GW has been very vague and contradictory on product shelf life as of late. It benefits them to be that way, so you run out and buy it NOW! Knights is a core product, whatever that means. Until it isn't any more. At some point decided by GW, which may be three months or 3 years from now.

To be fair, the only people saying it's "limited" are independent retailers.

Nothing against them--but it could be that it's intended to be a splash release to them and then shift to a "core" item at their own shops.

Which incidentally is pretty good idea. There IS limit on how many boxes you can really expect to sell those quickly. As it is after initial period all products suffer slowdown. And that's one big box. Big expensive boxes that don't sell at high pace aren't that effective for stores. They want generally stuff that moves at fast pace.

So makes sense to have it online only after certain period.

Gonna say... look at the Cadians armour.

Is there any confirmation that the chaos knight rules will be in White Dwarf? I really don't want to buy the whole box just for two pages of rules.

It's in the game box set. Wasn't in the White Dwarf.

Yes, they'll be in this weeks (WD 117). Should feature rules for Chaos Marks on Knights, and a formation of 3 Knights (though I can't remember any details on rules)

If it has not been confirmed yet, Renegade is indeed a limited run (at least, GW have told our store there will be no more after this order).

Ours arrived yesterday, and I penned a few thoughts on it. Link in the sig, if anyone is interested (if you aren't, I can give you the short version - it is a box set with two Knights for £120. You decide whether it is worth it!).

Perhaps, though I am trying to think of something else released recently that did that...

That still wouldn't stop them from doing an encore print run due to "high demand", might be a year or two like space hulk, but still always possible.

Wasn't there a game, with Assassins, that has now been cycled off shelves to be replaced by this very new game...but is still available from Direct?

Now only a CSM player.

Assassinorum: Execution Force to be fair, wasn't half bad. I feel a lot more effort could have been put into the box though, models wise. 4 brand spanking new assassin models, 1 old CSM Lord, 3 ancient plastic CSMs and 15 DV cultists was a pretty crap deal.

I'd rather play execution squad. Far cheaper, more useful in 40k, etc. Why would I want to use to ginormous imperial knights when I could just download the rules and use epic titans? Or just play battletech?

Sorry gw, this game is a flop. Execution squad is far better, battle at calth, even better, deathwatch, even better yet, space hulk.. top of the hill

"Flop?"

I would expect it to sell VERY well. Better than Assassins, for sure. Probably similar dollar value to Horus Heresy.

It is two knights and scenery for the cost of one knight and scenery. Calling it a flop is quite possibly the most dillusional post recorded here today.

Runnin up on ya.

His post was about the game itself, I'm sure he wasn't commenting on the obvious cost savings.

I agree, there's little reason to buy this if you're looking for a new game; it's obviously been packaged to drive sales of certain models, not to be a real stand-alone game that will broadly be played.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

The game part of this already existed in wd. They just bundled it in to justify a box set with savings. Many of these board games seem lime they work well out of the box but have limited expansion opportunities, but give you a small force to start into 40k.

Snuh? Mobile Infantry armor looks more like what Space Marines wear.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I think a lot of people, when hearing SST, think of the movie first and not the novel.

HAHAHAHA
OH, It's funny because the film and the novel differ in their depictions of the Mobile Infantry!

Such a discrepancy has never been pointed out before! and your comment generates humour by conflating the two and implying that the comment was directed towards the depiction from the book and not the movie, as was obviously the case.

Such wit, good sir, well played indeed

Because reacting to demand is bad for Corporation and Consumers?

Unless this comes with Limited Edition stamped on it (it wont), then it's really a non-issue.
