suggested look good. I have squads needing painting, and vehicles, my preference is something I could play on the board rather than diorama type piece but having said that enjoying these challenges so much ill get with wjhatever program.

today or tomorrow I should have the next big update on my Stormhammer: all the gold, metal, and wiring should be painted! Woo!

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Final entry for the month:

Needed to be more careful about stuff getting into the varnish on the cape, and looking at it, really should have brought the skin red up a bit more, and put the gradient parallel with the blades, rather than across it like I did, but eh, hindsight. Do more next model.

Just wanted to give a mention to another competition running on Dakka this month and next, Gitsplitta's 'Mantis Maker' competition. The premise is simple; build and paint a Mantis Warrior Space Marine that fits the listed theme, take the opportunity to push yourself and your skills on a cool project and maybe win cool stuff!

Head on over and check it out!

A White Scars successor chapter, played a large roll in the Badab Wars (IA books 9&10), and several other smaller events. Also the topic of the largest p&m blog on the site.

Green and Yellow Raven Guard with a bit of South-East Asian/Oriental flavour and less of an affinity for jump packs. Joined the wrong side of the Badab War and were eventually brought to heel by the Carcharodons (who claimed a whole generation of MW neophytes as their prize at the war's conclusion) before being sent on a Penitent Crusade. Losses sustained during it may have sounded the chapter's death knell.

I got some more work in on the knight (mainly washes and doing some more metal work on the gargoyles and head). I also dry fitted it together to see how it would look since it is all base coated at least.

Thats some really good work very quickly Ustrello, hope you get it all done in time.

Small update I figured if I didn't start it it would never get done so heres a bridge

To my eye it seems slightly to wide and I still need to do all the intricate rope work on it which will be a surprising long process I think. The 4 spures will be the end support posts and carved to look like wood.

Okay, my entry for this month is officially finished! Here are my final pics:

He was pretty fun to paint, especially since he wasn't straight out of a kit but rather a kitbash of appropriate components. I feel like he fits the theme really well since he is carrying the Mace of Redemption, which is a chapter relic of the Dark Angels. I think this is the earliest I've ever actually finished one of these contests. Sad, I know. Feel free to vote for the pics in the Dakka Gallery! I'm looking forward to what everyone else enters, there have been some pretty good ones already!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Okay, after getting some good advice from one of our fine Dakka members, I've made a small modification to the Chaplain's paint job. Here are the revised final photos:

I think the face does look a bit better with some white on the forehead. Looks a bit more like a chaplain's skull helm. I didn't have an actual skull helm handy, so this is the next best thing.
